Hello for everyone, Today we going to get Whatsapp in our Beast Tablet Google Nexus 7 (tested WIFI VERSION AND 3G, ALSO WORK WITH ANY TABLET HAVING ANDROID!)
I was very busy developing and cooking roms for allwinner a13 tablets
THIS HOWTO IS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANNA INSTALL WHATSAPP IN THE TABLET
DO YOU NEED: 1 ANDROID SMARTPHONE AND WHATSAPP INSTALLED AND UPDATED!
REMEMBER: YOU CAN ONLY HAVE ONE INSTALLATION OF WHATSAPP BY PHONE NUMBER, IF YOU WANNA USE WHATSAPP ONLY IN YOUR TABLET, PLEASE UNINSTALL WHATSAPP ON DEVICES
USING YOUR PHONE NUMBER.
This a new method to start to get working whatsapp in our tablet.
1. Install "Carbon backup" APK from play store on your android smartphone and on your tablet.
2. Take a back up of whatsapp from your smartphone and select the option to save it on your external SD card.
3. Now move to your tablet. Take a backup of any app. In my case, I took the back up of Temple Run2 and select to save the back up in your external SD card.
(This is mainly done to create the Carbon backup folder structure.)
4. The back up would be available under /ext_sd_card/carbon/
5. Now back to your smartphone
Copy the complete carbon folder under /ext_sd_card/carbon/ and upload it some where. (You can use some file manager like EXexplorer to do this for you)
6. Moving to your tablet, download the carbon folder you uploaded in your tablet and replace with the one that is already existing on your external SD card.
7. Open Carbon application and restore WhatsApp
8. It will ask you to install whatsapp from play store.
Install WhatsApp to the tablet!
9. Select restore option again and restore WhatsApp data
10. Open WhatsApp with the same state as you left it on your smart phone. (IF YOU HAVE MESSAGES THERE, THEY WILL BE IN TABLET TOO)
If you want to use a different number on your tablet, then follow the below steps after Step 11.
Send one or two messages to your friends.
11. Uninstall whatsapp and install it again.
12. Restore the back up again from carbon app.
13. Open Whatsapp, you will be asked to verify your number.
14. Enter your new number and select Ok. Please make sure that the new number is in working state i.e. the SIM card is inserted into a phone and can receive SMS/call
15. Whatsapp will send the verification code to your new number.
16. Wait for sometime and you will get the prompt on your tablet to enter the verification code.
17. Enter it and enjoy
Easy method to import contacts:
1. Import the contacts from Outlook to a CSV file.
2. Login to Gmail and imported the CSV file.
3. Login to Gmail in your tablet and contacts will be synchronised!
DO NOT FORGET SAY THANK YOU AND SHARE THESE THREAD

Hai, Im from Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 P3110 Wifi user. I search for how to install WhatsApp in WiFi only tablet and guess what??? I TOTALLY works. A zillion thanksto you :good:
BTW, for those who got 6 digit authorization code that means you have installed the wrong version on the BlueStacks. The WhatsApp version on BlueStacks and on your tablet must be SAME.
Hope thread starter will update his OP since Im also thought just download it from somewhere else to be use in BlueStacks but no, you must installed the same version.
Before this I use the latest version which is 6 code, appguraded but you cant enter your code there. But this method totally works. Now I have Viber and WhatsApp, hey who need a simcard? Thank you so much AnonFBI
OP please give us normal links, not those stupid AdFly ones.
You welcome, you are total right you must have the same version of whatsapp in bluestacks and your tablet, do not matter what model of tablet do you have this works.

I updated the step 4 in thread,
Verify your are connected over iINTERNET with BlueStacks and wait SMS code to your phone
You must setup whatsapp first in bluestacks and wait SMS 3-digit code in your phone numbers
if that do not work use call verification and save the 3-digit listened in the call! (please be patient sometime take more time to get sms or call verification)

One last question which I forgot to ask... Now that WhatsApp works, should I keep AppGuard installed on the tablet and Blue Stacks on the laptop or I can uninstall them? I have unchecked the auto-update function, so I guess it will work without any risks?
I installed whats up using titanium back up from my phoen and installed the restore. Only thing bad about this is that sometimes you will get messages to either tablet or phone but not both at the same time

Hi there,
I registered here today hoping you guys could help me out. I bought my daughter a tablet called Kurio. Its Android v. 4.0.3 and I would like to Root it but regular google searches and occational YouTube-videos confuses me rather then helping out.
kurioworld.com .... check out this website to get a closer look on the tablet, and perhaps come up with a solution ?
As the Tablet runs today its not compatible with a lot of games, and im not able to connect the device to Google Play Android App store.
Thx for reading the post, I really hope you can help me out.

I also got the Kurio for my daughter today and got quite mad when I noticed that Google Apps wasn't there. I guess they havent been approved by google or something. I can't see any other reason why google apps is left out.
I tried the alternative market (1Market) but the first thing I saw when I opened it was a porn app. So I removed it quickly. Then I tried installing Amazon appstore. Worked well but I'm not allowed to buy apps here in Norway. Quite irritating.
Finally i found a way to get apps from Google Play into the Kurio. This requires that you have another rooted android device with gapps:
1. Install Shark App backup & restore on your second android device.
2. Install the apps you need.
3. Back up the apps you want placed on the Kurio with the Shark app
4. Remove SD Card from your phone/tablet/whatever and insert it into the Kurio
5. Enter Android mode on the Kurio, open the File Manager, navigate to /sdcard/AppManagerProMax
6. "click" on the apk's you want to install.
Works like a charm. My daughter will be happy to see minecraft PE on her Kurio in the morning.
I did this on a HTC Sensation with CM10.

Hi there,
Thx for taking the effort to give me a possible solution. Unfortunately I dont access a rooted phone, so there you go
Btw, I`m from Norway to, so I guess we are stuck in the same boat here. I tried amazon myself, but as we discovered ...
As for now, Piratebay is by far the best "shop", most of the files there actually works fine with the Kurio.
Plz dont hesitate to contact me if we could find solutions to this problem.
Actually it might be better to use email ..... we could even speak Norwegian ,
You can reach me at stigolsen(alfakrøll)gmail.com.
I think I will give Kurio a couple of weeks tops, before I put out an Ad at Finn.no. Right now I would much rather own the Nexus 7 to be honest.
Cheers

Simply contact costumerservice through the website kurioworld.com. I asked for a way to root the Kurio, instead they sent me a zipfile with content needed to get the Google store without rooting.
Came with instructions, and whole thing was done in 5 minutes. No hassle, everything just works flawless. Finally the Kurio seems worth keeping.

Ok.. The hacker in me just woke up. He has been dormant for 15+ years.
I got the file from the Kurio guys at the same time as I got your email. And the script worked.
During the script output I noticed that it said "Removing root" or something. That means that the script roots the device, installes Gapps (including Google Play) and then removes root.
The script is a simple .bat file with a bunch of adb commands. I found in clear text how to root the device. When i get the time I will write up an article on how to root the Kurio.
Then I will start figuring out how to get another Recovery installed on the device. From there on, who knows, maybe I will try getting Jelly Bean compiled for the device.
I might also try to retrieve the Kurio interface and see if I can get it to work on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
I will put the file up for download as soon as I find a hosting service I don't have to pay for. Any recommendations? Sadly it's too big to upload as an attachment here.

Hi again,
Great u got it working ! Suddenly the Kurio is kinda worth keeping right ?
An article about rooting the device would be great, and Jelly Bean would be so cool.
As for uploading the file I have used filefactory(dot)com before, take a look there ..
I suggest we keep future progress in this thread, I do belive a lot of people will find this useful as we make more progress in weeks to come.

I have applied for a developer account on goo.im. If I get approved that will be where the files are put.
And the tablet is definetely worth keeping now. A couple of apps doesn't work, but with root we can probably fix that.

Hello
They are having a sale, where i live today and tomorrow. I can get it with 25% off. My kids prefer tablets instead of there Nintendo's. Is it really worth the purchase? Do you know if it can run subway surfers? And last some sites says it has a dual core processor others says single core. Another is doubt about the ram being 1 gb or 512 mb.
Thanks
Hello
I bought two for my 5 year okd kids. The Kurio is going to replace there Nintendo's. I installed the market, using your uploaded files, thank's. It seems like that it only removes the superuser program. And that it leaves the device permanently rooted. I can use both root explore and titanium backup. Most games I installed, runs ok including subway surfer.
Hey guys, can one of you with a rooted tab, maybe release a full backup? I am wanting to try maybe port the launcher over to work on any tablet?..
thanks
Karl
could you please post a download link for that google play file again.... the one you have post now times out
Dear friends,
I just bought a Huawei Ascend P6 in a local chinese store - and its awesome!
Besides that there are no Google Apps installed. I managed to install the Play Store, Gmail, Maps, Google Now by just simply downloading the .apks and installing them.
Nevertheless, I can't add a Google Account which means I can not sync my google contacts
What I tryed so far:
Booting to Stock Recovery and trying to install GAPPS --> Failed to to Error "Wrong Verification"
Extracted GAPPS archiev and moved all Apps.apk to System/app. Also set the right permissions (rrw - r - r) --> No effect
My Phone is already successfully rooted. What can I do? Please help me =)

Hello,
I also have the ascend P6 chinese version
Can you please tell me what the error message you receive when trying to sync.
From my part I managed to join the device with the google account and also sync contacts.
Only difference from what you told me earlier was that I didn't have the device rooted when I synced.
What tool did you use to sync ?
There is no error message. I just don't have the option to add a Google Account under "Settings" -> "Add Account". Play Store however created one as well as Gmail. But calender sync or contact sync is not working.
What modifications did you make to your phone? How did you manage to add an full featured Google Account under "Settings"?

I didn't make any modification - i just install google play and download all the applications - the moment I signed into gmail and play store i was asked to sync
It's probably due to some error or bug

Absolutely right, my eMails were synced - and of course a Google Account was created in the phone therefore (by GMail App). Nevertheless contact sync was not working since this is not a "full featured" Google Account but more like a GMail sync account atm.
ALSO I made a horrible mistake. I downloaded the latest GApps (for Android 4.2.2 - should be the right ones actually?) and installed them in the "root\Systems\App" folder of my device. I also changed the permissions to rw-r-r according to multiple postings I found all around the web. Now my phone does start, but BEFORE the homescreen or anything is loaded there is a error message saying something like
"Setup Wizard stopped working". It comes up repeatetly! Everytime I click OK this message comes up again! I can not use my phone anymore.
FYI, Setup Wizard is the App who starts when first time starting an Android device for initial setup of Accounts and introduction in your phone.
How can I fix it?? Right now my phone is bricked. I can not access the Settings or anything. I am rooted, but without custom recovery. Can someone uploade the International Stock Rom of the P6?
€: I tried to flash the original chinese rom I found at Huawei webpage, but my Stock Recovery is saying:
Huawei SDCARD&USB UPDATE AGENDT 2.0
This phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK state.
Update Package: /sdcard/dload/UPDATE.APP <-- This is the Rom I want to install
checking sd update pkg ...
Huawei SD card update fail
How do you make to root the p6?? I have a chinese version of p6 too and i dont know how to root it.

You can download the international version here:
consumer.huawei.com/en/support/downloads/detail/index.htm?id=16202
Hey man,
thx for the tip, I finally got it back working! Even better, the international version already brings full google integration. Perfect!
For your question: Search for a tool name eRoot. You can find it here - sorry that its in German.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/huawei-ascend-p6-u01-forum/443644-huawei-ascend-p6-root.html
BTW: Guys! Never ever buy MicroSD Cards at chinese fake markets! I bought a 16GB card and fpr pictures etc its working perfectly. But when I wanted to flash the ROM it came up all the time with above mentioned error messages. After I changed to a legit SD card from Germany everything was working perfectly. =D

I'm wondering the same thing. I just got a Chinese P6 and want to make it an international version if possible.
Hi guys
yes, the official rom is international ( This one ) and is for all phones, it does not require root.
it has two methods of upgrading:
the force upgrade (wiping everything, by starting from the recovery boot with power + volume up and down together)
the soft upgrade (overwriting and keeping programs, data and configurations, by launching the upgrade from the management/upgrade icon as local upgrade)
to soft upgrade simply:
- download pack
- unzip on pc
- copy the directory dload to the root of the sd card
- unplug usb phone-pc (so to remount sd card)
- enter managmenet icon group, choose upgrade, select local upgrade, run
- 5 minutes and your phone will be upgraded to version 107, international with all google apps already installed
enjoy
That's very promising. Is it possible to first make a complete "nandroid" backup? I'm thinking about doing the hard flash, because using Chinese configuration files with an English versions seems to invite problems.

Interestingly.. unfortunately I have been configuring my current setup for a long time now and another hard reset would make all that work for nothing.
It also seems like a very surprising solution. Are you sure this fixed it?
So you can actually enable the notification bar now?
By the way, do you know if we still get frequent system updates with this version?

It also seems like a very surprising solution. Are you sure this fixed it?
So you can actually enable the notification bar now?
By the way, do you know if we still get frequent system updates with this version?

1. Yup, that's what I did.
2. Yes, I can enable it and customize the notification bar buttons after my hard reset.
3. I'm not sure about the frequent updates though.
Update:
12/1/2013
The tutorial below was tested with Android v4.2
I am not sure if it works with v4.3 and higher.
For those running 4.3 or 4.4, please feel free to offer any insight.
Thanks
I read where a lot of people don't like Google Hangouts, and would like to install Google Talk again. There are GTalk files available, but installing them proved to be unsuccessful for some, which prompted me to find out why.
Below is a short tutorial showing how to get Google Talk back back onto your device. I have no doubt others already know how to install GTalk on devices with Hangouts installed, but many don't, and after searching and not seeing a how to, I started this thread.
I've tested this successfully on my rooted T-Mobile M919. I've not tested this method on other devices, but I don't see why it wouldn't work for others.
1) download Google Talk:
http://d-h.st/9Uf
2) go to Titanium Backup
3) find Hangouts system app
4) make a backup of Hangouts
5) un-install Hangouts
6) reboot
7) using your file manager, find the talk.apk & install the package.
8) Enjoy
If you want to install Hangouts again, un-install Google Talk, reboot and
re-install Hangouts using TiBu.

Uninstall update is not an option in the Playstore. Only 'open' & 'uninstall'
In:
Settings
Application manager
All
I uninstalled updates but Hangouts remains in the app draw and Talk is not found.
If I've overlooked something, please let me know.
I'll reboot to see if that restores Talk.
Edit:
Rebooted, and Hangouts still there. No Talk.

Hmm... idk. I've had Google Talk installed before Hangouts came out. I have the options for 'Force Stop' 'Uninstall updates' and 'Disable'.

Yeah, that's why -
If your ROM came with Talk, then you can uninstall updates and get back to Talk. Whereas, if your ROM came with Hangouts, then uninstalling update won't work.
(And here, by ROM I mean the ROM istels or GApps package you flashed. )
Just out of curiosity why do you like talk over hangouts? To me hangouts has everything talk had and more, not sure why I would want to go back.

Personally, I've used Talk very little and never tried Hangouts.
The reason I started this 'How to' thread was because I found others that had Hangouts wanted to install Google Talk like they used to have on other devices, but we're unable to install Talk. I looked around and didn't see any clear directions on how to do this, so by trial & error I figured it out and started this thread
With the above being said, I've read many who prefer Talk for its simplicity, in addition to being able to tell who is available for chat if they're on their pc etc. which you're not able to do with Hangouts. I'm sure there are pros & cons for both apps, and sometimes it may just come down to:
- those who are familiar with a service they've used for years (Talk) and figure it works well so why change it.
- If it 'ain't broke, why fix it?'
- the KISS Principle (keep it short & simple)
Others who have used both Talk and Hangouts will be able to offer more specifics
I don't like hangouts either. I have a modified talk apk somewhere on my computer that disables the stupid play store notification to update.

Google should listen to their customers and split Talk from Hangouts. The later seems aimed at teens and people who enjoy selfies.

I see you have a Sprint S4.
I just tested the tutorial again and I was able to install GTalk.
Follow the steps exactly.
If you still fail to install GTalk, as I mentioned in the op, I've tested this on an M919, not other devices. If you've followed the steps exactly, then there appears to be an issue installing GTalk on the Sprint S4.
Thanks a lot

Not sure.
You can always try moving it with TiBu and see what happens.
Have a Nandroid just in case
I am using Samsung Galaxy S3 4.1.2. I never installed the update to GTalk from play store since it was going to replace it. Anyways I got a an OTA update of about 80mb I installed it and I got a software Play Games and my GTalk has been replaced with hangouts. From the app manager menu when I go to the hangout app it only shows the force stop and disable option and not the uninstall option. In the playstore it is showing me that there's an update to it. How can I remove this crap software? I cannot root due to warranty issues, sorry.

The tutorial I posted requires Titanium Backup which requires root.. You also need a file explorer.

Thanks for replying. Yea I have already checked that, any tutorial for the non-rooters?
I have a Rooted Nexus 7(2013), 5.1.1, build LMY48l.
I have been browsing trying to figure out if I can install and use Whatsapp on my tablet.
In Google play, it says I don't have the right version of Android.
I also do not want to use it with a cell phone, just my tablet.
Can I install and use it?
I was hoping that there would be some creative way of doing this.
Thank you
Jon
Download whatsapp apk from here: https://www.whatsapp.com/android/ install it, put your phone number (you will need a phone, can be a regular phone and remember you can only have 1 device activated with that number).
Thank you, Now I know

Thank you very much DorianX. A key is that you mentioned that I can use my regular phone number. I don't have a cell phone...believe it or not, however, I use VOIPO , great company and service, that uses VOIP for phone calls and there is a Android App for it if I need to make or receive calls where there is WiFi.
Thanks again,
Jon
But do you have a number where can call you?

Hi, guys! Do you know if it is possible to install the old Skype app for Windows Phone 8.1 on a Windows 10 phone instead of Skype Preview? I hope there is a way to do it, as Skype Preview is cr*p right now. It makes more problems now than few months ago. Since one month ago it has issues with video calls, and since less than a week it has issues with audio too.
I have tried to usual Skype from here, but it would always give my this error message.
Can't install app
There's a problem with this app. Check the package, or contact there person who gave it to you for help.

Thank you in advance!
It won't connect to the serwer anyway
Are you sure about that? Because my father still has Skype on his Windows Phone 8.1 phone, and it works really well for him. Maybe some older version won't connect right now, but there latest version should work fine. The version for which I have found the xap file is 2.32.0.48. This entry entry at appx4fun was updated in December 14, 2016.
I too expected the old Skype to stop working by now, but it's still alive and kicking, while I'm seeing issue with the Skype Preview app on daily basis.
Sent from mTalk on Windows 10 phone
I am not sure that is why I did told it to you
I still think that it should be possible to make the old Skype work on w10m. Maybe it's going to be shut down soon, maybe it's going to work only few more weeks, or perhaps even less, but even that would be better than having to deal with that buggy hell of Skype Preview app...
Sent from mTalk on Windows 10 phone
sure, waste more time
I understand you point of view, but if somebody knows how to do this, or if somebody has the correct .xap file, I don't see how would that be a waste of time. With the right file I'm asking for it would be done in few minutes.
Please, if there is somebody who can tell something helpful, please do. Of course, an answer like "that can't be fine because of that and that" would be useful too. Only as far as I can see, djtonka doesn't know whether this can be done or not.

1 - Version 2.32.0.48 is the last for WP8.1.
2 - I have no issue to deploy Skype 2.32.0.48 on my 950XL.
3 - Your phone is interrop unlock because xap use ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES.
Thank you for your reply! So what I need to do is to get the latest InteropTool, install it on my phone, and then within the InteropTool which will show up in the Settings to enable installing apps from xap files? And then it should work?

not needed, just interop unlock cap enabled
And for that I'm gonna have to download Application Deployment tool? Asking just in case, to know if there is a quicker way.
Thank you very much for helping.

Did you ever deployed xap from PC to phone?
No, I have never done that. By the way, I have noticed that you have replied to me in the thread vcREG: lumia reg editor + interop unlock. Now Supports X50 device interop unlock too, so I will keep the discussion there from now on.

Could you share with me the xap file for Skype which you have used? Just in case if there's something wrong with mine, which was downloaded from appx4fun.

So it really always that I need to use another xap file. As dxdy suggested in another thread, it could be that this xap file is encrypted, and that I need a patched xap file.
Does anybody hear have a patched Skype xap?

Microsoft Skype_v2.32.0.48.xap
Thank you very much for this xap file. I have tried to install the old Skype on the phone right away, but Skype haven't shown up in the app list. I just copied the xap file to the SD card, and tapped on it, and chose the option to install the app. I haven't seen any error message this time though. I tried it several times, after restarts, and with different settings in Interop Tools. Still not showing up.
I have also tried to do this with Skype Preview being uninstalled. How about you, do you have both version of Skype on your Lumia 950, or you had to choose between those two? Or you chose not to use Skype Preview after making the old Skype work.
Could that be that I the phone hasn't been interop unlocked yet?
Again, thanks you very much, guys, for helping!

no, you must deploy XAP file from PC to phone (phone must connected via USB)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71269427&postcount=264
use tool from step 4
And in that case interop unlock wouldn't be necessary? (I mean hypothetically.)
Thanks, I will look into that tomorrow evening, or the day after. I won't be able to try it sooner.
