Unlocking DHD - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks,
I am using the XTC clip to unlock and debrand my DHD. After being stuck at the Jumping to Diag message, I read that it wont work as the Hboot version is no longer compatiable with XTC clip. I have also read about the Hack Tool and knowing my skills I am zero at it.
Please can you suggest how I can downgrade the hboot version only to allow me to use the clip.
Thanks in advance

ok guys,
just wanted to updated after trolling through so many pages and threads, I was able to use the AAHK tool to downgrade the hboot successfully, for some reason it did S-OFF the device. So i Tried the XTC clip again and it let me set the device to S-OFF and also unlock it. It has set the CID to to 1111111 which I cant change to get the OTA (HTC_001) keep getting the .... "INFO [ERR] Command Error !" message..
any idea?

You need to read better before messing your device. The hack, if successful, gives you S-OFF and supercid. Trying to get it again will get you stuck.
That is in the effen manual.

Reported.
i cant find anything in Q&A about HBOOT-1.03.0003
i have tried UnrEVOked 3.32.
i know someone will flame me for asking this, i expected it... if u havent noticed i been with this forum since 2007, and i do know how to use Q&A and i would not be asking a question if it was a simple matter...
unless u can point me to the right tool or guide for HBOOT-1.03.0003 with S-ON, u can save flaming to yourself
Sorry to bring you a bit of bad news... the official HTC S-OFF is a real *****! There's no patch for HBOOT-1.03.0003 out there yet and I don't know if there will ever be one. You can try writing to the guys doing Revolutionary (i.e. Alpharev and Unrevoked) and see if they plan on patching this new HBOOT version.

Yeah, if he has one. IIRC goldcard was only an instrument in rooting branded phones? The error code would mention incorrect CID or something like that.

Goldcard didnt work, it says somthing like no image or wrong image after a bar on right hand side goes up....
also quick question is Reversing CID from CMD is just like 12a456 to 654a21 or is it something else, coz http://hexrev.soaa.me/ gives me some other result.
aka my CID from cmd is
1e41425553442xxxx0058003fd00a5f6 so reverse shuld be
6f5a00df3008500xxxx24435552414e1
and then replace first too with 00
but that site gives me 00a500fd038005xxxx2044535542411e
im a litttle confused :s

[Q] htcdev method error:170 error reason: CID not allowed
Ive search all other this site and plenty others, can't seem to find the same error being solved.
the htc dev site is giving me this error. I just got this phone refurbished from best buy, thinking they gave me an unrootable phone? is that possible?
I tried other ways to unlock the boot loader like the wildfire S tool/simonsutility, that was a little complicated but it still didn't work, I tried revolutionary a little bit but could go more in depth with that one, I just think that method is too old. i was really hoping htcdev would work but this error is preventing me from proceeding.
should i try the juopunutbear? that method is a little scary to me. or what about trying to get temp root and working from there...
if you have any input about the htcdev method, other thoughts on how i could unlock boot loader. it would be appreciated.

go to htcdev and find your current software version and when you go to unlocking bootloader you can find hboot update there.
update it and then you can unlocked it.
ps you need to unlocked bootloader first for doing anything like rooting, custom recovery, updating radio, updating hboot(1.09.xx.xx) etc
thankyou!
thanks....actually when i unlocked the bootloader of my WFS,its hboot version was already 1.09...but my friend's WFS was locked by bell...so its verson was only 0.9..i have already updated mine to 4.1.2 btw!

[Q] HBoot of S-off help.

I'm Stuck stuck with HBoot 1.12.0000 and S-on.
The phone was on Optus Australia, it is bootloader unlocked and has TWRP recovery.
Stuck on CM9 due to the HBoot and I've googled every possibility to get S-on to s-off and HBoot changes.
Rumrunner ends telling me I need to download a different package.
H-Boot update tool fails.
Tried Firewater ( Can't get my head around the cmd prompts ) Windows CMD prompt tells me the dir doesnt exist.
Help needed.
Thanks in advance.

HTC One X Consfusing..

Hi, I'm trying to root my phone but am confused with some things.. When I attempt to obtain my unlock code from HTCDev I get the Error 160. I read this is because one of the newer builds keeps users from unlocking the bootloader through HTCDev (I have build 3.18). I looked around a bit and some of the things I found say I need Super CID to change my CID to 11111111 and then I would be able to get my unlock code from HTCDev. The problem is I need to be S-Off in order to do so and in order to get S-Off I need to have an unlocked bootloader and/or be rooted. I then found a thread with a similar problem to mine and they said to use temp root and then Super CID and another said to use Motochopper. I used Motochopper but it seemed to just be a One-Click Root Method, which did not work. I saw no option to change my CID but the OP in the other thread said he used it and fixed his solution (which again is similar, if not, the same as mine).

Like I said, I get an error when submitting my token, not because i copy and pasted it wrong. I copy it from <<<< Identifier Token Start >>>> to <<<<< Identifier Token End >>>>> but the 3.18 build keeps people from unlocking the bootloader through HTCDev and need to change my CID to 11111111 with SuperCID which requires S-Off which i need to have be rooted/unlocked bootloader which I can't get. But I have found a working temproot and will work on getting S-Off soon to use SuperCID to change my CID to 11111111 . If I can't figure out how to do it then that's fine. I was only interested in this mod for an app which works with the temp root! . As of now I won't be needing the full benefits of a permanent root.
