Haven't seen anybody experience this, but ever since I got this phone I receive an "unfortunately unable to update device" notification at least twice when I reboot. Haven't notice any performance issues, but wondering if anybody experiences this too?

Not me if rooted backup everything with mybackup root or titanium backup. Then factory reset it. And restore everything. That should fix it.

Try clearing your cache.
Or try one of the ics ROMs from the development section

I was having that problem the first 2 days of stock Rooted ICS. Oddly, the problem stopped on it's own without the need for further action :/

Well i know with my hd2 that the rom free space was a problem...i had 77mb free with gb and 6mb with ics...so i uninstalled all the apps i wasn't using with titanium and gained 100mb extra...so the rom has room to do it's thing...we'll see if this works...

same here - time "changes" throughout the day
I had the same problem.
OK here's my scenario, I rooted once I upgraded from the kies ics update via the stock root on GalaxyS2Root.com and then had these problems, I then get (very) angry and decided to try it a different way, so I un-rooted, still having hang then fast restart with buttons lit up. So after I put stock ics on there I did a factory reset in stock recovery, then re-rooted now it's Ok, even though the wifi strength is horrific on the stock ics regardless (anyone else having this problem?). But this permanently fixed my problem. Hope this helped!
P.S. - I froze almost all of the stock bloatware with titanium backup as well still works great!
This has been a problem for a while, but i thought it would be just a simple reflash gapps and maybe rom, so i delt with it for a time. But now i just switch from aokp to cm9, fresh install, and the problem still persists. Anybody else having similar problems or have a fix?
Try going to settings-applications-Play Store/Market-Clear Data.

Tried clearing the data and all the basic troubleshooting you do when something screws up.nothing works

It is not ics. I've made a few threads and in most of them you come and bash ics. The problem came up recently, and I been on ics since I first got this phone, which was in April, and I've had no problems till now. So if you don't have anything to say about a solution to the problem please, keep your opinions about ics to yourself
Now back to the problem. I've recently switched to cm9 and the problem is also here. It's really annoying when large apps have to update.

So I have been having some random reboots and my phone has been freezing and wont turn off unless I pull the battery. I am completely stock only rooted I have never flashed a rom on this device either. I dont know what could be causing these problems the only root apps I have is super user and wifi there. Anyone have any thoughts please chim in. Thank you.
P.S. I have done 2 factory resets as well

Define "factory reset". If you have truly reset all the software, then it must be hardware, in which case, time to visit a Sprint store.
Reset through recovery wiped everything 3 times

I was using Juice Defender and this was causing my reboot and unstalled it and reflash the MA7 return to stock Rom and my problems have been solved. In my case it was software or some tweak that I did that caused my problem. My phone has not restarted ever since this has been 5 hours.
Has anyone found any problems after the update? I'm all stock, and I've found that my Google maps will stop responding while using nav, and once it's does that the phone has to be restarted before it works again. Also when using nav, if someone calls me, it will stop nav and I have to go back and start again even if I don't answer the phone.
Also YouTube will lock up now and have to be restarted and even have had issues no recording video via camera and issues with playback, all go away after restart.
Any thoughts??

Did you factory reset after the update? I did so even after it wiped everything.

No I didn't. You mean just to default everything or to do a full wipe and restore?

I'm not saying a factory wipe, which is a full wipe of data, will help. It is a recommendation and as good of a place as any to start of you have verified all of your app settings. To do so you can go into settings and factory wipe there or go into recovery mode and do it from there. Just keep in mind this will wipe your internal sd card and installed apps and updates. I doubt putting everything to default would help.

I see they just updated maps again today. Another issue is if someone calls you and you don't answer or ignore, the nav app closes and you have to restart the whole process instead like before where it went right back to nav screen after calls.

Htcdm.apk is keeping my phone awake ever since the first time I got the update notification, now I know that's the app to freeze to prevent ota updates but I don't see the point of it continuously running if i skipped the update but of course I'm sure they assume you'll take the update and did not bug test. Anyone know a way to stop/freeze the app or at least force close it in Stock? Probably not but just wondering if anyone else having this issue. And yes I did restart the phone and it still runs so that doesn't stop the wake lock

Could under settings apps and force stop it. When you reboot it will start again. If rooted titanium backup can freeze it.
