ministry of sound have had a bluetooth headset out for a couple of years now. i dont know its capabilities but i know it does work as hands free with the headunit doing all the muting ect. i'm guessing it could also do audio in theory but i'd be wanting hi quality stereo profile capable.

Nice find, but neither of those units support A2DP or AVRCP, and as you say, what we all really want is the high quality audio with the control functionality.
Hi,
Since the ExtUSB connector is mono (or at least that is what I have figured out from the schema) I am looking for a bluetooth or wired device that will have a mic (3.5mm) connector. I would like to record with my TyTN II.
Any of those out there?, I have been searching for hours with no luck.
I want to use my Sony ECM-DS70P stereo mic (no amplifier) to record.
I would be perfect if the same gizmo would have a 3.5mm out connection for headphones.
The thought is to stream audio data out to a server for live stereo sound (live music, open spaces, etc). Mono could do, but the difference is enormous on the mono mics I have tried, the sound space is lost.
Another solution would be to get an mp3 player with bluetooth such as the TEAC MP-500BT, but I don't know if they will work together and if the TEAC has an amplifier for the line-in. And why have 2 devices anyways?
Thanks,
- jorge

this is the closest i've seen
guess you could go DIY but i suppose you had to deamp the signal to avoid it to overstear the mic in the pda
I thought about opening up one of these and soldering a 3.5mm connector on the mic wires but then I found out that the ExtUSB connector is mono. That is why I thought that there may be easier to go bluetooth.
- j
yeah all mics in all pda's are mono it really make no sense to do stereo with only 1 mic
you can just use one of the lines and ground to connect a mic
if there is a bluetooth device which meets your requirements i've never seen it
nor do i believe the market is big as recording 1 audio source in stereo dont make sense stereo is for more then 1 audio source
so if there is a bt device i'd say it's a nitche product which will likely cost
Makes sense. The difference between Sony ECM-DS70, which is a low budget (EUR 50) mic, and recording mono with pricier mics is huge, the detail is better on the mono mics I tried, but I get no sense of space which is what I am aiming at. Thus I need to get the sound into the tytn somehow.
i looked everywhere but i did not find anything. can gnex stream music to bluetooth devices with apt-x? htc one-x has it according to their website.
so, is it possible to integrate it via kernel or library file or is it a hardware thing?
i really like to listen my flacs loseless with my samsung hs3000 bluetooth headset. appearently with apt-x, music quality is like a wired headset ( according to samsung website)
if anybody wants more information, check this wiki page for apt-x
Anyone? I think this would be a great improvement for our phones. But it seems nobody has an information on this. I will research more and if i find anything, i ll let everybody know here.
Pretty niche question I guess given the lack of replies but one I'd like to know the answer to as I'd like to stream audio out to a QED uPlay using this codec. If you find anything would appreciate if you post back.

This guy seems to be having good luck improving avrcp to the GNex. I doubt many people are aware of the Apt-X codec.
here is an interesting read on future of apt-x
Is HTC's StereoClip The Future of Bluetooth Audio?
I would also love to know whether this is possible or not. Were you able to get any clarification?
Thanks!
Can't find an answer to this question, too.
If the Nexus would provide apt-x, it would be my new phone.
EDIT: It seems, that Bluetooth 3.0 is good enough for apt-x, so I guess there's no hardware limitation for the Nexus.
@ the Coders: Plz implement the apt-x Codec into the Nexus. I wanna stream hq-music to hq-speakers
Doesn't look good

Awesome post. I've got into this Apt-x thing, as I hate bluetooth (for audio). What a totally lame idea it is for any kind of quality. I just refuse to use it. Not only does it sound terrible, but it's a pain to use. Now comes this apt-x thing, which seems like a good step, but limited acceptance.
BTW, the Foxl is awesome, and now with this apt-x it's even better. Unfortunately, it costs a WHOLE lotta cash. But 'maybe' worth it. I have the v2 and really like it. it's unbelievable what this can do. I'm going to be getting the Galaxy note 10.1, so it's good to see that at least has it. I was hoping my Nexus 7 would, but alas it's not so.
Is there a possibility now for Gnex? BT3 is good enough and Samsung has licensed apt-x (works on S3)
BTW, the Foxl is awesome, and now with this apt-x it's even better.

Hi
Could it be the future is just a software port?
Any help from a developer welcome:

I currently have a wired pair of headphones connecting to a bluetooth receiver to listen to audio from the FTV 2 while on my bed. There is some interference and depending on where the receiver is placed, there is an occasional drop in sound for a split second, that reoccurs every 6 seconds.
Thus, my next best option would be to spend $50 on the Amazon's second gen Gaming controller that has the headphone jack. Wifi Direct is better than Bluetooth, but from the recent experience with my 2nd gen remote and there is very limited reviews regarding the audio on the headphone port.
So has anyone that purchased the gaming edition tried out listening to videos / audio / gaming sounds via the headphone jack on the controller?

I've been using the game controller headphone jack connected to a pair of AKG Q701 headphones. It sounds fine, no drop-outs or noise issues, but the level is a bit low. These headphones have low sensitivity and I normally use a booster amp when I connect them to my phone or tablet, so I don't think the low audio level is Amazon's fault. I did test a pair of high sensitivity in-ear headphones on the game remote and they were really loud, but they sound like crap compared to my AKG headphones.
Last night I was was using a pair of Bluetooth Sony headphones with e the Fire TV. They sounded great, but there was a noticeable delay between the video and audio. I did not notice the delay when I used the headphone port on the game remote.

I've been doing this as well. Th sound quality is great, but it sacrifices the controller's battery to the point that it really isn't economical. IF there were a rechargeable battery for the controller (I'm speaking of a controller dock instead of rechargeable AA's) then it wouldn't be a bad option. As it stands it's okay, but not ideal.
Maybe Amazon will come out with a rechargeable battery? Sort of like the XBone controller?
TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver, 2-In-1 Wireless 3.5mm Audio Adapter (aptX Low Latency, Pair 2 At Once, For Home / Car Sound System)
This is by far the most useful product i have reviewed in a long time, If you’re like me and some older electronics such as a tv or stereo or even a car stereo without bluetooth then this TaoTronics Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver is a perfect product for you. If you know how to pair devices to bluetooth then you can add bluetooth capabilities to your electronics that were lacking this feature. Another feature i liked was you can enjoy a latency lower than 95% of other devices with aptX Low Latency technology; end-to-end lag time is now 40 milliseconds so high-definition video is transmitted without problems. I use this device on my older tv and a great feature of this TaoTronics 2-In-1 Bluetooth 4.1 Transmitter / Receiver is your able to pair Two Bluetooth headphones or speakers at once but please be aware aptX Low Latency does NOT support Dual Pair mode. The transmitter comes with a micro USB cable for charging, a 3.5 mm stereo jack for devices without bluetooth, and comes with a AUX stereo jack for older devices and you can use the device while its charging virtually removing any “down time”. You will be as impressed as I was with not only how easy this unit is to set up and use but most impressive is how many uses you get out of this unit, one of my favorite products I have used in a very long time.
