I have been trying several programs theoretically supporting video call but none of them allow my Galaxy Y to broadcast video. I have been testing Skype, Yahoo (the video plugin is not even in the market for GY), Fring, google talk... So far nothing. I wonder if there is a program allowing 2 ways video call. Any suggestion?

It's true that it adds to weirdness but when we dont have a Front camera then we should apply some brain and act as we have a FC too what say ??

tango uses a 3G connection but in real ,video calling costs!
Seems annoying to video call via back camera how u see ur gf/or friend if u are using back camera for video calling
Hemh it like kinda crazy if we must stand up infront of mirror to see videocall
Lol...

First of all thank you for answering, I will dload Tango and test it asap.
About finding a video call without a front camera "weird", well... try to use your imagination. Imagine, just for example, I want show to somebody my new garden. In this case a back camera is not weird at all, even... it makes perfect sense.
Don't you agree?

Does anyone know a way to record calls on jellybean? This is a really huge issue for me, "Total Recall" works on the stock touchwiz rom (rooted) but everyone says it doesn't work on jellybean.
has anyone found any app that records the calls?
Search xda for skvalex call recorder. You can download a trial version in his thread. I think the full app is $10 though.

There's lots of good reasons to have call recording. It can be handy for things like calls to customer service/support, and it can be absolutely life-saving when it comes to some legal matters, bad relationships, etc.
Its better have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

Thats tru. Guess I never saw it that way.

i use it for whenever someone tells me to write something down, or gives me some notes, or some numbers to keep, and i say "sure i have a pen, go ahead"... and just sit there listening to them speak instead of writing anything down.
and yes, has a lot of good uses for when someone says something on the phone, and then they lie, or do something else, or say "lol i never said that". and i can simply show them the convo if it ever came down to it.
hmm.. is there a specific way we have to set up the app? it's not wanting to work on my phone. every recording is 0 seconds long.
Hello,
Got a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx BR xt910, rooted.
Firmware: GAS_LA_SPYDERICSMAXRETBRLA_P002 version 4.0.4.
I need to record calls simply and with good quality. Already tested dozens of applications, but the most we got was record on handsfree the microphone, which is not acceptable for quality and because it is not always feasible chat by handsfree.
Does anyone have a solution? Do you know if this is hardware limitation? Or only limitation is the software version of Motorola?
I appreciate the attention and help.
Best Regards,
Marcio.
I believe you need to post here for your XT910 things ?
Because this is a XT905 and XT907 area which are different phones.
You share the same insides with a NON Maxx

any idea of an app that would do this? I used to use RECOROID on my droid incredible back in the day, dunno if thats still around or compatible with my M
RECOROID is still around but i think it didn't pass the regulations.
Remember it is illegal to record ppl with out knowing. Or something like that.
That might be the reason it is not found easily in the app store if at all.
So your best bet is look into a modified RECOROID apk version that has that option back unlock for ICS or JB.
Or other custom apk that don't come through the app store ?
Germanese,
In many states like Arizona, it is legal, and admissible in many courts to record a phone conversation. If you are party to the conversation, totally legal.

That's true, but remember i said something like that.
It may be and not here and there. Hence probably the reason of it not being in the app store.
Because it is legal in some states and not in others. So they removed it in total.
But I am pretty sure modding the APK of the old program mentioned would give him the desired effect.
Wouldn't it be the responsibility of the user and not the app dev of whether or not the use of the device was used legally? To me that seems like holding Samuel Adams responsible for a drunk driver... But I'm no expert on the law.

The topic of recording phone calls was recently covered on a Lifehacker podcast. Here are the links to some of the apps they recommended. You have to scroll down, but there are 4 or 5 different apps listed for those interested. You can also take a listen to their podcast for the discussion.

omg.....finally an app that actually worked to record both sides for once (Sanity). After trying about 10 other apps, one actually works without any other tweaks.
Just remember though, free version only records 2-3min. Donate version removes the limits and turns on other options. Even though the app hasn't been updated in almost 2 years, so far its been worth it just to find a recording app that works and includes a good amount of other options.

After heavy usage Sanity works the best of the apps I've used thus far. Has the most input options and highest recording quality. Definitely was worth the couple bucks for the pro version.

So, I have tried 6 different apps from the marketplace, and I can't seem to find an app that records anything more than static. I need this for an ongoing custody battle.
Its legal in my state. So, I thought I would throw that out there before I started getting flamed.
Anyone have any suggestions? I did a searched and found a thread from last year, but unfortunately it didn't work with my build.

If you mean by call recording, why not try S3Rx, deTmobilized, or Dandroid? They have call recording built into the dialer.

...and, what rom are you using? which device do you have? v 510gpe? Verizon? The 500? Are you rooted? Are you trying to use something other than the default video player? Any other pertinent information that we need to be aware of? Like, does the camera work? was it working last night?, or not for weeks?
Nobody can help you without knowing these answers. This pretty much goes the same for any question you might have about your device, other than of course the camera related questions.

To rule out hardware, download another video recording app from the playstore to see if it works.
Camera works yes?
I would also make sure nothing was disabled in settings that would interfere.
Also, go to settings- applications- all, and find the camera/ video recorder and clear the data. Maybe do this first

For future reference you need to give as much detail as possible. Its easier for people to help you. While trying to record a video try and get a logcat. If you don't know how, google search for it and it will explain how. If you still can't figure it out pm me and I will guide you further.
Post the logcat here if you succeed in getting it. Thanks
