Hi,
I'm currenlty using a JellyTime build but I have few issues (random restart, battery drained in few seconds and many others). I was thinking to use a 4.2.1 build and as far as I can see the only rom now with the latest kernel is the codefireX . The problem with this rom is that the bluetooth is missing. Is there a way to enable it maybe downloading a third-part app?
Thanks
Not yet, but synergye is working hard

NO MUTE either
The ROMS Codefire put out are very solid, however mute is not working either and that keeps me out. Glad I read all the posts to find that, and its the first thing I test with each release.
Yup, mute and Bluetooth are the only pending issues. The mute issue has been there since a long time (since 4.1.x), but the Bluetooth issue is new in 4.2.x because Google messed up something related to it in AOSP. The Nexus 7 on stock 4.2.1 has Bluetooth issues too.
4.2.1 vs 4.1.2
May I ask what is the different between
[ROM][4.1.2][SR5][2012-11-12] OFFICIAL codefireX Periodicals
and
[ROM] [AOSP-4.2.1] [4.7.3-toolchain] [SR1] OFFICIAL codefireX Builds ?
Are they the same just one nightly build and one stable release?

The biggest difference is that the former is 4.1.2 and the latter is 4.2.1

So does it mean both use different Android kernel and the rest are identical?
I love the 4.2.1 ROM, all I need now is Bluetooth. I can manage without it for now but the ROM will be perfect with it.

Android 4.2.1.
Android 4.1.2.
They're two different versions of Android! Don't you follow Android news?
They use the same KangBang kernel by synergye, although development on 4.1.2 has stopped since 4.2 was started and so the last 4.1.2 stable release build uses a much older version of the kernel. Right now development is happening on the 4.2.1 ROM.

If you're sick of Gingerbread (like CM7), there are plenty of stable and feature-ful Ice Cream Sandwich (including CM9) ROMs to try in the development forums. Aside from CM, there are also AOKP and AOSP ROMs to try. There are 4 decently stable JellyBean (including CM10) ROMs in the development forums as well, including 2 AOKP JellyBean ROMs. I strongly advise that you start by searching in the development forums yourself.
Additionally, I'm pretty sure you're posting in the wrong forum; this belongs in Q&A, not Development.

Is there any particular through which i can find all these roms for DHD?
Secondly, in most of the roms either the bluetooth is broken or the camera is buggy and I use both of these features so that's the reason why I asked for a stable rom like the cm7 because it is completely working and aa stable rom

There is a sticky at the very top of the forum that indexes all the available ROMs and links to them; doesn't get much simpler than that.
I have had no problems with either bluetooth or camera on any ICS ROMs since I first rooted my phone a month ago. JB ROMs recently got both working with minor bugs. READ the threads; they update. Each ROM OP usually includes an updated feature list. Then read at least the last 10 pages or so of the thread.

Back up your current ROM with nandroid and flash it. "Stable" and "good battery life" mean different things to everyone; I felt it was plenty stable, but see for yourself. If you don't like it, just put your backup back.
Has anyone had any progress with booting CyanogenMod 10.1 yet?
Check the dev section, I'm pretty sure that there are some 4.2 roms
Evervolv is updated to 4.2 as well

an "AOKP" ROM is from the actual AOKP team itself. Task650, a dev, takes AOKP and makes mods and code changes. they both come with a kernel from their respect dev/team included
Which one is better in your opinion?

they're both good in their own respects. task's is a little more "bleeding edge", if you will.
they will both run well if you wipe and flash them correctly. AOKP just released build 6 of their 4.2.2 rom. their milestone (official stable release) will be here in april. i am waiting for that as i have been running their 4.1.2 milestone since last october. it runs flawlessly and with no issues.

build 6, i believe, was released with the 3.4 kernel (new) so there might be small issues. again, a lot of things are based on how you wipe/flash. also note that i said i only run milestones, not numbered releases.
I've been using Omega ROM since day one, but I wanna try the stock 4.2.2 Android Jelly Bean. So which ROMs do you recommend me trying? I've heard of PA3.15 P.A.C True All in 1 ROM, LiquidSmooth, JellyBAM ROM, AOKP Unofficial Nightlies, Paranoid Android.. Which one do you think is the best and most stable? (camera working with flash etc..)
Thanks!

Paranoid Android 3 i would suggest
Pacman all in one rom
CarbonROM was my favourite.
RootBox of course
I tried almost all of the 4.2.2 ROMs.
I would say: Paranoidandroid +3.
BUT just so you'll know, 4.2.2 has a problem with the camera. It gets lots of FC or camera gets stuck when using focus+flash.
Carbon is good but didn't understand how to enable tuggels and lock screen. Tried everything.
Good lunch

i have been using for a few days paranoid android 3+, and i can say it works pretty cool, also what i was looking for on any rom 4.2.2 was the camera working, and in this one the camera works well, either flash and video, i havent had any force close since i installed it, before paranoid android i tried pacman all in one but on that one the camera was giving me force closes with flash and video so i changed to paranoid android

Halo will be integrated as soon as PA Team releases the code so it's not really useful to keep PA Rom just for this feature.

What is the most stable rom for captivate glide?
I am currently using the light ROM and kernel. I am staying away from CM based ones as I use the Bluetooth headset for calls.

I used the Kies program to update my Captivate to ICS 4.04... There is still bluetooth...
I guess I'm not quite sure what you guys are talking about, as I've yet to take the leap to install a ROM.
Honestly, I don't even know where to begin installing a ROM, seeing as I'm using my phone to wifi tether and post this... Lol.
If you're just looking for ICS, I'm sure a quick Google search will do it. Or install Kies, and maybe it will let you update.
They are talking about installing a version of Android more current then what Kies can get you.
To answer the question, no. The latest build for CM based builds still have Bluetooth issues.

Sorry to bump an older thread, but if you dont care about bluetooth, what is the latest stable (custom) ROM?
Stormdude124 has a great topic with every current ROM listed, here it is: Everything you need to know and do to your Captivate Glide. I prefer PAC Man ROM 4.4.2, but if you wish less bells and whistles and more free RAM, I recommend CyanogenMod 11 or CM 10.1.3
I used CM 10.1.3 for many months and found it completely stable (easily had 20+ days of uptime until phone turned off because of drained battery) and almost perfect for 4.2.2 ROM, but then I switched to PAC 4.4.2 mainly for externalsd-internalsd swap, but I liked many new features as well. Try different ROMs and choose what you like.
