Hi all, I'm semi-screwed over and I need some help.
My phone quit communicating via USB, (it was working off and on) and I want to be able to unroot and lock it + restore the regular recovery mode. I used the Mobile ODIN trick to unroot and lock it, then realized I left the custom recovery mode on. I manage to unlock it via USB using the Nexus Root Toolkit, unlock it, and flash it back to stock. (which fails when I boot to recovery now) After that, I tried to lock it again, but now it won't communicate at all and I can't get it to work again. Is there a way I can lock the bootloader without rooting, or root without USB and then use the Mobile ODIN trick to complete it? I'm on Verizon running stock 4.0.2.
I'd appreciate the help.

Ok so my phone was acting up weird on my jelly bean rom on Verizon Gnex. So I went into clockworkmod and tried to factory reset. It did that but then when i tried to turn the phone on it started bootlooping the google screen. The only thing I can access is Clockworkmod now and when I hit the recovery option I get the Red exclamation Android. So I tried to do the back to stock/unroot in Wugs and that didnt change anything. Then I tried to do the restore stock recovery option but that didnt work. Now I want to return the phone to Verizon but I cant since it's still unlocked. And if i try to unlock it, it wont let me because the debug option isnt turned on and ADB isnt configured now since i restored everything. Any ideas?

1) You need to post questions in the Q&A section, not the General section.
2) Do not use toolkits.
3) If you want to go back to stock, use this.
4) Locking the bootloader has nothing to do with ADB or USB debugging. Have a read here to find out more.
To re lock the bootloader is done through Fastboot and has nothing to do with ADB. The code is 'fastboot oem lock'
Personally, I use toolkits as I'm lazy and don't feel like typing that every time, but I would know how to fix an error so its really up to the user.

You're phone is not bricked. You moved than likely just agree not sure what you are doing. You're saying that you are in CWM and can't get to recovery. CWM is a custom recovery. It sounds like you are in bootloader and have the stock recovery installed. Get the android sdk and use fastboot to install a custom recovery (like CWM) and then install a rom. Our you can use fastboot to restore to stock using Google factory images (will erase your sdcard partition).
Hi, since a few days I'm having some trouble with my Note 2's USB port. At first it wouldn't charge sometimes, and after a few tries it would work again. Friday I couldn't get it to charge at all, so I turned it off and left it at home. Today I tried to charge it again, and to my delight it worked.
Now I want to unroot my Note 2, because my custom ROM has been getting slow and so I can send it to Samsung for repair. I've found this guide: http://www.andromods.com/unroot-loc...y-note-2-to-stock-rom-firmware-with-odin.html . However, when I connect the USB cable to my PC it only charges and doesn't connect as USB storage. The "mount USB storage" option in CWM also doesn't work.
Is there a way to unroot the phone without connecting it to the computer? Or can I somehow solve the connection problem?
You can unroot from supersu...
There is an option called " Full Unroot" under settings tab...
Or you could flash a stock rom after entering download mode....
Try re-installing samsung drivers & make sure that Kies is not running while running odin!
Cheers!

You could download stock Rom place it on your SD Card,
Using Mobile Odin Flash this Stock Firmware,
Install Triangle Away , Reset the flash counter,
From Super Su Do a Full Unroot,
Factory Reset from Recovery mode which will Delete all the Root Folders.

Thanks, seems like a good plan. However I've downloaded what I thought was the stock international ROM, but now I seem to have installed a T-Mobile branded one... Where can I find the normal version?
I had downloaded this one: http://stockroms.net/file/GalaxyNote2/GT-N7100/Netherlands. I am in the Netherlands, but my provider is Hi and my device was NOT branded.
I've found this site: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7100, but don't know which region I am in and can't find out via Odin as my phone can't connect to the PC... Can anyone tell me the region code for the Netherlands?
this should help you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31801046&postcount=1
You can download one of these:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=GT-N7100&pcode=PHN#firmware
and flash through odin.
btw country code for unbranded dutch Note2 is PHN
By flashing through odin (PC) you loose root automatically, remember to use triangle away before flashing stockrom, afaik it doens't work without root.
ooooo..stupid me......didn't read...sorry!!...the problem is that you can't connect to pc...hope i helped you a little bit with the counntry code
A few months ago i broke the screen on my N7. I put it in a drawer until I could order a new screen. Yesterday I decided to play with it a bit after finding the tool permitting use with a broken screen.
I could not get my computer or any other i tried to recognize the tablet while in Android. However, if I was in fastboot or recovery I could communicate with the device via ADB. I attributed the connections issues to not having USB Debugging enabled and not being able to unlock the screen. I proceeded to try and modify the build.prop via ADB until I came across some misinformation and mistakenly deleted the build.prop.
I need some help getting the tablet to a state where I can control it via the Android broken screen tool avaipable here on XDA.
Do you have an unlocked bootloader mate?
I believe so. It's been a while since I tinkered with the tablet, but I usually root and unlock all my devices. This Nexus 7 is running Cyanogenmod.

Do you have a custom recovery or not? If you do, you can just dirty flash your ROM again
I do. It's running TWRP. Could you tell me more about a dirty flash?
Get the the tablet into the bootloader, flash just the system.img of whatever ROM is installed using fastboot, done.
Would it be possible to enable debugging and disable the lock screen in the system image before flashing? If not, possible to do it after?
My phone was on stock rom, 5.1.1, and I tried to root it using zedomax's guide (found on youtube here: /watch?v=G5HDG6caoog) but I ended up bricking it.
When attempting to flash the root kernel provided in that guide, Odin gave me a FAIL result, and after that I've been stuck in a blue screen with a message that says: "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software."
So I downloaded both Smart Switch and Kies 3.0 and both have unable to detect my device, and Odin as well.
Can anyone tell me how to proceed from here? I cannot even turn off my phone, with either holding the power button. Holding volume down, home, and power button resets the screen into the same error above
I tried 4 different cables on different USB ports on my laptop, the phone is still not getting recognized. The phone is still stuck on the same blue error screen.
Device manager looks like this:

update:
upon reinstalling Samsung USB drivers and rebooting the laptop, it's now recognized in the device manager and Odin, but not Smart Switch or Kies.
Try flashing the stock firmware from Samsung several times, you may get lucky and return to stock. If you do and need your phone in order to make/receive calls/messages, leave it stock, root is not safe for this phone anymore.
Pp.
I managed to flash it back to stock firmware, however it has triggered the knox count by 1. It's working fine now.
So is it not possible to root this phone at this point?

Hello everyone, so as the title suggests I have an a520f device that suddenly got frp locked after a reboot, and I'm guessing it was because I disabled and re-enabled developer options and forgot to turn on OEM unlocking again. anyway the thing is I tried using Tenorshare 4ukey but it didn't detect my device and same thing with Odin when I tried to flash a stock rom. I tried every possible fix (using a different cable a different usb port a dfferent pc etcc..) and none of them worked until I decided to take the phone to a local workshop and they told me that the data transfer port was broken and honestly they asked for more than what the whole device is worth to replace it. So I was wondering if there is a way to install a stock rom without a pc or/and rooting (directly from an sd card using recovery mode maybe)? any help would be greatly appreciated! and sorry about the long read I just tried to include any detail that might be helpful.

unfortunately not, Is there a way to flash it without Magisk or PC?
In know a rooter app "kingroot" [ I don't recommend for security reasons], which could be root your phone online!
If you can get root access!
you can use twrp flasher apps to flash your recovery!
Can't you just bypass frp?
