Running slimbean, and getting horrible life compared to ICS and jellybean (no deep sleep?)
Sent from my Xperia Play using xda premium
I've tried KXP and P.A.C.Man. Both really awesome ROMs, but same as you, battery life just isn't where I need it to be.
Honestly, the best ROM with balanced battery life and performance for me has been PaxChristos's plain old CM9 ROM with Keiran's Darkforest CM9 kernel.
I use P.A.C man and I need to charge the phone every 48h.

Ehhhh my battery could be a tinsy bit better but I'm happy with the battery life with brightness at 48%

Battery life in jellyzeus with turbokernel is quite good, but maybe is because aosp is the most featureless rom.

I have the same doubt, why should we do that?
Because some ROMs don't "understand" the stats of other ROMs so its just best to clear them after flash

Using SlimBean,
Screen off, sleep (0% user usage) with wifi : 0.4% to 0.7% per hour.
Same stats as GB while using Darkforest, 0.5% to 0.7%/hour. (a year ago)

Tbh I wouldn't really know, just go to the dev sections and read the information on the Roms in the thread's. I've seen some that say better battery life
Currently using;
Rom: CM9
Kernel: Free Xperia Project
Supercharger at 100%
It is fast as sh*t!

I found CM9 runs well but my only issue with it is the battery drain and lack of camera.
RemICS 1.3 without fix i think is the best, almost 18 hour and battery still about 20%, but the last one not very stable, n the battery not really good too
Battery life should be the same on all ICS roms because they all are based on arco's CM9.

Ummm, shouldn't it be similar but not exactly the same I mean when I use paranoidandroid and CM9 both of them drain my battery alot more than the GB custom ROMs but CM9 drains less then paranoidandroid. Not sure about remICS since I haven't tried it yet.

Well, I've been using Xperia NXT v1.3 for about 3 weeks now and it is brilliant!
I highly suggest it for you
(I also used Gin2JellyBean for a while and that ran fine too, but it depends on if you want a JellyBean look or Xperia S

Thanks again!

Now I'm using the NXT V1.3 and is very stable an fast!
Anyone has a comment? a comparation?

I've been using NXT with doom's kernel and the battery life is awesome! The battery life in dixperia2 was normal.
How's in gin2jellybean?
I'll try NXT more and then try gin2jellybean....
Between NXT and dixperia, at this moment I prefer NXT...
Thank you guy again for your comments!

I'm on Gin2JB.
Nice looking ROM.
Think when you load it with apps etc it can become a bit sluggish. I'm prepping to go to one of the light ROMs shortly which I'm sure will be better for games etc
Yes, I've seen sceenshots of gin2jellybean and it's nice.
I'm happy with NXT, let's hope this rom wont get slow with time.

Howso? I'm trying out NXT right now, and I've actually found it to be slightly slower than Gin2JB
1.2 is bug free and to me has better battery life.
1.3 has some minor bugs and has better performance.
I prefer 1.2 cause i would like my phone to have no bugs

The NXT rom until now is the best.... Jackleboltt said that gin2jelly is faster than NXT, how is battery life compared to NXT?
NXT has better battery life than Dixperia2.
cheers! :good:
I think NXT Rom 1.3 is the best rom available RIGHT NOW for XperiaPlay.
Only 2 (irrelevant) bugs:
1-When u connect the phone to charger AC, phone turns on
2-Camera app doesn't work if Flahslight on QuickPanel is set
I'd prefer gin2jellybean for the looks & perf. If not i can just use its theme on both dixperia 2 & Nxt rom.
Regards,
Sdojoin
Thanx for your feedbacks!
So in bottom line the best roms are, NXT, Dixperia2 and Gin2jelly...
Anyone has used Trueancestor or the Cyanogenmod? or any other GB stable rom?
thanx again!
Cheers! :good:
Hi,
I've been mostly using stock gingerbread on my Xperia Pro and thought the battery life was pretty ok. It lasted at least the whole day. Now I'm using Jelly Sandwich with and it goes from 60% to 30% in just over an hour with no wifi, no 3g, no SIM card, screen on full brightness. That's alot of drainage to me, but I want to know what you get on ICS?

Allright, would be cool to see some comparison of all the roms and the battery life. Wich stock based kernel do you think has the best battery life?

yes, thats possible... but I think maybe the app I use to test battery life (nova battery tester) is running some stress to make it drain faster as well, not sure. I will continue testing

Hi,
I'm looking for the most battery friendly rom for long trips when I'm only listening to music, I don't care about anything else. Any recommendations? Even such hint as is it gb, ics or jb rom would be helpful
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
No such thing as a battery friendly rom. You either sacrifice performance or save battery life.

Yeah ik although there might be difference between gb ics and jb, don't you think?

gb has the best battery life.
I would probably use the cola ROM or any other striped down GB ROM and get a good kernel too idk what to recommend though since as soon as I got BL unlocked I left gingerbread...and set the performance to battery save or conservative and the brightness low and you should be set... I remember when on stock I could get like 3 days on one charge man that was awesome

Use GB Rom NXT LE 1.3 with LuPus GB Kernel
Using No-frills CPU
set governor powersave
set min freq 249mhz
Open Battery Calibration app, charge your phone until 100% and click Battery Calibration Button
Turn Off Wifi
Set only to 2G if possible
With this setting standard battery can last for more than 24 hours (and my battery almost 2 years old)

Do you think that gb with max 500 MHz would be more battery friendly than jb max 134 MHz?

Sounds like iT will but GB would be more responsive at 134 then JB right?? Because of the lack of features
