Hello everyone,
The thing is that I live in Turkey... And bought my imate jam (Magician) from a friend who bought it abroad... And because of a new law in Turkey, all the phones that were bought abroad were closed... And there is nothing no to be done with that... Government does not help anyhow... I used that phone for more than a year but then it was just closed by our Telecom... The only way is to buy a new phone or change phones imei... I have another old phone that does not work but it was bought here and imei works fine... So I would like to change my imei of the phone... I purchased jafwm and purchased credits for unlock, but finally got to know that it does not support magician for unlock... But it can change imei on the unlocked phone... So my main problem is cid unlock... my phone is sim unlocked so there is no problem with that... Or is there any other way to restore imei of the device?
Any solution you know?
Thanks beforehand...
Magician is not supported in this release no matter if you can cid unlock your phone or not. I wrote this allrady in the manual of JAFWM Restore in the day i released it. Just download the archive unpack it and see pdf inside.

Are you planning to add Magician unlock and imei restore support? I really need my device... And do not know what to do... Any solution?

Please test the free alpha tool HTC IMEI Restore Wizard on the forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=59081&start=25
If this tool can display your IMEI, chances are it will most probably be able to change it as well!
100% free, no dongles, no credits, no waiting...
Please don't take this - or even +
Reading IMEI is easy anyway, through some TAPI work.
google for TAPIVBEXAMPLE.zip
you can see;
Manufacturer, Model, Revision #(Radio info) , IMEI and IMSI
but writing is something different because of different chipset issues I think or u got access to
special service SD cards
IMEI/lock database
So promising ; all models with only a one tool without some codes.
Keep cool[/img]

as a real "xda developer" as you call yourself, you should know what is the difference between wizard and magician. This guy is asking for magician solution and not for wizard. If you still do not understand what i am talking about, read in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=340959&highlight=#340959 the post of mamaich, he explain very clear what is the difference between the 2 platform.

That's very funny, Raskal. My product is called the IMEI Restore Wizard. As in the Printer Installation Wizard. Or Help-Me-With-Some-Task Wizard. Such as Compression Wizard, Extraction Wizard, etc.
You're not a Windows desktop developer, so I don't expect you to be familiar with these standard naming conventions used in most Windows programs.
And I'm not surprised you made yourself look quite stupid, if you don't mind me saying so, by misunderstanding what the Wizard means in the naming of my product either! Very consistent with your overall qualifications so far.

I think you should read what I wrote in my first post. I stated that the goal for the Alpha release of the Wizard is to find out on which devices this method works on, and on which devices it fails. I know it works on HTC-Wizard, and I suspect it works on a lot of other HTC-devices.
Raskal, please keep your posts coming - I'm sure others enjoy reading them as much as I do.

instead of writing here a book about wizards, why you not simply say here what the thread starter is interested in:
Does your IMEI wizard works with a HTC WIZARD? YES or NO
I'll answer for you, it does NOT WORK, so releax and don't guess too much
mimarsinan
WHERE ARE YOU MIMARSINAN??
rascal,
sinan and I found the way to change the imei without modifying the radio rom to manipulate the developement imei in the code. (that is another way even if you dont know the checksum algorithm)
now sinan is preparing the sw to be released here for free for people who still suffer like we used to.
So, your answer is yes, the software will change the imei and the checksum without any problem on HTC wizards. without any usb dongle, without any card reader-writer or anything. just a usb-mini usb cable and the sw which is on its way here.
so, please stop argueing you 2 and let people use this program as soon as possible for free.

Bad news for you, Raskal. I will shortly upload the Beta version of this tool. It works on the following platforms:
Typhoon
Hurricane
Tornado
Wizard
Prophet
(DOC G3 is required)
I hate to make you cry, Raskal
You say shortly??
How long before you upload this software?? And will future releases support other htc phones??

I have seen many threads have been popping up with new 6.5 ROMS for other phones. While I know that these are NOT full versions of 6.5 they do have added features.
So my question is ... Are we (The Vogue users) going to get to see these updates.

it depends on if your chefs feel like going through the countless hours of building it and porting it to your phone. I'm sure they will eventually but it's not easy, trust me.
actually nfsfan has already been working on it. It doesn't work totally yet for the vogue (no calls and text issues) but it's on the way.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=54245&page=2
Confilipper has already done it over at PPCGeeks. He has released a beta for Alltel users.
Pretty buggy but it's fast........
Sadly the WM6.5 build 21139 is a fake. The dsms are hexed, and so is the core. The CMHome plugin doesn't work, neither does any of the "new" addons. I ported CMHome which is supposedly a 6.5 component, however its only dependencies that are different from that of the 21014 build are XMLLite.dll and CCore.dll. Running it on 21014 build freezes the phone just like on the fake 21139 build.
Thanks anyways
sorry to hear that you waisted your time working on the 6-5 NFSMAN, thanks for doing your thing as usual.
So are all of these other 6.5 roms that we see all over the place fakes as well?
Im glad to see that we still have a group of good developers (like yourself) who are still dedicated towards bringing us the latest & greatest!
I flashed the so called 6.5 last night and it seemed fairly fast.

It isn't any faster than the 21014 at all. And nothing is new in it!! Many things are broken, because the build is a mix of a bunch of other older builds. The fileexplorer has different icons, but it doesn't look like anything MS would incorporate. Besides think about it... If this was real, MS would be all over it.
Thanks for Sprint 1.08. Works great

Do you think so? I mean, we already do SO much with the latest ROMs that's totally against warranty, contract, ect... Besides, we're all good beta testers!
Thinking about picking up a lumia 900, is there anyone with any knowledge of a possible unlock project going on for it? If not we should start one.

Are people actively trying? I am no engineer or phone hacker, but I would donate any resources I had to help as would many other people I am sure. But I understand it is a large undertaking and I cant expect people to hack a device just because I want custom ROMS

Lumia 900 hacking and development (specially the AT&T branded) is pretty much defunct. Everyone moved on to other models/brands/OSes...:crying:

Yes, It's not only registry tweak.
Because He played with some private/unleaked stuff.
So why he is not going to publish anything upon that.
This "private stuffs" is drivers or apps from Microsoft? He can tell how to take this apps or drivers.
I hope he release the needed stuff to make continuum work on weak/old Lumias. I really need test this hack. XD
I use a Lumia 640 XL. (Sorry for my bad english...)

Drop me a message when you realize that I can't risk breaking a Non-disclosure agreement with Microsoft, without having some sanctions being put in place.
The stuff I used is under NDA which means I'm not allowed to share any of it. Take it or not, that's how it is. And obviously no registry hack will work, I already said multiple time there isn't a single registry tweak to do to get continuum really.
As @gus33000 stated,
He's not allowed to share publicly how he did it, so instead of getting angry at the fact that you can't use it personally, be happy knowing that it is possible while stopping the childish comments. Let's keep it clean in here.
Regards,

Well, if it's really can not publish in here (public), why you give us some leak in twitter? only for tell to us that continuum will working too in some mid-low device? just for inform to us? only for an 'information' ? so, if not. please don't tell to us for before and some people will didn't make that think as a new hope to make continuum running in their device.

Just because something is teased on twitter, doesn't automatically mean that it HAS to be shown as an implementation. The originator wasn't the one who created this thread. As I said before, there's no need to go up in arms over the fact that there's a video showing it, but nothing that everyone can use for the reasons that were specified.

Sorry dude, I didn't mean to be rude or something, it is just I'm working with Microsoft and never get something like a NDA........... Sound weird, even if you are from their dev team....
Anyway, anger was not direct to you but to MS, I bought a 640XL less than a year ago and discover I will have no USB host, no Continuum etc... so, please and again, Apologies from me.
Also, please understand it is weird braging around you did it... teasing people then say you cannot do anything about it, please understand it is frustrating...
Anyway, if at some point you want to release any kind of software/Apps using this workaround, please let me know, I can sponsor you if you need....

Didn't meant to be rude at you, but after all peoples asking for it this is kind of tiring me.
I originally didn't meant to make that public at all, kind of regret tweeting about it too, but I wanted to post about it just to show that it's possible. Didn't thought that peoples would have wanted instructions on how to do it at all. I'll try to look if I can find a way to disclose that, but I doubt I'll get a green light on this. Also about the NDA, you should have gotten a NDA when you're hired (depending on the job), or the NDA can come as part of joining a Partner Specific Program too. And there's also a big reason on why Continuum isn't out for older devices. Miracast support on older hardware isn't great at all, even on newer hardware. The overall experience is much better if you can get wired video output, hence why you find continuum on only USB type C devices.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Continuum on these older devices don't support remote input also, so you'll have to hope to god that you have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse, or you have to do all of your typing and mouse scrolling from your phone.
