Hey Guys,
After i flashed hboot 1.31, insertcoin 13.0 i wondered why ive got no cell connections.
so ive tried to flash another kernel. but it failed. now my phone hangs on this screen.
what can i do to get back to a working kernel with working rom?
Can you enter the bootloader by holding the power button and the volume - button together .... or by adb command
Adb reboot bootloader
Just hold power+volm down for like 10 seconds and select fastboot. Then reflash clockwork recovery.

Hi guys, slight issue here when trying to custom boot.
I've installed Visionary and rooted the phone, done Radio S-OFF and Eng S-OFF as per the file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942531 but i cant get the recovery menu to work.
it boots fine from clockworkmod, then goes into recovery mode but volume up + power does noting, it needs a battery pull to restart. the phone itself is fine and working.
any ideas?
nevermind , flash recovery did not work correctly.
sorted now
Did you get to recovery by holding vol up + power?
no, clockworkmod had not flashed correctly so only had a half arsed recovery method
sorted now though
I just flashed a arhd rom a kernel and InfinitySound mod and then my phone was stuck in the htc quietly brilliant screen...
The main thing is i can't even enter the bootloader with "vol+power down" help please...
Keep pressing the power button for more then 5 second and you will see the 3 buttons blinking. After that phone will restart and then press volume down to enter in hboot.
Then look on xda a tool with witch you will flash a stock kernel.
Perhaps this is the solution for you

i tried it, but no luck... it still boots into the htc quietly brilliant screen.
Hold the power button to force a reboot. As soon as your HOX powers off press and hold vol down, keep holding until you enter hboot. It might take a few attempts
First boot can take awial I don't think your stuck its just loading

It's stuck not loading because I have waited 10 hours already. Also, I keep trying to get it into boot loader , but to no avail... tried 30 times already...
Without getting into the bootloader, there's nothing I can do...

Does your phone keeps rebooting?
If so, it sounds like you haven't flashed the correct boot.IMG
You need to flash the correct boot.IMG that is for the kernel you flashed.
-----
As for boot loader, why don't you just use the adb command?
adb reboot bootloader
As for the button combination not working, you need to hold both power & volume down at the 'exact same time', and don't release them until your boot loader screen shows - even if it does an extra reboot, keep them held!

I am having the same problem, and i forgot to backup my previous rom. I rooted, and unlocked my phone, then i tried to install the rom, it installed. however now it just stays in the spinning loading sign for CM10. Is there anyway of putting another rom on the >fake, ie internal> sd card, which cant get removed from the acctual phone? so then i can install that rom? i have tried reinstalling the rom but that didnt work

If you have cwm 5.8.4.0 you can mount the sd card as usb drive.
Don't forget to flash the boot.img that goes with the ROM.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You are probably forgetting to flash boot.img using fastboot from your pc, from your description. After flashing boot.img, issue a
Fastboot erase cache
Or you will most likely get bootloops.
Can someone help please?
I was using the Venom ROM but decided I could not live with the battery life, so flashed the Revolution ROM. I must have installed something it does not like, so it is now saying Android.process.acore has stopped, and requires force close. I can sometimes get into Clockwork recovery but on selecting to flash a zip by pressing the power button the DHD boots up the ROM.
Is there a way to bypass having to use the power button?
Thanks
Alex
Whether the cwm recovery is touch based? If not try flashing cwm touch recovery or 4ext recovery or twrp recovery. With these recoveries you can select menu by touch no need of power button to select menu.
Thanks doesn't hurt....

Did You do a Clean install? If You didn't do a full wipe do that And then reflash The ROM, if You did, just boot into recovery And choose fixmpermissions from there To see what happens.
Yes use a touch recovery as suggested above
I don't seem to be able to do anything in recovery because of the power button starting the ROM.
Trying to get into the bootloader using adb on the PC doesn't seem to work either, as I'm not getting into fastboot, being unable to select it. I get device not found error in all the screens I can get to on the DHD.
Edit.
I've now, I think, got into fastboot by taking out the SD card and Sim card. I think the DHD knows it's in fastboot USB as this changes to fastboot as I put the USB cable in. However, I get no response to fastboot devices, and still device not found to USB reboot bootloader.
I'll keep trying, but not sure what else I can do.
Nightmare, but eventually managed to get into recovery and flash a new ROM by putting SD card in at the last minute.
After several attempts when the on/off button loaded the old ROM, got the recovery to work correctly, and the new ROM is flashed. adb now works as well.

Well that's one of the perks of flashing a 3.xx.xxx.x ROM on 1.xx.xxx.x(4.4.2) firmware. You get to have extremely long boot up times and you won't have a proper working radio which leaves you with no wifi, data, gps, bluetooth...
Your OTA probably didn't work because of a custom recovery, not because it was rooted. Root does NOT prevent OTA updates from installing, though you might lose root access after the OTA.
If you're stuck at Boot screen hold Volume UP + Power button for 10seconds, as soon as the screen goes black press volume Down + Power button to enter into Bootloader.
Flash a custom recovery like TWRP. Go into recovery and restore a nandroid backup for your device.
first thx alot for replaying
i already got TWRP installed but the screen is stock on boot screen but still manage on the back ground to load my current rom as i'm hearing the log in sound of the rom :S
so i tried to power it off without seeing by holding the power key the power option pop up and touching random parts of the screen but i failed
i even waited for the battery to empty and factory reset the phone with no use
is these is any way even by adb to power off my phone
plzzz help
thx again for replaying

By the look of things you are booted in OS but have no screen, hence why try and hold power button in and randomly tap to shut off?
I told you already to Hold Volume UP + Power button for about 10seconds and then hold volume down + power to enter bootloader.
You can of course also just plug it in and try to reboot to bootloader using adb, if you have USB debugging enabled. adb reboot bootloader
As already said just hold power and volume up for around 12 seconds then immediately press and hold power and volume down. This will always get you into the boot loader.
However if adb is working just use the command above. Reflash the original boot.img and you should be good.

Use that to get back to the stock rom for your phone. Then after installing the right one, get the OTA

Never leave your device with an empty battery. In any circumstances.
Because you might not be able to charge it. Recover the device while you have some power on your battery.
Remember, this is a unibody device. It's not so easy to pull out the battery.
So I'm stuck on the HTC logo (with the This build is for development message..) and it looks like I can't do anything about it. I can't get into fastboot with the whole Press volume down + Power button. Buttons are unresponsive.
adb doesn't recognize any device when I attempt to reboot the phone into bootloader with the command 'adb reboot bootloader'
Any solutions?
What I did before this happened: Ran CM 12.1 for a good month then decided to go back to stock rom. I unrooted, flashed stock recovery, and locked the bootloader (did not flash stock rom yet). I decided to try another custom rom so I went to unlock the bootloader again. All seems dandy when it starts to reboot when I unlocked the bootloader, but now it's just stuck on that screen.
Edit: I just got around to reading some guide that tells me I should just wait until the battery dies since it's likely frozen. What a bummer.

Hold the volume up button and power simultaneously (for 15 seconds) to restart the device while on the HTC logo. If you can get into fastboot mode (Volume down and power button while phone is powered down), make sure you're running the stock recovery and have locked bootloader to run the RUU.
