[Q] app data recovery - Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking

Hello,
in my HTC HD7 I have an app for the recording of expenses.
one day opening the app I have found no more data.
the app is ANTSAVER.
I had recorded almost a year of expenses.
How can I retrieve this data? is there a way to access the database and see if the data is still in the phone? all I need to export on PC.
thanks to all.

Txt Message Problem

Hi Guys,
Today the messaging app on my HTC Desire HD would not start (force closing all the time). My provider (Orange) got me to take out the battery to reboot, which did get it working again - the downside was that all the messages were gone.
Now I had about 1400+ messages, which luckily I'd backed up to an xml file, Orange reckon it's the volume of messages that's causing the problem as they're stored on the SIM card - does anyone know of an app that will move them to the SDcard, the phone does not provide that option as far as I can see.
I really don't want to lose the messages and it was fine on my HTC Hero.
Regards,
Grabbit

Its not just you. me and a friend of mine both had force close today on dhd and then messages gone
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
So, is here any solution then? What to do, because I also got force close today and all messages gone?? Is there any way to get them back??
Tnx
It's an issue with all Android phones and Google have not fixed it for a year.

shazam - anyone been able to get their unlimited tagging back?

as someone who downloaded shazam in the market before they started charging for it, i always had unlimited tagging with the free version of the app...and it always carried between whatever ROMs i had installed on any given day.
since upgrading to the nexus, i can't get it to give me unlimited back. i tried restoring a titanium backup from my incredible, that also didn't work. still waiting to hear back from their support team on it...
has anyone who was grandfathered into the old shazam app gotten unlimted tagging to work?
I had the same problem, but fortunately I bought Soundhound when it was .10 for the 10 billion download sale.
I've had soundhound for a while now, got it when it was the free app of the day on amazon. If I would've known this was gonna happen though, I would've bought shazam encore when it was 10 cents. I very much prefer shazam.
Has anyone been able to get unlimited tagging working?

They actually just responded to my email outlining how to get it transferred to the new device...I'll post it here for anyone who might need it. I'm going to email them later tonight with my info, we shall see if they honor their own policy.
-----
I've received a new Android handset, can I transfer my free/unlimited app to my new handset?
Users who’ve downloaded and setup the free Shazam app prior to the 13th July 2010 can now keep their unlimited tagging status when switching to a new Android device. Note, users who purchase Shazam Encore can re-download Shazam Encore from the Android Market free as long as they use the same Google account on their new device.
To keep your unlimited tagging status, follow the steps below.
1) Note down the IMEI number of the Android device which had Shazam installed with unlimited tagging.
Trouble finding your IMEI? • If you still have the original device, the IMEI number can be found under Android Settings> About Phone> Status > IMEI. • The IMEI will be printed on a label on the device, usually under the battery. • Your carrier may also give you this information from their records if you have sold your device or lost it. • It may also be found located in/on the handset's original packaging.
2) Launch Shazam on your new device and click on Settings>About Shazam
3) Click the email address link ([email protected]). This will open up a pre-populated support email (containing your current MEID/IMEI) using your preferred email client.
4) Change to Subject text to “Android: Transfer Unlimited Tagging”
5) At the bottom of the mail, enter the IMEI number of your old device which was granted unlimited tagging.
6) Select Send
If our records indicate you were granted unlimited tagging on your old IMEI, we will transfer the same status over to your new device. Please note: Your old device will be reverted back to limited user status.
Not that this is of any help but I always thought that feature was tied to your google market account. I would have shazam grandfathered installed to multiple devices and all would show unlimited tagging. Did they recently change it? Not that shazam (non encore) shows up in my market for me anyways.

Which phone locator app?

Which app do you use to locate your phone in case of loosing it?
I use Avast Anti theft features (formerly theft aware), install the app from the market and just uninstall the antivirus if you don't want it after installing the anti theft features.
Here is a review of theft aware.

it has some good features.
i keep getting emailed pictures of me getting my lock code wrong
I use SeekDroid as of now. It has everything I was looking for. Got it for free on the Amazon free app of the day. Best part is no monthly fee!

Android Lost is free and offers remote locking, wiping of internal and SD card, GPS tracking, full volume text to speech, pop up notifications and a while host more.

It is, under google latitude. But latitude is more for family and friends to know where each other are, not to locate a lost device.
I've only used Androidlost and only installed it remotely when the phone was lost. I'm surprised so many of you would keep a persistent app which can monitor your every move and record audio and photos of you secretly. And people freaked out about Carrier IQ?

SeekDroid works well for me.

Androidlost looks great feature wise, but I couldn't get it to activate remotely via SMS. I sent the text via Verizon as well as a online SMS tool. Weird...
Yes its both unbelievable and embarrassing, that you have to pay for a Google Apps account to get this.

Looking for GPS locator like MobileDefense

I loved this app on my nexus one, it doesnt drain battery and stays hidden. Also is has lots of options to remote wipe and alert.
Anyone know of a similar app for my Galaxy Nexus? MD is not on the market anymore..
Thankyou
Tim-
Lookout Mobile Security and McAfee's WaveSecure have this functionality.
Personally I just use Tasker. I have it set up to activate the GPS tracker upon a SMS trigger or a detected change of the SIM card. Every 10 minutes it will silently snap photos via the front facing camera and send its GPS coordinates over SMS to a group of my friends and family. I have a second SMS trigger that will delete select directories of vital files.
I personally use Cerberus, sure it's not free but in my opinion it's the best as it has a lot of features. It can also be flashed via recovery so it stays after a wipe, it can check SIM configuration etc. Those are only some of its features. Also I don't need one that comes bundled with an anti-virus because quite frankly, it's not necessary for me.
OMG Cerberus is so cool!!!!
grab SMS log remotely! take picture remotely!
this is awesome.
I just tried Cerberus as well and its AWESOME! Highly recommended!
Cerebus is the best out there. Also, I had mobile defense too, but it doesn't appear in the market anymore. However it does still appear in my my apps list, so it should be there for you too.
But cerebus is better anyway.

Call Log/History Size

Hi,
I am in process of transferring some data from my old HTC Sensation XE to my new Z1C.
Was able to transfer all SMS messages without a problem. Call History (500 entries on HTC, 24/01/2014 last one) either does not get transferred in full or there is a size/date limit on Z1C.
Z1C shows history only from 30/03/2014. Tried all visible settings, but could not find anything about size/length/days.
I am on AurRom v3.0.
How far can you go with your call log?
Thanks!

It is not a transfer issue, as when using third party dialler the whole history is shown. It seems that Sony phone dialler app has a limit of 28 days.
There is nothing in app settings to increase (or decrease) the 28 days limit.
