[Q] No sensors working after reboot. - HTC One X

Hi, Im currently on the stock JB with a CID 001. My problem is that once I flash a rom none of my sensors work, after a few times holding the power button for a reboot they will start to work again. Im able to calibrate the G sensor in settings while they work but if I turn off my phone they will stop working.
This started happening after I updated to JB, I have tried using ARHD and Maximus with no difference. Each time I flash a rom they work but after they phone turns off they stop working, not just a few its all of them.
Any suiggestions please?

Just in the middle of updating my hboot to 1.39 so hopefully this helps
EDIT: after re flashing with maXimus 11 and hboot 1.39 the sensors didn't work. I restarted the phone holding the power button but that didn't help, done it again only holding the up button when the htc screen appearing when rebooting.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Also im going to install the two OTA updates here and see if the sensors will still work after these.

Installed the first update and the sensors stopped working and then installed the second and they started working again. I think once I turn off the phone I won't be able to get them to work again. Sorry about all the posts but I'm trying to give as much information as possible.

My phone ran out of battery there for the first time since I flashed the rom so was the first time the phone has been rebooted since the updates. Now the sensors have stopped working again. I have tried rebooting several times, Killing all tasks using the task manager then rebooting but nothing. The only way to get them going again is to re flash the rom. Any help please?

Any help at all? I haven't had any sensors since the last update which is pretty annoying. Thanks

I lost my gyro/compass/orientation at one point a few months ago... I tried several full wipes and different ROMs, nothing changed. However, what did fix 'em was when I relocked and flashed a stock O2 RUU to return it via my operator. Its been fine since.

So your saying the only thing to do is to send the phone back to O2 for a replacement? I opened my phone so I take it that's my warranty void anyways? But suppose I could always try. Thanks, also just compared my loud speaker to my brother phone and mine is awful compared to his

So after booting the phone into recovery and wiping the two caches and fixing permissions I was able to get the proximity sensor working after two reboots but after another it stopped working again. Any idea's?

No, sorry - I didn't send it back to O2, I flashed the RUU with the intent of doing so and that's what fixed it! Sorry for being confusing!

System problem, don't mention that.Flash another rom .That will be fixed.

I have already tried the European standard ruu along with maximus and arhd so unless I try the branded O2 stock rom. I will do this tomorrow. Thanks

Has any body any more ideas? This is getting very annoying. Thanks

If flashing an actual o2 RUU didn't work (I was a bit confused by your previous posts as you can't flash an unbranded RUU on a branded handset...) If that didn't work then its a hardware fault. Or at least a software fault that can't be fixed without the software they use in an hTC service centre.

My phone isn't branded but I got it of O2. I might just re lock it and send it back as I don't seem to be getting anywhere with this. Thanks for all your help but.

So after I rebooted my phone tonight all my sensors have started to work. I don't know what's happening here at all and I don't want to reboot or let my battery die incase they stop working again. I also noticed compared to my brothers one x his screen is alot brighter than mine?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

So I flashed the stock RUU and sent it away for repair and they just sent it back saying there was physical damage, Im assuming this is just that I have opened the phone. So there still isnt any sensors working, any ideas please?

I am experiencing the same problem with the sensors... still didnt find a permanent solution. I rebooted like 100 times, eventually they worked, then after a reboot they didnt.
I came across this topic, maybe it will help

Flipped capacitve touchscreen input

So I've been experiencing an odd issue intermittently. I'll be using my phone normally, and out of the blue, the touchscreen input gets flipped along the vertical centre axis in portrait mode. this flip remains when i change the phone to landscape mode (the issue itself doesn't flip). It's an odd phenomenon that disappears once I reboot, but I thought I'd record and upload for all your curiosities' sakes.

I've got the same problem but it doesn't go away when I reboot...
Can anyone help?!
Experienced the same issue. Rebooted and it was fine. Unnerving to say the least.
Have you tried a factory reset? And/or reflashing ROM
Sent from my Desire Z using xda app-developers app
I've tried rebooting, tried resetting to factory settings and now I will attempt to reflash the ROM.
From the power of google it appears that this is an issue with a lot of tablets and that it's a driver issue. Mine happened only after I replaced a faulty lcd so that would make sense. I'm still not confident on how to fix it though!
Doubt that reflashing is going to help, then. If you can get the device to run a recalibrate you may be in business.
Installing a nandroid on my WinMo TP2 there was a calibrate app in the ROM that ran in the command line before the GUI loaded up. Hopefully you can find something like that.

it was not the nand version but the version that loads from WinMO with Haret. Maybe you can look at one of these files and extract the calibrate code or find out where it came from.

Thanks Igor - that's the most constructive answer I've found to the problem.
Having said that, I'm not sure I possess the neccessary skills to extract the calibrate code and secondly I still hold out hope that it's a driver issue. The reason I say that is because the old lcd was working fine in so much as left and right worked ok (just the display and colours that were ruined) and the problem only started when the new screen went in!
But I guess that still leaves me needing to extract lcd driver files.......

...been googling the issue and it seems that you can get Android to force a recalibrate. IF you're rooted and handy with adb or terminal emulator.
...now that might not fix your issue BUT it might.
Google for ts_calibrate and ro.calibrate

Well I'm not rooted... yet! But I've been working on it (looks like I need a goldcard...) I'm not especially handy with adb but I can follow instructions and have a very small amount of common sense
So I'll try it!
Thanks again for your help man - very much appreciated.
Make sure that you use the gfree method from the wiki page for rooting. And read n re-read before you do it for a flawless and easy root.

Any luck? facing the same issue
Hi, I am a noob and wondering what is the solution to this problem?
After installing the TeamBURST ROM on my andoird the screen is working fine in the bottom half but the upper half has the y-axis flipped.
Appreciate any inputs that point me in the right direction (I just started rooting and flashing yesterday so fairly know but I do know coding).

[Q] Signal dropping during calls

Hi guys, got a strange issue here. Whenever I dial a number the phone will ring a few times then the signal bars will jump from whatever they are on to nothing with an x and call will fail. However; the phone will still be ringing on the other persons end, and if I redial then it will jump into the call I tried to make previously. The same could happen again during the call. Strangely, this only seems to happen when I bring the phone up to my ear, if I use hands-free it only happens 1 time out of 10. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm using SuperNova Xtreme ROM, any more info needed?

Unfortunately, I have also read that there is no fix for that bad luck for us, I guess
Well, I've just done a quick Google and found that sometimes simply taking the back off the phone and hoovering everything out can help, as well as blowing/hoovering on the line between the earpiece and the screen. I'll try it out and post my findings.

Data drop out with stock jb

Just curious to know if other people have been having the same problem and if they have fixed it. I have stock jellybean installed and fairly often for no apparent reason, I will loose my data signal and won't come back without a reboot. Also the screenshot error: retrieving I formation from server happens a fair bit when trying to download stuff from the play store even when I have data signal and won't be fixed without reboot.
So what are your thought??
Cheers.

[Q] Weird touchscreen issue

Hi... my screen 'died' at the bottom. It doesn't register touch at all. I've attached screenshot from service menu. Anyone experienced problem like this? I'm using stock rom and kernel.

All stock ? Try a factory reset from the bootloader......
I will try that.
Btw. Sometimes it is not responsive at all and after while it's working on whole screen surface... If hard reset does not help, it could be a hardware issue...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Yep probably is hardware related. Try the factory reset and check.....
Yup... it's hardware related. God dammit... two weeks without phone, again. So... I had yellow spots, wifi issues and now touch screen issues
Time for a new one then !
Hope you get it sorted soon.....again !
Cheers

U must try factory reset.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
@farh_an I had this with in the first month of owning my hox. I tried wiping cameras app. Cache etc, different camera apps and all it did was close straight away, I even did a factory reset and the camera worked for 10 mins then back to the same issue. I ended up taking it back to my carrier were they tried everything I did in store but still no go. So they sent it of for repair it come back and never done it again touch wood and my carrier never said what they did. Send it for repair

I have the same problem.
Neither the front camera is working nor the main camera.
I must admit that I don´t use any cases and that my HOX fell many times.
Maybe the cables are loose and you have to fix just that. I don´t think that the mainboard is broken because your whole device wouldn´t work in that case.
If I had the right tools I would open my HOX again and have a deeper look but I don´t have them and can´t risk a broken device since the other parts of my HOX are working flawless.
Maybe somebody else had the same problem and was able to fix that by himself or somebody who let his device get repaired and send back with some kind of report card
Flash a new ROM. Problem solved.
Fyi the problem doesn´t need to be software based.
I already flashed stock rom, Viperx 3.7.4/3.7.5 and back to stock. I even tried to set the phone back to the factory settings but the cameras still force close.
i have this problem now too...i open the camera app ...it is 5 s opened but not able to choose front or back cam and neither the settings in camera app are working...so it's a hardware problem...maybe i have to disassambly the phone too...already openend phone cam seems to be rock solid but i think flex cable is damaged or not really on the mainboard...
Solution?
Not sure we are having the same issue. But I hope I can help.
I have had this issue with two HOX phones (one rooted and one not rooted): green-pink lines and snow flakes on front camera.
Did everything... even changed cameras cleaned in/out played with settings- NOTHING HELPED except this:
1. Downloaded/installed "miror" application.
2. updated my phones.
3. Disabled fastboot settings.
4. Powered down my phone.
5. Pressed together up and down buttons and power key for 20 seconds and rebooted.
6. Opened Mirror app... and guess what? Mirror... mirror-I can eventually see my self without green/pink lines!
7. Opened camera and tried frontage camera and it works too like a magic!
I am clueless for what may have caused the issue, but I am certain that the update it self (and it was camera update included) did NOT solve the issue, because the camera still gave green/pink lines after update.
The mirror application would not even start!
Same with powering down/restart
It may be a combination of the above 3 and DISABLING FAST REBOOT which may have solved the issue.

If warranty period is over why dont you consider flashing a custom rom and see if it solves the issue.
can you check if your g-sensor is working or not? has the camera been working fine with AOSP ROMs?

have you fixed it yet? i have the same problem with my HTC one X.... please message me if you have seen this thank you very much!! ))))
Hi Everyone , my GF's hox gave her the same problem last week , after intensive googleFU and trying all the solutions listed (even a crazy ass one) i decided to open the damn thing and voila! there's a small square connector located above the top left side of the battery , somehow (yeah "somehow" as my gf swear she did not droped it...¬¬) it became loose , so i just presed on it , checked the camera and YESSSSS!!! it was working again, so no app problem , no gsensor problem, just a small connector .
So thats it , it worked for me , so if you re still doing factory resets , changing roms , heating the phone , etc etc , you might want to open it and check that connector .
check the picture , remember , the flat square metal looking connector above the top left side of the battery.
