How can you remove the NFC icon from the status bar and not just make it invisible? With other phones you can change the build prop but I didn't find an entry for NFC in the AT&T Note 2 buildprop.
Thank you for your help.
Somewhere I found a thread on editing csc properties. I can't recall where, but a search on csc/xml/nfc should guide you there.

This can be edited in the feature.xml file (located in "/system/csc/feature.xml") under NFC, StatusBarIconType should be changed from ATT to none. Save and then reboot.

THANK YOU!!
i can confirm this works on my AT&T note 2 running cleanROM.
this icon was driving me nuts cause it's ugly and clutters up the status bar.
only additional note i have is that you have to change it to "none" then reset your phone. should be gone after that.

Thanks, worked perfectly on AT&T Galaxy Note 2 regular ROM. I patched Google Wallet to use that so have a reason to have NFC on now and that icon was annoying and a waste of space!
Thanks again.

Im trying to port this over to other carrier variants since they dont have it and people want it... If i want to change it to tmobile I would have to add that line and instead of putting att/none should i put tmobile/tmo

Another I'm not sure why in the hell AT&T or Samsung did this. Its pretty annoying, I'm pretty sure we know that we are wifi, and you guys do not need inform us the ENTIRE TIME...anyway...
Flash in recovery. I have tried to test every aspect of the Settings since decompiling to make sure there are no FC's so If you encounter any please let me know.
This should work with or without being de-odedex. However please delete the "SecSettings.odex" file in /system/app after flashing.

thanks for your mods running great so far on stock
On the stock ROM it didn't work until I deleted the secsecurity.odex file. Works like a charm now - thanks so much for solving one of the most irritating minor annoyances on this phone!
Sorry for being a NOOB, But base on the instruction, after flashing it, we are to delete the SecSettings.odex file in system/app.
After flashing it with TWRP, I went into ES File Explorer to look for it and cant find it.....Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Hey anti, are you still planning on releasing this mod to remove the carrier logo from the status bar? Thanks!
Would THIS work for our phone? I am running JediX12 ROM but Im assuming it would work for any ROM and work in general as I poked around inside the apk with ninjamorph and an xml editor and found all the needed things to change. I just cant seem to get it to work and I would really love this mod simply for the SCREEN ON/OFF toggle. I hate that the screen turns on with a text and right now Im using SMS Pop Up to band-aid the problem but this would be a permanent fix! I'm sure other users would love this feature too! Plus there are a bunch of other cool features that could be implemented too, idk why Samsung didn't do this off the bat! Could someone with more experience upload a modified APK for me/all of us?
Thank you
Anyone have any ideas?
Well I know the screen on/off bit works on the T-Mobile UVALL4 4.1.1 SecMms (it's included in Tweaked fwiw), so I would imagine it to work on the international-based ones as well.
I figured it would work but I didn't know for sure. Problem is I can't figure out how to do it...I tried following the directions and I just can't figure it out I can't get the app decompiler to work. I messed with the xml using NinjaMorph on my phone and the things are there to make this work but I don't know how to do it. Maybe I will download Tweaked and just pull the apk out of there.

You are on JediX12 yes? How about post that SecMms.apk here and I'll just mod it for you and you can see if it works? My opinion is it's better to stay on the same base/build with this sort of thing - though that's nothing more than my opinion.

So I noticed today that my keyboard secondary symbols on all the letters are missing. They were there yesterday. Since then, I have rooted the phone, installed Xposed Framework, Wanam, Multi Window Manager, and RootCloak. Somewhere between then and now, they have disappeared. Anybody have any ideas?
I have enabled Keyboard symbols in Wanam and rebooted, doesnt seem to change anything.

Did you both try going into actual input settings and not just wanam to check if symbols are enabled on keyboard?

Yeah I did. I have since jumped ship for the SwiftKey beta since it has an optional number row like the Samsung keyboard and I like the autocorrect better.

The problem is in the feature.xml file in system/csc. Xposed and/Wanam alter that file and remove the secondary symbols. I just backed up the original file then copied it over the changed one after I installed xposed and Wanam. Problem solved.
Thanks for the input everyone.

I'm running 4.3 stock rooted on the us tmobile note 3 (SM-N900T). I had the same issue with both the secondary symbols disappearing and the space-to-accept autocorrect/complete being unavailable. Both after I had installed the Wanam xposed module. After doing a little digging into the xml file mentioned in this thread I found the line that appears to have fixed the autocorrect issue for me.
<CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection>false</CscFeature_Sip_DisableAutoCorrection>
This was about 1/3 the way down in the file for me and was set to true. Changed it to false and my autocorrect is back

There needs to be certain apks on the device, if you are using a custom ROM, those apks may be deleted.
For reference, the dial codes on Samsung Roms seem to be died to the DM APKs. There are about 3 of them

I'm rooted and on stock self debloated and my dialer codes still work.
I know that HiddenMenu.apk is the actual apk that holds all the activities inside it. There then is another service/receiver that actually listens to the numbers being dialed inside the dialer.

This is what I found seem to be related to Dialer codes, somehow:
Samsung DM * (both phone interface and Service)
HiddenMenu
Phone / Dialer (depending on rom)
Somehow these are all intertwined to work together.
The DM apks are responsible for the actual interaction between the dialer codes and the network (i.e. PRL Updates), but are also somehow linked to the function working. Ill play around with the apks a bit more and try to gather some more info.

If this takes care of this for you and so that others can know that this has been resolved, please advance edit the OP and tag the topic with the word <SOLVED> and something in post #1 as well with the resolution. Users have quite the limited attention span, they wont bother reading for the solution, they'll just ask instead of looking.
I'm still not sure how to do all of that I could not find anything in my settings about the dialer if you can help that would be awesome
