Hello,
my HTC One V has a problem with the app installation.
If I want to install apps from Google Play there is an error. It says: "Not enough free memory" or in german "Nicht genügend Speicherplatz verfügbar". But I have over 5GB free space.
Whats the problem?
Please have a look at the screenshots.
See your second screenshot:
Total Space : 0.94GB
Apps : 832MB
Available : 129MB
The available space needed for Play Store to work properly is around 140MB.
Go to Settings - Apps - On Storage - move some files to Storage Card to make more space available for Play Store
Apps installation will go to internal memory, not on sdcard that you still have 5GB free.
Thank you!
But how can I install apps to sdcard?
@ckpv5: but ck some apps are by default directly stored on sdcard. like i installed xda app and it was by default stored on card...why so??

That's depends on how the dev set the App Install Location in it's manifest. If it is set preferExternal; the installation will go to sdcard.

Hello, the game might refer to your internal sd card, not external sd card
step by step
Games and applications can be installed on your internal SD (your phone memory) or your external SD. apps are installed on your internal SD by default. for moving an application from internal SD to external SD here is your steps:
settings -> applications -> manage appications -> (select your app) -> Move to SD card (button)
one of the other reasons that got this massage might be that your internal SD is full, but how it happens? when you download an application and install it, the application source will stay on your phone. it is because when you used a paid application, and for any reason deleted the application, next time you want it, you won't have to pay again. but if you download many programs and install them (or install and then delete them) source file of app will stay on your internal SD and it will get some space. browse a little in file manager app and you will find some of sources you don't want to.
be careful if you rooted your phone, maybe you delete an application that is necessary for your phone. only delete apps you know.

This is nonsense. Information about your paid apps is stored in the cloud, on Google servers. You can even change your phone for a new one and you will be still able to download your paid apps stored under your account.

ninmanr telling the same stuff as you..
Let me make this clearer... Every apps leave what we call caches.
So there's four type data stored in your phone when it's installed:
APK at /data/app
data folder at sdcard (if created by app)
SQL DB entry
Cache and Configurations
Your best bet when uninstalling a program is clearibg the cache first, clear data, then uninstall.
But I believe you can do more when rooted. CMIIW
hello everybody,
I want to remove maps from my Galaxy Ace s5830i because I need to some space..
I use root uninstaller " pro version " to deleted ( with street view of course ),
It's work ! so I deleted !
but even it's removed there is any change in internal memory !!
what's the problem ?
, are there any file that I need to deleted ??
Is your phone rooted? Did u reboot after uninstalling? And if you are removing the system app there won't be much change in the internal memory.

yeb, my phone is rooted.
I think there was a little change when I removed another apps, but with maps no change !
of course I restart my phone and it's same!
Maybe there is the dalvik cache in /data/dalvik cache which occupies space in your memory

I try to delete cache and dalvik cache by using cwm,
then I got more than 10 mb!
but then I have problem with root and super user !!
Use ES File explorer
root / mount system
look in /system/app
for maps and del it
Why don.t you use link2sd to link your apps to sd card?

removing system app wont increase your phones internal memory
For more internal memory use scripts like Cronmod or Amarullz

Uninstall GOOGLE MAPS S5830
Hello,
The only way you can uninstall Google Maps from your S5830 is :
1) Phone needs to be rooted (search here how to root, its easy and not harmfull,)
2) Download Titanium Backup from market free version,
3) Open app, Go to batch, then go uninstall all system and user apps,
4) then go deselect all, slide bottom, select only google maps,
5) RUN !
Enjoy !
titanium backup is a verry usefull app that every rooted phone needs to have it ...
u can also download ADD FREE from market, and play games without commercials and ****,
if u have any questions, pm me !
laters
:highfive:
you could download root browser lite from the Play Store and navigate to your system/app folder and remove the file from there. this is how I removed all useless apps from my device.

I searched on XDA... and found no concrete answer.
It is safe to clear the data on the MtpApp app on my rooted R800a?, it is using about 25MB of internal memory right now...
And due to the Google Maps (14MB), Google Play (10MB) , YouTube (10 MB), Office suite (10 MB) and Adobe Flash player (8MB) update and the Google services (3MB) "AUTO INSTALL" every day after I remove it ... and the Bruce Lee Game (11 MB) which I can't uninstall (even rooted it tells me something about the APK.) I'm in costant frustration with the LOW SPACE alert sign... (do you know you can't received or send Gmail when you have that FreakinG alert sign?)
I have removed all the bloatware and some games.... but now Im sacrificing beloved my games... because I have no SPACE...
Can anybody give me any hint about this MtpApp... also... any other thing I can do to gain more internal space.
Thanks
Convert all the google apps (except google play) to user apps using titanium backup and then move them to sdcard.
Also do the same with flashplayer, office, pre-installed games ect.
All games can be moved to sdcard with titanium backup
I got a Play off eBay recently and had the same space issue. I installed Link2SD, created a 2gig partition for it and now have plenty of space.

Hi there, I tried yesterday with the Titanium Backup I have installed but it says I need the donate version to convert the google apps to user apps... guess I have to pay for this solution.
Also Im close to switch my SD card... so it will be a better idea to make this after I change it... do you know if it possible to just "COPY" the SD card data from the one I have to the new one I just purchased and not cause any glitch?
Thanks for your comments and suggestions You may have gave my Xperia Play another year of life.. :
Also, clean up and integrate dalvik cache with titanium backup. I've tried this and I get more internal space too. One more, integrate system updates to Rom. This will save a lot of space.

I did that from my original 8gb to a 32gb and everything was fine
There is a 2GB file in my internal storage and I need to search for it and delete it. I went through all the files and did not manage to find it. Any help? Is there an app which do this? I went to the storage settings and under the miscellaneous files and as a total I have 2.25 GB and if you add the slecific files under it I bearly get 250 MB.

There's an app on the play store called Clean Master which can list all large files in a particular storage.

that is because a minimum amount of storage should be free for the system to run smoothly (i.e store cache files as well )
hit thanks if it helped you!!!!
