Which ROM is best performance wise (not stock!)?
No racism, all ROM's are best...
but still the highest performing ROM (like has good score in benchmarks)
Hyperion
sent from the best fastest smoothest rom for sgy
Hyporian with White 1.3.3
benchmarks does not conform to real performance,
it's really up to user preference on what is the "fastest" "best" rom ever
hope you understand that these kinds of threads are not allowed,
All are derivatives of stock with few tweaks and wallpapers (no offense to hard working Rom makers i know its easier said than done )
So i guess they'll all be same or the difference will be negligible and benchmarks aren't reliable in judging a Rom !
My choice of Rom is deodexed+zipaligned ddlk2
HYPERION 7

I'm usually a flashaholic...
In my experience, Hyperion is the best!!!
Other Roms like JellyBlast is also goid but contains a lot of 3rd party apps like JB Search...

Benchmarks are not a real indicator of day to day performance so this is going to turn into a best ROM thread (it pretty much is already) so its closed before that happens.

While I'm to focus on performance & stability
If you wanna more features you can pick it
Anyway, i will figure it out again
BWT there is new XXLB4 firmware,
i assume it will have good battery life and performance for STOCK
It will be good as a base custom ROM

BTW, how many hours is it?
i'm using KP's optimised V2 rom....tried V4 but had problems with with the mobile data connection, went back to V2 and no problems....been using V2 since launch and i cant recommend it highly enough...
COW Rom
COW Rom v6 is the best atm in my opinion. Had lots of problems with Kerza when I installed it. COW Rom runs stable and VERY fast.
I'm using Black Notes Chapter 3. I did not have any problem up to now.
Although I did not apply V6 Supercharger yet, it is already faster than stock ROM.
I also like it's ICS look
KP v4 non OC so far best stable and fast.

Btw, I made this poll just because I'm still confuse about stable custom ROM, because I hate to wipe data, because to test a custom ROM, for me it took 2-3 weeks, then it will be a review... if it just 1-2 day, I think it cannot be an opinion/review, so I need help from members about this custom ROM so I just took 1 ROM and use it till update comes
Again, I'm NOT telling about which one is the best or vilifying another ROM, thanks

I flashed black notes 3 yesterday. My first custom on this device so i dont have much to compare with except stock.
Supercharged it, installed juice defender ultimate, turned it of for 100% charge.
Since this morning ive used it for some calls and texts, a little bit of facebook and mail, messed around with some market, widgets and apps to get things as i want it.
Been on constant wifi for thee last five hours, and now im down on 62%.
Been using it for 14 hours now. Not bad imo
Using bionic cow v6 for two days now.. Super fast and smooth.. Not sure bout da battery life yet..

I am using Black Chap 3 now. So far I haven't seen any significant improvement on my W as I had customized my previous stock rom quite a lot (Antutu: 3857).
Trying to discharge the battery to test how it affects battery performance now.
You forgotten qzem's GingerIce
N TuxBrother's
Stable Rom for Galaxy Wonder
Speed and Performance of Black Notes Chapter roms are best to me. while cowithgun roms gives you slightly better battery performance
Been using cows V6 Bionic Cow OC rom for 24 hrs now everythings stable and fast.

You still judge the ROM performance based on antutu score
Actually benchmarking doesn't mean the ROM have good performance for overall
Black Notes Chapter 3 maybe just same point with antutu
Have you try with "Quadrant Advance" yet ?
If you have 2 phone to testing you will know the performance differences
That's the real benchmarking test for developer..

Ya, you are right. Good benchmarking doesn't mean good overall performance. I wish I could have two SGWs for testing, but I am poort
I would try Quadrant Advance later.
Btw, Black note rom is really good and stable that suits my usage after using for 2 days. Thanks a lot.

I appreciate that 'best' is highly subjective, but is there any consencus as to what is the best ICS ROM for the Arc S?
For me, 'best' = fast, stable and good battery. Removing the junk apps is good (but I can do it myself) and any extra features that improve the usability / functionality are good. Also, as far as I know, I don't want a MIUI ROM (I want my Android phone to feel like Android and not an IPhone!).
I thank you!
Go for the Mooded ICS or Arconium ICS!
Sent from my LT15i using XDA
There's no real 'best' rom as what you may call a satisfactory balance for battery life/speed may not suit someone else. For better battery life then probably a stock based rom, for better performance then cm9 or AOKP, for theming then MIUI. Plus, the kernel you use, sysctl settings, overclocking, build.prop tweaks etc., and generally how you use your phone will have a say on battery life.

You need to be more specific then that~
Expanding on sinkster's posts. Stock based ROM's are more complete, unlike cyanogenmod (broken camcorder), but i guess its performance makes up for this.
Plus if you feel the miui 'looks like an iphone' then i suggest changing your launcher
and/or themes.
JJ's AOSP or MoOdEd ics. Both ROMs are fast and stable. im currently on JJ's ROM (3.0b)
I am currently on AOKP and its very nice lol.
My vote goes to JJ`s Hybrid Rom
Mooded ICS for me did not worked at all (kernel doomlord v04).
Now, all of them have bugs, an the best choice is that ROM that have less bugs and less "not working" in change log or description. I have found that ROM to be JJ`sHybrid ROM (curently i`m running 3.0b Test release and before that v2.2). I`m very pleased with JJdoctor Rom, everithing works very well , baterry life is much better (comparing to stock ROM 2.3.4 Gingerbread) and excelent gaming performance.
Optimum CPU settings tested by me :
Min freq. : 134 MHz
Max freq. : 1210 MHz

Hey Guys
Its been a while I have been using Democracy and I love it but there is just only one Problem with this rom the Battery life is really Poor. I barely get one day. So I think its time for me to move on. I dont want any ICS or JB ROMS as they are too bad on battery life and RAM comsumption. So plzz could u advice me ROMS based on
2.3.6
OR
CM7.2
I want a fast ROM just Like democracy. It gave me a score of 3817 on Antutu Benchmark WITHOUT OVERCLOCKING .
Plzz advice me some ROMS not ICS or JB ones....

so.. you don't need an specific rom , u need one whit the correct tweaks i'm using itachi's cm7 whit slayd fast mod2.5 and lag free by slayd and juwe's ram manager and i cam play gta3 whit minimal lag sometime whit the cpu at just 921 mh and the run is always 170+ free, the battery life is prety good half of day of hard gaming
and some roms that look like i specificated are Adrenaline ROM and DedianDroid ROM
For 2.3.6 rom
try Enhanced236 or S'perience final rom.they have a good performance in gaming and battery life + they are smooth in their interface
For CM7 rom
Try Jellybread 2.5 , Itachisama's CM7 or Droidgio v3 final they had a good battery life and had a good performance.
I like the Adrenalineā¢ ROM (based on 2.3.6 Im pretty sure since it has the touchwiz ui).
Thanks guys for suggestions. I have switched to enchanced 2.3.6
For this thread, I'm just going to summarize every Rom i used so far and write a review on here. This is just my opinion and my preference. I respect each rom and thank each developer for making these Roms. I'm creating this thread so that people can decide what rom they want to use depending on what they need. Also, this thread is targeted to people who are new to this forum and doesn't want to try out every singe rom that's out there. I usually look for performance and battery life. The kernel setting for each rom is the same. The setting I use for each rom will be:
Min: 192
Max:1200
Govenor: Samsung/HYPER <---- depends
Scheduler: cfq
Now, I use these roms for days, I don't judge on each rom by using them for a few hours. I use them for at least 4-7 days before changing into a different rom.
Just to let you know: I use the kernel that comes WITH the Rom. If I do install a different kernel, I'll post it up on this thread too. Scores are going to be between 1~10.
1. PsiRom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496210
-Honestly, out of all the 4.3 rom i've used, this is the best for me. Never lagged a single bit and battery is pretty decent for a 4.3 rom.
-Decent amount of features, but not as much as the other 4.3 rom's I used.
-Because this is a 4.3 rom, there might be some issues: SD Card problem, Gallery issues.(Not the Rom's fault!!!!)
-It has Viper Audio, WHICH IS AWESOME~~~!!!! Depending on what setting you use, your battery life might vary.
Performance: 9
Battery Life: 8 for a 4.3 rom
2. Jedi Mind Trick 8 :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818305
- Best 4.1.2 Rom out there.
- No issues whatsoever, but I sometimes I get this weird animation lag time to time.
- Jedi Kernel is awesome whatsoever, but if you use Tiberius 2.3, my goodness... battery life is insane!!!
- A good amount of feature for a 4.1.2 Rom.
Performance: 8
Battery Life: Jedi Kernel: 7 Tiberius 2.3: 9.5
3. Hellybean 4.3 :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342057
- UPDATE! love the updates in this rom. It's sooooo active and an update comes out every week at least.
- Not that many issues with this rom and decent speed.
- Everybody said that this rom is awesome with battery life, but it didn't surprise me as much as PsiRom.
- A lot of features!
Performance: 8
Battery Life: 6
4.SlimBean: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428553
-Feature madness! So many features and i love it for that
-Not as fast as other 4.3.1 rom, but it's decent for what it has.
-Battery Life is not the best feature of this rom, can't get through a full day for me.
Performance:7
Battery Life:6
Features:10!
5.MIUI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2308946
-Totally different from other rom for those who don't know what MIUI is.
-Battery hungry Rom and decent performance.
-Features are slightly different from other roms.
-Beautiful design and awesome themes!
-It has a little bit of issues for me. Some apps crashes instantly.
Performance: 7
Battery Life:4.5
Appearance: Beautiful!
6.Shadow:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401000
-Very debloated=more space
-Very good battery life with stock kernel, but I say that Jedi+Tiberius is better, never tried Shadow+Tiberius
-If you want something like stock, but faster, this rom might be for you.
-Not that many tweaks.
-Very Stable
Performance:8
Battery Life:8
7.United Basics :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2481542
-If you want the 4.4 experience, This is the one.
-Smooth with all the 4.4 goodies, but not 100%stable.
-Got some RR's.
-Some performance lags
-Decent Battery life.
Performance: 7
Battery Life: 7
8.D.I.R.T. : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374223
-Buttery Smooth~
-No RR's so far! No Sd card issue, no Gallery issue(at least for me).
-So many features......
-Battery Life is amazing with the suspend action in Rom control!
Performance: 9
Battery Life: 8.5
Stability: 9
Now, these roms are just what I've used so far. I will try out different roms time to time. For right now, I'm switching between Jedi Rom and PsiRom. If you want me to try out a rom, leave a post below and I'll try it out for a couple days. Again, this is just my opinion. Your opinions might be different for each rom and I respect each opinion. I will keep this updated every time I install an updated rom or new rom I've never tried.
Even though it's your opinion. Will give you first thanks for the effort.. Keep it coming.

Hello guys , so I crated this poll , just to see what people use the most, and meaby let others decided which rom to download too , and which rom is the best
Have Fun Voting
-CM 4.0.4 is still the best for me..IPRO's minimalist rocks! :good:
-salute!
still with CM9 here!
Best ROM for me CM10.1 :good:
Stable ROM ( less bug but extremely slow :silly: ) Stock ROM
10.1 is a great stuff, im using 10.1 beta 1 + hurtsky kernel, smooth ....
Well I always prefer the latest version of an is so CM11...LOL:laugh:
Hello Wonder users
wow
I remember when I first became flashaholic was when I using my i8150.
Anyways my personal opinion is GB rom was the best overall for speed and reliability. My favorite was Black Notes v2.
I know you cant have for instance, BBM..so another alternative I found to be best was CM9 based (4.0.4). You can use BBM and other most apps upto date, although battery consumption is slightly higher but not as much as CM11.
Guys just a reminder..be sure to purchase a new battery as it is high time to replace it..in order to experience the best out of your favorite ROM.
All the best for xda and galaxy wonder users in particular.
Cheers.
Yusuf
