The phone audio is very good itself, beats audio makes it better, and if you have good headphones its even better

I'm using Rockbox to play music right now.
Its sound quality is a lot better than stock music player.
You can try it out.
But it is still a beta version so it don't work properly sometimes.

no htc says that a chip is in these phones but also other htc phones have beats integrated with a custom rom like the HD2, Sensation and others
so it should be possible or ?

I don't think you can port it from the sensations. However I HAVE A WAY!
It is just an equalizer that can be replicated with DSP Manager

What you really need to do is....Go out to lets say best buy...Buy over priced speakers or headphones, and then listen to dre. Then you will have beats

Oh, Volume+ works, because I would have returned my SGN without it. I think I set the volume to +10, which seemed to be the loudest I could get without distortion. Your mileage may vary.
In regards to using V+ for tweaking the trebles and the basses... I played around with it for about 30 seconds, and it definitely works.

Right I forgot to say try to mod them into your device
It seems that supercurio is working on voodoo sound for our GN's (which is far superior to beats sound) so I'd wait for that. I don't get the hype with those things, I am a sound mixing engineer and they sound nothing close to studio monitors. I'm sure the sound could be emulated with a dsp app, but dsp manager doesn't work on my Nexus

beats audio. another example of how marketing works. there's always a sap for that.

Volume + works ok for volume, but the beats EQ, bass boost eq, have little to no effect on bluetooth audio.
DSP manager from CM really woke up my car stereo with super deep lows and no distortion.

There is a mod available, but I find using DSPManager better. I'm not a fan of so much low-end on the Beats Mod.

Beats Audio is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. There is nothing better about the audio hardware in the phones that have Beats compared to those that don't. All that Beats is doing is putting an EQ curve in place that emphasizes the low end, giving you more bass. Odds are it is distorting the music rather than enhancing it.

This. Beats in phones is not like it is in things such as laptops, where hardware has also been enhanced.
Volume+ has a beats emulator.

There was a test on a other Website some time ago, showing Beats Audio for Mobilephones - e.g. HTC Sensation - does nothing...only EQ settings...so DSP Manager works well too.
you can flash glados kernel
and use franco kernel app or glados control app
then goto sound settings
you can imrove sound performance
then buy poweramp & ENJOY !
is there anyone working on this tread?

Anybody coming from Sensation? What is your experince with Gnex when comparing against Sensation?
Things that are most important to me are:
Camera, GPS, Screen quality, Reliability, Call quality.
Can anyone who had a Sensation and now owns a Gnex comment on these?
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I came from a sensation all all the things you mentioned works fine, including BT.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I did, and in my opinion its an upgrade. The only problem that I have is the sound (ringtones, call quality) is low. The screen is nicer than the sensation and the phone is lighter, no problem whatsoever with the GPS. And it has a great community working on development if your into rooting and such. Plus already rocking jelly bean. Which is an upgrade in os.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Oh yeah camera is as good maybe a little better than the sensation.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Thanks for the answer.
Can you tell me if the camera takes good quality pictures since it is a 5 mp camera.
Can you or somone else elaborate on each of these when comparing to Sensation?

It was low on the Sensation already.
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I don't take a lot of pictures but do believe the picture quality is better than the sensation but that could also be that the screen quality is a lot nicer, and as far as the call quality its a little worse for me but I'm on Tmobile and live in lousy reception area.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Imho camera on sensation was better that is all Gnex is a definite upgrade for me screen is much clearer I really can't think of anything the sensation could even come close in comparison not to mention the ease of unlocking rooting and running the latest and greatest from Google when it drops from source not ported the best thing I did was switch from HTC to the Gnex my calls are clear and Imo better gps spot on quick I sold my sensation about 1 week after getting Gnex

I have just come from the sensation a week ago and haven't looked back, its simply in another league, I also chose it over the s3 and one x which imo were a massive disappointment

Gnex is the best phone, better then sensation. Cause its 100% android no tweak means more fast in terms of sotware. And the UI is clean. Faster update best screen quality.what else do you want?

It sounds like a you're more interested in the camera aspect of the phone. The sensation has a better camera then the GNEX. But the GNEX is far better in the software department. I came from the sensation and was blown away on how easy the learning curve is for ICS and now JB. But if I was going to choose camera over updated software, I would have you upgrade the HTC One X. That phone is a solid shooter and you're already used to HTC sense

Came from sensation about two months ago and I have never looked back, best choice I ever made the camera is actually better cause of the lens and fact that there is no shutter lag I still have my sensation and sometimes I will play with it and it doesn't even compare, go for it

There are some custom rom for DHD include beats.
I don't know why DHD can use Beats.
Doesnt HTC one series have special hardware tip for beats?
Is beats just an software equalizer ?
HTC one series' beats is worthless if so.

Yes beats is just software equalizer. I really don't see the hype but people are obsessed with it right now. You could literally get the same sound by setting eq levels yourself. The app volume + has an eq setting for beats in it and I have used that side by side with beats and it is the same.

I've always asked the same question to myself. I believe it is some kind of software equalizer, but you will notice it better with the corresponding hardware (those famous expensive Beats headsets). I'm not to much into music listening so I can't tell the difference.

That's actually been proven false and I think HTC and dre have gotten some heat for it. Any good headphones will work. They don't have to be beats headphones.

Yeah, more like "look at me, I'm wearing ultra expensive headphones".
Dr Dre was one of the richest celebs last year because of how he ripped off HTC and I guess HP with this gimmick.

HTC phones are the first and only smartphones to give you legendary Beats Audio sound. Customized Beats by Dr. Dre headphones also come with select devices.
Authentic Sound. With Beats Audio, your sound is truly an experience. Play games, watch movies, listen to music, and hear every detail. Plus, access your apps, libraries, and Internet radio in one place
Dolby or srs sound more better than beats with headphones like akg or sonny..

Ok the earphones/ headphones are just to expensive. But you are talking about Beats Audio. I've tried...and there is no equalizer like Beats. I've tried with an eqaulizer. I suggest trying it yourself...you WILL...notice the difference in the music in-ear headphones only.

I have tried beats audio and headphones on my friends rezound phone. I then tried the beats setting in volume + with my headphones on my inspire. Sorry but mine sounded better. I wanted beats to be cool because I thought it was a neat idea but it turns out its just a bunch of bull. If you can find a program that will set your eq settings at the same levels then you will get the exact same effect. The reason mine sounded better is because my headphones are better than beats headphones. So the end result, good headphones equals good sound. Eq levels are just that.

That's what I meant, beats audio with better headphones not the crappy beats headphones.
