Ooo very nice

Nice speeds. But you should post them in the LTE sticky thread. This one will probably get locked.

Just a few tests over the weekend while on the highway between North Central Illinois and Indiana.
Overall pretty good, but a few really good spikes... 34.9 Down is nice

Damn you people with 4g
Chances are I'll have a s4 before I get lte

In NYC? Really? They're rolling it out there right now. There's good coverage in the Bronx according to Sensorly, and there is progress in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Unless you can somehow get a hold of an S4 in the next 3 or 4 months, I doubt you'll have the S4 before LTE.

I'm in the Bronx and I would say about 80% of the time I can pull LTE

Hey, I don't get it where I am normally... (Home nor work) which is really depressing... EVERYWHERE else that I go that is slightly outside of the norm though it seems to be 4G heaven...
I live on the outskirts of Marengo, IL and looking at the 4G coverage map is really depressing... we're like... in between rockford and elgin, which... both have 4G and it reaches JUST to us... but drops out between... how aggravating.
It was silly, I went down to my Aunt's in Indiana for Xmas and got 4G like the WHOLE trip between my house and her house... At my house... 3G/1X... At her house... Barely able to maintain a 1X Data connection at all, I just shut it off... Literally a mile away from her house... back in 4G land... like... wtf! Same thing with my parents house in Plainfield... The ENTIRE way down there... 4G... her house? Barely getting 3G... Sprint just hates me and my family. Lol.
They have told me that they are working on the towers near my house though, so that's a plus, and on top of that the CS rep told me that they put a mark on my account that when it's complete, I can call back in and have them credit me for the "down" time. So again, will be nice to have a month or two of 4G for free when it's done.

Please post LTE discussions in the LTE Sticky thread
Thanks
FNM

Ditto, I live in Ohio and my last speed check on 4G was almost 20 mbs down/15 mbs up.
In Fort Myers I've had less than desirable 4G speeds.

Good luck with that... Maybe they'll stop spending money on socialistic values and give you good folks technology.

3G & 4G results. I'm just south of West Palm Beach. It seems pretty consistent in this area. I've had it for about 2 weeks now, so far so good.

I am vacationing with family in York county in VA and just did a test. I got 5268kbps down and 811kbps up. No where near as good as my speed in Ohio but better than what I saw on your results. You would think that in a metropolitan area like yours it would be faster... meh.

[Reference] 4G speeds

I've always been curious how much 4G speeds vary from place to place. I travel a lot for work, but lets face it, Sprint coverage maps are pretty much a best case scenario or an Opium induced fantasy at best. Post your 4G speeds with a screen shot, (pics or it didn't happen), please no flaming. If you don't have 4G in your area, please don't troll! Hopefully Sprint will get you covered when lte rolls out.
Real simple, get speedtest.net. Check your 4g speeds.
Take at least 3 tests to show average.
Post results.

+1 Seams as though network traffic is definitely lower at night. Varies by tower as well. Just a few miles up the road in Kansas City, I can get upwards of 10M with a weaker signal then I have at home.

I love T-Mobile until I get about 10 miles away from a city center. then my 4g drops off. 20 miles and my 3G drops off. 50 miles and no data at all.
I snowboard a lot and At&t's coverage out in the sticks waaaaaaaay better than TMobile.
I was also in a grandfathered unlimited data everything+ plan that was hard to leave. Only paid $60 a month, for unlimited 4G... But, not being able to use data in rural areas killed it for me.
A friend of mine, who is with Verizon and works for a company that gets 20% off At&t bills, let me use his email to get a discount with At&t... softened the blow a bit.
I will say, if you're in or near a city, T-Mobile rocks and their HSPA+ is just about as fast as At&t's LTE.
That's not bad at all. I checked the coverage map though, and for me Tmobile looked really spotty. I'm on VZW (blech!), but usually the coverage at least is decent. I kept unlimited data, but if that ever goes away, I'll probably be at T-mo's door.
I'm lucky to be in a big market like Chicago, I never lose anything lol when I go to cali and bike or do moto in the Mojave I lose signal, but so does pretty much everyone
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I had T-Mobile years ago, long before Smart phones were in. Couldn't stand them. This was circa 2005. Since then...
Well, after seeing all the rave reviews around here for T-Mobile I've been contemplating the jump. Unfortunately every T-Mobile user I've found in person in the area hates them. And after doing a speed test on a 4G phone... it was roughly 1/4th as fast as Verizon's 3G. Until T-Mobile brings some more speed to Rochester, NY... I'm sticking with Big Red.

Oh good, I was playing with ATT LTE earlier and was getting a constant 32-35Mbps so I wondered how Sprint compared. Those 12s in the previous posts worried me.
Not LTE speeds but nice 3G speeds here in Delaware on the FH05 modem

I have been testing along the 110/10 route from Pasadena to Santa Monica this last week, and things seem to be slowly ramping up.
The downloads have averaged around 6-9mbps and I've gotten as high as 31mbps. So quite a range, and the places it spikes are fairly consistent. So I suspect certain towers either have better backhauls than others, or have just been installed and troubleshooted a little longer - so they're more stable.
Either way, about 30% of that route has a very solid LTE connection on my Galaxy Nexus. Not great, but a nice start, and about a 100x improvement over the 3g speeds I have been seeing.
Portland
Just my $.02 worth,
Portland just got partial LTE 2weeks ago, though it comes in and out at my apartment in Beaverton. It's odd, ill have full bars of 4g, then it just disappears. Either way, I've not seen a speedtest.net test of over 5.5MB down from my sgs3
Sprint LTE speed - Boston area
Sprint LTE speeds in the Boston Area. Download does spike over 20Mbps, but usually stays in the 15Mbps range. Upload is consistently around 7Mbps. Battery life has been fine, I'd rather get less battery on LTE than not being able to stream music on 3g...

LTE in New York (Bronx)

It seems to only switch on in my house, ping is great, but the speeds are I'm guessing being worked on. First one should be LTE, second one H+, third just random speed tests. Even got a signal, however no data, on my Nexus 4.
What do you guys think?

I'm in the Mott Haven area.
I am picking up LTE in some random places every once in a while. Some subway statin on Q line (around 42-59th), attached is a screenshot from Prospect Park in Brookyn

Manhattan Subway platforms get LTE in a lot of stations, nothing on the ground. Queens and Brooklyn are mostly live. Getting constant solid connection in Astoria, Williamsburg, etc.
NYC is only 2x5Mhz market so we will see download speeds on par with HSPA+42, peaking around 30Mbps.
Later this year and next year, they'll repurpose MetroPCS spectrum, and we should be able to see twice the speeds of their current LTE. On par with Phoenix, DC, San Jose, San Francisco markets, etc..
All places in queens has LTE. Not Manhatten and Brooklyn.

It also seems to be working in most parts of queens, and a few spots in brooklyn. honestly, since HSPA is already so fast (i'm coming from sprint) i really didn't notice until i looked at my phone and noticed the icon had changed.
been getting it in Queens for a couple of weeks now, some areas the speed test are consistent, other areas it jumps all over the charts. also seeing it now in downtown bklyn(work), not as fast/consistent there. switching from Sprint to TMobile is still paying dividends!
