if you like sense then go for mysense rc2 or suprimo v30
if want performance go for paranoid andriod
if u want looks then go for miui
So paranoid is the winner then if we consider only the performance? What about battery life?
Personally I don't care too much about graphics. Battery life & performance (and of course stability) are the most important thing for me.

Hi
I have ARHD 9.1 rom on my 1x.
I like to know which rom has the best battery life performance?
Leedroid??
Thanks for answering.

They all fare well as a few of them make use of the new stock kernel which brings many improvements. Battery life is user dependant and based on usage, signal strength, type of data used and such. Try them and see what works best for you.

Stock kernel. Included in most of the roms. Faux kernel gets good recommendations as well.
I'm giving my old HTC Desire to my friend, but before I do I want to flash the best ROM for a laymen's use, in terms of stability, battery life and speed.
Personally, I have a Galaxy Nexus with JB and I love it - I think JB heralds a new era in which android finally shows that iOS is just hype and not god.
I've seen there are ROMs right the way up to Jelly Bean, which I find pretty amazing considering the age of the Desire handset - however, there must be quite a few issues to iron out, and I doubt that my friend, who will be more worried about his phone working than whether it's up to date with android, will appreciate these issues.
So which ROM would you recommend? Quick answers appreciated cause I need to give him the phone within two hours! Lol
Thanks for your help

I really enjoy Mr. mephisto and RSK team rom, the 3.5 sense is awsome and the AMAZE cam is.. well.. AMAZING.
I have it for almost 2 months now.
It gives the old Desire a great new look!
and with the aroma installer is super customized.

No freezes, running smoother than any other rom i had.
you need S-off with CM7 and 4EXT touch recovery.
Everything is written in the Thread.

It's beautiful and stable, but it's too heavy (read slow) even on fast sd. If you have to sell the phone, just install stock rom (with sense), or an aosp like cm7 or oxygen.
No man, install stock Oxygen rom , create partition ext4 for a2sd. And that is it. Rom is completely bug free, and it has bedt battery life. Speed is great, and no laggs at all !

I have to agree. Cool Droid v3 is the stable and cool GB ROM for me.

U wouldnt happen to have a working link to COOL DROID v3 ?
The only reason I might even consider changing this rom I'm using would be somewhat poor multitasking. But I think I'll most likely need to finally upgrade to a better device.

Erklat, why don't you try cool droid? I find multitasking good on that one. I had the rom you're using before, and it's one of the best, but cool droid is even better.... I am sure you'll like it.

Oxygen 2.3.2 + thalamus r4 kernel. Use Oxygen r2 hboot. If You need more space, with GParted make ext3 or ex4 partition.
I've found it best combination (almost one year using it). It's not full of widgets like Sense roms, but You can install Fancy Wigdets or Beautiful Widgets for clock and weather similar to Sense.
I put the last stable version of miui on my dads desire, and it runs perfectly so far. Using the 2.3.7 os which is pretty stable.idk about battery life tho

Just trying to flash AOKP on my GSM One V, as per this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1882990
But the "Latest boot.img" link takes me to a download page with 5 files:
boot-TK-USB-CM10-201210112240.img
boot-TK-USB-CM10-OC-VDD-201210112240.img
boot-TK-USB-CM9-201210112240.img
boot-TK-USB-CM9-OC-VDD-201210112240.img
boot-TK-USB-CM9-OC-VDD-201210112240.img
I'm assuming I want to go for CM10, but want to be damn sure I flash the right one- if anyone can advise, it'd be much appreciated!
Does OC refer to an overclockable kernel?
Cheers!
Yea go for the cm10 as aokp is build on its base
Go for the second one if u want a over clocking option
Other wise go for the first one
And I would really recommend the hell boy kernel
Cheers

The thread's tittle is for me more interressing than the question asked after. I had tried CM9, I am now on CM10 and don't see really difference. At least, CM9 seems to have better résultats than CM10 with quadrant. What is your opinion?
lola !! cm10 FTW ,ur not a heavy user i guess! go to the settings menu my friend so much options!
I think it's safe to say the OP's question was answered so before this gets any more off-topic, thread closed.
