Guys, could anybody make the Stay Awake mode for HTC One ?
It was included in older genuine ROM but now is removed by HTC - why

Try Caffeine.

It works very good

It was present in TrickDroid 5.6 but not in 6/7. Torxx was going to look at adding it back in.
I too miss it but I'll wait for it to be added back into the OS...

Can somebody post the settings.apk for 4.2.2? I'll look at adding it in. I did it for the Sprint variant

It's trans-ROM file (will work on each ROM based on stock kernel) - isn't it ?

There is a setting to have the screen all the time OR
A.) When plugged into a USB port (<2amp)
B.) When plugged into a charging cable (>2amp)
It DOES do what you want.
But I get the desire for a "native" solution.

Keep Device Awake
Hi OP. I'm using an app called "Widgetsoid" to create widgets to turn on & off the wifi, bluetooth etc etc.
One of its options include -> "keep device awake" (keeps screen on during charging).
And if the widget is deleted, the "keep device awake" is still activated.
Oh well. works for me!
i wonder if its possible for paul to add it to modaco tools apk
i was looking everywhere for this option when i was setting up my one the first time
It is there under Developer Options. If Dev Options isn't showing in your settings menu go to Settings>About>Software Information>More and click repeatedly on the Build Number. Watch the toast messages and eventually you will see a message that says 'Congratulations, you are now a developer!'. Dev Options will now be enabled in the Settings menu and in there you will find the Stay Awake (while charging) option.

Hi, would you know a widget / application that could switch between 2G/3G directly, without asking the user to select the network on a settings page?

Managed to get that on the Hydr0genMod rom via the power control widget that came along with it.

But look up widgetsoid, there's a swich I use in there and it comes with customisable widget switch things, it was exactly what I was looking for and I've now been using it for months =)

same thing with "widgetsoid", only a shortcut, despite it seems to be a great app !
edit: I just read on android SDK doc that the function to use to set the value of choosing 2G or 3G is readonly...
So the answer to my question will be "no" until an Android version of the framework has got this functionnality available in its SDK.
Thanks for your anwers

This is available on Cyanogenmod...
I hope someone can help me out with this (I guess most of my posts arent worth bothering with as they usually go untouched by anyone). I'm trying to figure out a way to disable the touch button backlight on a Google Edition ROM. I have been searching for an answer since the Google Edition hit. All I can ever find is how to disable on GSIII ROMs (non ge). If anyone can please help me out I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Screen Filter is an app that can disable the backlight of the softkeys. Set it to auto-start at boot and you should be good. I know its not a direct fix but its a low impact app that shouldnt effect battery life or operation.

Seems to work for me. Did it dim the screen at all (thats its main function)? Did you see the check box "enable softkey back light" (uncheck it) at the bottom of the app ui?

Yes, it did dim the screen, but if i uncheck the enable softkey back light, anytime I touch the screen the backlights still come on. Are you on a G.E. rom? I am currently on Infamouse G.E.

No im not. I am on AOSP (Slim Bean) though.
There are options to do this in AOKP and CM roms. Anybody know how those builds pull it off?

hi guys!
our kernels arent supporting this awesome feature
because of that ı decided to search for how can we use this awesome feature in our phone
you can download the apk file from here:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4cmiu9q7g4hk900/IUw3GUcHWD
NOTE: our device galaxy w is hdpi device so download the right apk
You do NOT need a kernel with BLN support to use this app , already our device has no BLN kernels
Running the app:
install and open the app. You should be greeted by a popup showing you a list of files. Select the most appropriate (you're looking for something that has a path such as "/sys/devices/platform/bcm21553-leds/leds/button-backlight/brightness). Once you're done, click "enable buttonled in accessibility" and do so. Come back to buttonled and tap the "test buttonled" button. If your capacitive buttons flash, you're good to go. Otherwise, you will need to select a different brightness file (use auto locate or do it manually).
You may also want to customize the options.

Yes, you can just disable it but whats the point of installing if you will just disable it? Anyways, this one is good for those who doesn't use messaging often as it will use the battery often too and the good thing is, it doesn't use the lcd but the capacitive buttons. Thanks for sharing though mate :good:

From main thread post #9
BLN "redirects" LED notifications to the capacitive buttons, ButtonLED tries to detect all notifications.

As you can see in the video, supposedly, only the capacitive buttons should light up not the LCD. Just check the settings
I downloaded, hdpi_jb for cm 10.2. It doesn't work I guess. Im choosing "auto locate", and it brings me 2 different path under the /sys. I tried to click them but nothing happened. Then I activated for missing call and unread message. Besides, I pressed test button, and nothing happened again, I mean there is no blinking. I activated buttonled in main settings panel too. Lastly I tried to restart phone... Guess what? It didn't work again..
Is there any solution bro?

Can anybody using sense 6 tell me if they still force you to have some form of lock screen? That was one of the most annoying things about getting 5.5 with android 4.4.2
It does unless the custom Rom you choose has the option added back.
NuSenseSIX has a native no lock screen option, fwiw.

Good idea lol. I have followed these forums for months before finally making this account but the forum still says I just don't know anything. You're right about the lock option though. In 5.5 disabling that still had a basic lock that needed to be swiped, but I just updated to sense 6 last night by using the RUU posted in the dev forums and disabling that does work.
I think Xposed Sense 6 Mod has a no lockscreen option.
Q&A for [ROM] SlimKAT [8.2] [unofficial] [2014.09.30]
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
after i finish flashing the slimkat 8.2.4 on HOX. i cant root access.
please help how to get root access with this ROM.
go to settings - developer options - root access, and tick "Apps and ADB".
Hey Teemo,
First of all you made an absolutely amazing ROM. I'm using it for the past few months.
I just did a clean install for the latest one, and found out a bug -
When you're using the camera face lock, after define your face and lock pattern for backup pressing Settings - Security just crashes all the time and there is no way of getting it back.
Thanks.
Does anyone use unbounce with this ROM? I always get an error that the app doesn't have the module enabled. Also it doesn't prompt for superuser.

Awww, I can confirm this.
But you CAN get it back!
Here is the trick:
Code:
Open Settings - Navigation
Chose Hardware buttons or Navigation bar - any will do
Choose a key or button
Select "Custom app"
"Activities"
Scroll down and tap "Settings"
Scroll down and LONG PRESS "Unlock selection"
Enter your code
Select new lock
Now you can back out without saving to the key/button.
Great! Thank you.

Yes I have it. It does not use su (Xposed already have the needed su access), but it is checking for root at first start. Did you try the new version 1.41 ? -> "Everything looks great".

The app need a reboot after you have enabled it in Xposed. I got the same error first time i started it. Solved after reboot.
Just want to say how fantastic this ROM is for me. I have never had a problem at any stage, even though I always dirty flash every update. I would be a unique android user as I do not use gapps or Google services on my phone. Since then my battery life has doubled and data usage has decreased. So thanks again for a fantastic ROM and all your work is appreciated

P.S. the thread name should be changed. 8.2 is already old now Maybe it's called only SlimKAT unofficial, without version number

Hardware fault is not normal. Dirt can do it, but then you will see it.
Wonder if a dirty flash can do it, there were changes to settings as I'm sure you have noticed.
Could you try Sensor List from play store to check if the light sensor is okay?

Mobile network problems
I'm having problems with my mobile network since I installed this rom.
When I dial a number the signal disappears, this happens at least once a day.
The phone is then disconnected for a few minutes and then reconnects.
It always happens when I try to dial.
It happens at home, where I know the signal is fine.
Any ideas? Maybe upgrade the radio or something?
Otherwise everything works for me.

Flash boot.img and erase cache from bootloader. We had these problems before, long ago. Should not be there anymore.
If you cannot fix it, you are welcome to send a Bugreport. Easy to make from SlimCenter.
