One-X not charging whilst powered on after JB update - HTC One X

Hi all
Updated my One-X last night via the over the air update, and thought all was great.
Unfortunately, the phone does not recognise the charger when plugged in whilst it is on. It doesn't work either when plugged into a PC, no charging and no HTC Sync etc.
If I turn it off, it seems to charge OK.
Anyone else seen this and can anyone offer any suggestions?
Would a factory reset or is there an RUU that would work? I assume these would be fine if I have to send my phone off to HTC...
Thanks.

Anyone? Please?
Update- it doesn't charge consistently even when turned off. Left it charging all night and woke up to 3% battery.
Done a factory reset, no change.
Went into fastboot menu and got an error message that 'failed to open USB master mode' before giving the usual options.
Thanks.

You are probably going to have to get your carrier or the place you bought it from to look into it.

Send it in for repair if you can. Mine stopped responding and charging but I couldn't access fastboot at all.

No longer functioning after after/during upgrade

I attempted to upgrade the software version. During the process the unit shutdown. Battery life was well over 80% plus it was plugged into the wall. I cannt get it to turn back on and a "hard reset" is fixing it. I need help. what do I do?

How do you upgrade it and have it plugged into the wall at the same time?
Anyway just try the update again using no usb hub and active sync off.
If it still does not work try get in the bootloader: light button+power on+reset.

Funny Hahaha
How else can I do an upgrade without the usb and activesync?
Essecially now that I can get anywhere but this "Active v1.00" screen which i am guessing is the bootloader screen that everyone talks about
in the screen that says v1.00, whats written at the top portion? Does it say something like USB or SERIAL?

Phone bricked, unbricking TUT not working.

I was updating my Dash the other day to Ookba's latest rom when I received an error message. It gave me instructions on how to fix it (loading it in bootloader etc.), and I received a message saying it was successful and the rom would continue updating. I received another error message saying the rom was corrupt, and the program shutdown. My phone will not power up now. It was at(or near) full charge while reflashing, but will not turn on regardless of the button combination I hold while attempting to power it on.
Any ideas? Thanks!
what rom did you attempt to load in the bootloader? it should have been the factory rom..if not, then that is probably the root of the problem....as far as it not powering on now...I leave that open to the forum...cuz' I have no relevant advice on that one....
when trying to do the gold card method to unbrick my phone, it say Invalid certificate ..? wats this and how to fix it.
I was trying the "[ROM][EXCA][WWE][* 3VOLUTION SERIES *][WM6.5 STD 21854][Build 3VO.3.00.112509]" when it locked up on me, and still hasn't been able to power up.
Today when plugging it in after a week of letting sit, a red led light showed where the normal orange/green led would normally light up when charging/charged. The light stayed on for a few seconds, then shut off. Nothing else though. Any other suggestions?

Red light my friend means your battery is gone, probably your phone is not bricked maybe it just needs a battery replacement
I am having the same issue, except that I can place the battery in another Dash and it boots up just fine, so I am assuming it is not the battery. I will buy another one to double check. My problem is the same as which is stated above. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Just an update to see if I can get anymore suggestions. Hadn't touched the phone since the last post. Bought a new battery for it this weekend and it's still dead as ever. Won't boot at all. Not into bootloader, nothing. I get absolutely no response holding power+cam or softkeys+power.
Any advice? I don't absolutely need the phone as I've picked up a G1, but it would be nice to have this working, or at least trash it if it's junk.
Thanks!
Everyone else stumped too?
Have you connected to the wall charger to see if you get some response with your new battery?.
Just unbricked mine after being dropped again by the girlfriend. Try this, plus usb cable into device, press the camera button only. See if that gets you into the bootloader screen. If so, flash the oem build and go from there.
Tried it plugged into a wall charger for 3-4 hours, car charger for another hour, and computer/usb for another hour. No response anytime.
I'll try the camera only method when I get home later.
Thanks!
Just tried plugging it into the computer and holding only the camera. Didn't work. Tried that, tried holding power+cam, power+soft keys etc.. What's weird is I had the battery cover off while doing this, and the battery slipped out while I was holding cam+pwr, it actually loaded into the multicolor(bootloader?) screen twice, but would shutoff within a few seconds. Now I'm back to no response from it.
Finally got it to stay on the boot screen without turning off, but can't get it to establish an activesync with the computer so I can't flash it. The computer is obviously detecting it though, because I see an icon that says "remove smartphone usb sync".
The phone's FINALLY working again! Thanks again guys! I was a couple of days away from junking the thing! I couldn't get Ookba's rom to flash it, so I went back to the unbricking tutorial and saw that he recommended grabbing the factory rom to flash it. I did, it worked, and I just flashed it again using Ookba's rom.
Took quite a few months, but it's back! Thanks!

Bootstrap failed

Phone was on 20% battery. I put it on the original charger and activated the sync with my laptop. I noticed from the laptop that it stopped responding. I went in to find it off and very warm. It wouldn't come on so I help the power button down and it finally came on. Once it did I got an alert that said bootstrap failed. It kept coming up every so often. I shut it back off . Anyone know what causes this?

There is no bootstrap for this device.
bootstrap is only for locked bootloaders.
Twrp is in my sig.
I am getting this too. I got one of the wireless fast chargers and charged from around 30% and now I'm getting the "Bootstrap failed" popular at the bottom of my screen every so often. It's really weird. 3 day old edge+ and not rooted or anything.

Ok, So if were not supposed to get them, why are we? because im also getting it as well. Point is how do we fix this or is this something thats just going to happen from time to time?
I updated my Samsung pay and the bootstrap failed message stopped appearing. Perhaps it could be the culprit?
But it won't let me; it keeps saying "unable to download". I guess reset to factory settings will fix?
no I tried resetting to factory and it still comes up along with a pink line down the left side of the screen
I just started getting bootstrap failed popup from time to time on my moto g3. Does anybody here know what this really really means???

Phone not charging or connecting to computer with usb cable!

It started yesterday with me trying to charge my phone in the car getting only 10% every hour. Eventually, My battery died that day and then again refused to charge with my normal sony charger or a friend's Samsung charger. It didn't connect to my laptop as well. I have done a factory reset. I've gone into safe mode. Still, hasn't charged. The only way I can charge my phone now is when I switch it off and then hold the volume up and power button till a blue notification light which I think is force charging it. I got it to 100% yesterday, everything works just fine it's just I'm not able to connect my phone to my laptop to reset or fix the software. I'm not able to charge the phone while its on.
I hope I don't need to take this to the service center to get fixed, cause service here where I stay is unbearable.
Hope one of you guys have a solution for me!

Hi, you really need to be a bit more descriptive if you want someone to help
What is your setup? Unlocked? Rooted? MM or LP? Stock or Customized, etc...

I dont think it's the battery or it wouldn't charge in any condition but anyway if you're pure stock try with PC Companion, it might not be charging but it's recognized right?

Mmmh, that sonds more like a port issue... Something happened to the usb connector on the phone itself? It's certainly and odd behaviour. Not having a conncetion to your handset restricts your options unfortunately. Just to be sure you've tried on another PC so you may want to do a SW reset as the only possibility other than taking it in to Sony Service. Who knows, with a bit a luck a full reset will resolve your problem
Did you manage to find out how to fix. I'm having the exact same problem
Three months back i faced same problem. I pressed the back of my phone where the NFC sign N and then press the middle of the phone. After that insert the cable and my phone started scharging. Secondly insert charging cable with sony adpoter and start pressing back side of your mobile on different location. I hope it will work.
Thanks for the tip. I tried and it did not work tho
Maybe the slow charge setting is on? Try disabling all features (auto adjust brightness etc)
Just for giggles try to set to ultra power save mode and see if it fixes it.

Model G3223 - Charging Issues and Black Screen/Flashing White Light at Boot

Hey everyone,
So, I got a new Xperia XA1 Ultra (G3223) through a trade running stock Android 7.0. Checked everything and initially it looked fine.
Over the last few days, things have been acting weird. Every time I start the device, it gives me a blank (black) screen with a blinking white notification light - it doesn't even show me the boot screen at times when it boots. Just yesterday, I got it to boot by pressing VOLUME UP + POWER after being in that state - but, that's not normal. Does anyone know why in the world my phone does that?
Furthermore, when using the Sony charger that came with the device, it takes over 6 hours to charge and doesn't even show the charging sign while charging. Could this be an Android 7.0 bug or is something seriously wrong with my phone? Only one time since I got it, did I get it to charge normal with the charging sign and everything; it actually charged quite rapidly at that point.
Any help would be appreciated with this, guys, because I'm at a loss. I do want to mention that the device doesn't seem to be recognized by the computer, so I'm not even sure that the cable is original.

Try a new cable and/or charger. (I found I had a bad charger once)
Since you had computer issues, I'd start with the cable. Also check the charging port on the phone for debris/damage.

Okay, I'll do that - but, do you have any idea regarding the blank screen issue, my friend?

How is your phone turning on? Power button or inserting the USB cable?
Only thing I can think of is perhaps a stuck volume key placing the phone into recovery or flash mode.
Try turning on the phone with no USB cable attached. Before you turn it on, press the volume keys a few times to make sure they aren't stuck and then power on.

The thing is that it's weird.... For one, sometimes when I use the touch reset/turn off button, it takes at least two minutes to reset, or it doesn't even reset. Then, when I turn the phone on while it's off, the phone sometimes enters into this weird state with the flashing white notification light. I never power on the phone via USB cable, so I don't know, really. Yesterday, I shut the phone off to test it, plugged the phone in to charge it, it wouldn't charge while off, but then hit power on, and then it wouldn't turn on, so I used VOLUME UP + POWER, and then it turned on just fine.
Hi
Happened also to be with my older Xperia J.
Backup your phone (cause you'll lose your data), connect it to a PC (or Mac) and install Xperia companion, then select "repair phone" or something similar (I know the written in Italian version ).
Wait and it will be all fine.
