i have been looking for an easy way or guide to port things from the other carriers note 2 to our Sprint one....im finding no luck.....perhaps this may be better suited for the q n a section but i dont really know.....it is the same damn phone so there must be some sort of guidelines shouldn't there?

Its not the same phone .... some of it is but for some reason sprint changed the mount point on some partitions ... there are small changes to the hardware it just takes time to do things ...beyond compare is a good program to use when porting ROMs it allows you to compare the 2 ROMs side by side . Remove and replace stuff

he's pretty much right about it. they are different phones. however in the end they are nearly the same. i use beyond comparison 3 and have made success in porting the Sprint ROM to work on my USCC phone. doing this with the international versions would be a lot more difficult though. if you do attempt anything, be sure to use a Sprint kernel with another variants system. it will boot. the tough part is only fixing the radio issues. hope this helps a little bit.
i guess its more like mods i would want like specifically the way the atnt note2 can configure the multi window tab to be any where on screen, top /side whatever......i guess ill just wait till after Christmas when hopefully a whole bunch of devs will jump ship

you mean the same feature that LK8 has? where you can move the tab anywhere you like?
You can already do that in LJC. Just press and hold on the little tab while it is out and voila you can move it wherever you want

question then....can i run this jellybomb rom if i update to the lk8? i figured no.
You just have to have the tab out showing the apps then press and hold on the little tab part and it moves anywhere. If the tab is in it just slides up and down the side

Hello my xda brothers. I just recently watched a hands on preview for the galaxy note 2 and saw a pretty cool feature; Screen recorder! The feature lets you record audio and video of whatever screen your on and then send it as a MMS! The S3 doesnt have that feature to my knowledge and I know it MAY be apps that allow it to be possible, but I was wondering if there may be someway to create it and mod it to be a feature within a rom? I'm no developer by any means, so excuse my "Noob-nish"
Video link for better idea of what im talking about. Jump to 06:27 in video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DcgZum8M1o
It certainly should be possible! Ill have to look at that when I get home! Thanks for the heads up. I saw something similar but it only took many stills and tried to make it easy to put them together for a video screenshot of sorts. Not worth the effort to me.
Though I doubt I'd be sble yo make it work, Id love to try. And there are some absolute geniuses here so im sure itll happen at some point anyway.

I dont believe there is a forum yet for the note 2, the device wasn't officially released yet. But that is a great idea, I wonder if the note 1 has this feature and it can be "ported over" (dont know if thats the right term tho. LOL)

Thank you!! I thought that feature was so cool. The note 2 and S3 will be pretty much distant cousins, so even if It's not possible yet, Im pretty sure some one will cook something up once the device is released in October. If you come up with something, PM me. I will test if needed!!
I've been using this app for a long time.. works on many phones. Need to be rooted of course

So there is a ROM leak for s3 international. It has multi view. Can someone grab the needed stuff and make a flashable zip for 4.1.1 twiz. Multi view allows you to have 2 apps on screen at same time or 2 browser pages. With this on s3 the 3rd party dev potential is huge.

I saw no post for this. I searched. And there is now a s3 ROM with multi view. There was not before. Instead of acting like a jerk, show me where. I try to be a contributing member of xda. But every time I post someone says **** like this. Shut your mouth.
ok
I found your thread........but whatever your still rude. Why don't you help instead of hinder. Mods please close this thread so this guy won't be jealous.
Haha.. I saw the new multi view update for the international s3 earlier this morning.. I was going to made a thread here about this.. but I started drinking.. (yes I was drinking at 8 this morning).. good thing I didnt because of the crap ur getting.. good job.. this is a good thread until we actually have it on our phone..
I made a thread about a car dock for our phone that was 10 dollars.. and I found out it was sold out.. lol I haven't been in back to that thread since.. I don't want to see the wrath they put down on me because it was sold out .. lol..

You do realize that's no S3 in that picture.
It's not that simple guys. Multi window requires many smali edits to many jar files. I don't see it being something that can just be a flashable zip the dev would have to incorporate it into there Rom.

Just saying it would be awesome to see someone take advantage of this huge screen and making it more efficient in going back and forth opening new apps and such in multiwindow maybe even a hole new UI could help make this possible so that it's easier to manage and switch thru the open windows?

No, its not something to ask in development forum as a new thread. All posts in development forum are if you developed a new rom, mod, or script urself. All others go in general section. And questions belong in Q/A.
Sure you can ask in an exsisting thread already made in development.

the OP suggests the spen works with apps, but we just lose the gestures. is your spen totally not working?
AM i the only one who wants to do this so bad.. but is just scared to death to pull the trigger?
Why general?
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
the OP does NOT suggest the S-Pen works. He gives work arounds and blames not having touchwiz.
What boggles my mind is the Dev didn't post this, so what is the OP doing to support it?
Sticking with Jedi, which does work, as a total package. (to include every s-pen app from samsung!)

He does suggest it works with some apps.. but i think it limits its use to basic point and click.. no pressure sensitive , no button
Part of me really wants to try it just because i liked PDroid on my S2 but it also recommends not using recoveries .. plus i just melted an S2 on a JB rom so im a little less adventurous than i used to be.

You might be able to find the APK somewhere or extract it from an ICS rom from another device. I use Beautiful Widgets from the Play Store. There are a lot of different options and themes you might like. I enjoy having the three shortcuts directly from the "superclock" itself. Click on the weather part and it brings up the weather app, the clock brings up the clock, and the date brings up the calendar. This way it saves space on my home screen. You can also have the temperature displayed in the status bar, which I like a lot.
I have a not so stupid/stupid question.
I want to root and flash a custom rom just like I have on every other phone....But I like the Note II. I only want it to be free of all the bloatware and be a little quicker with better battery life... But I still want the complete functionality I have now, including the SPEN. Any suggestions.
