as far as I know, there's always an option to choose where you want to save the new contact.

In Contacts, press Menu > More > Configurations >Save new contacts > theres an option to "aways ask"

there is no such saving new contact option also in the setting...does ur phone have this option??

Try using the "people" app that comes bundled with CM9/10, it seems to have taken over most of the edit/config settings that you would have had on "stock contacts".....

Yes, it's standard feature of TouchWiz. An idea so good that CM and AOKP adopted.

I would also like to add something. Would you mind to make more specific topic headers? Not like "Something new" that isn´t really new and was implemented into the ROMs since Gingerbread.
So please do not open your next thread with "Another new thing i found" ---> Can you imagine? The phone has WiFi build in.
It´s nice you are discovering your phone, but it´s not necessary to share every single discovery here with such meaningless headers.
Better ask by naming the header the way that everyone knows to which problem this topic is related.

Try installing Widgetsoid, then create a widget containing a 'Brightness' toggle. Tap on that toggle until the brightness is no longer Automatic.

Q & A > Unofficial AOKP [4.2.2]

So keeping it short and sweet:
This is thread to house questions related to the Unofficial AOKP thread, by $MyName.
Questions in that thread can be asked, but "Where do I find the lockscreen wallpaper" shouldn't be asked there, lets keep it clean.
You can ask me directly and as always the other users, as this is a community.

Thanks for this! I would actually like to ask if there is a good inverted google apps mod for 4.2.2 (especially talk, calendar)

Worked fine, though if you're still having trouble:
4.2 camera zip
You can download that zip, flash in recovery [no need to wipe], then reboot.
It'll flash the 4.2 camera with photosphere to your system

Hello, I have been running this ROM for about 4 days now. When I go to Settings, ROM Control, General UI, I have "Show Menu UI Overflow" unchecked. However, I am still seeing the 3 dots representing the menu button in apps. This is not a big deal, just a small annoyance. Is there a way to get rid of this? Also, using lock button to wake up phone sometimes takes a while. I have read that disabling "Wake up on charger" has helped for some users, however it has not made a difference for me. Is there a fix for this, as well? I like this ROM very much, it's smooth and very battery efficient. Thanks for the help!

Well as far as the button, have you tried toggling then rebooting; that may fix it.
The wake issue is semi hit or miss. Disabling the wake on connect has helped some; have you altered your kernel settings?

Yup, I have tried toggling and rebooting without success. And when you say kernel settings, are you referring to the performance options? Because I have not made any changes to those. Nor have I made any changes to any kernel settings, as far as I am aware.

Yes, stock kernel and no settings have been changed. Also, I was checking my data usage and I have noticed that it is not changing. It says I've only used about 300mb and that is not nearly the amount I have used. I don't think it is updating data usage for mobile data or Wi-Fi. Anybody else experiencing this? Just a small bug, not too much of a concern. Thanks!

There is a setting to have the screen all the time OR
A.) When plugged into a USB port (<2amp)
B.) When plugged into a charging cable (>2amp)
It DOES do what you want.
But I get the desire for a "native" solution.

Keep Device Awake
Hi OP. I'm using an app called "Widgetsoid" to create widgets to turn on & off the wifi, bluetooth etc etc.
One of its options include -> "keep device awake" (keeps screen on during charging).
And if the widget is deleted, the "keep device awake" is still activated.
Oh well. works for me!
i wonder if its possible for paul to add it to modaco tools apk
i was looking everywhere for this option when i was setting up my one the first time
It is there under Developer Options. If Dev Options isn't showing in your settings menu go to Settings>About>Software Information>More and click repeatedly on the Build Number. Watch the toast messages and eventually you will see a message that says 'Congratulations, you are now a developer!'. Dev Options will now be enabled in the Settings menu and in there you will find the Stay Awake (while charging) option.

[BLN][APP][WORKİNG LİKE A CHARM!!!] BLN feature for galaxy w

hi guys!
our kernels arent supporting this awesome feature
because of that ı decided to search for how can we use this awesome feature in our phone
you can download the apk file from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4cmiu9q7g4hk900/IUw3GUcHWD
NOTE: our device galaxy w is hdpi device so download the right apk
You do NOT need a kernel with BLN support to use this app , already our device has no BLN kernels
Running the app:
install and open the app. You should be greeted by a popup showing you a list of files. Select the most appropriate (you're looking for something that has a path such as "/sys/devices/platform/bcm21553-leds/leds/button-backlight/brightness). Once you're done, click "enable buttonled in accessibility" and do so. Come back to buttonled and tap the "test buttonled" button. If your capacitive buttons flash, you're good to go. Otherwise, you will need to select a different brightness file (use auto locate or do it manually).
You may also want to customize the options.

Yes, you can just disable it but whats the point of installing if you will just disable it? Anyways, this one is good for those who doesn't use messaging often as it will use the battery often too and the good thing is, it doesn't use the lcd but the capacitive buttons. As you can see in the video, supposedly, only the capacitive buttons should light up not the LCD. Just check the settings
I downloaded, hdpi_jb for cm 10.2. It doesn't work I guess. Im choosing "auto locate", and it brings me 2 different path under the /sys. I tried to click them but nothing happened. Then I activated for missing call and unread message. Besides, I pressed test button, and nothing happened again, I mean there is no blinking. I activated buttonled in main settings panel too. Lastly I tried to restart phone... Guess what? It didn't work again..
Is there any solution bro?
