Any to get those external hard drives powered by the USB port working with our GN2s using The USB OTG cables? The memory sticks work very well with the OTG.

They pull too much power. If you use a powered hub it will work.

I've tried a few different 2.5" bus powered drives and they all worked fine.
Just tried my WD passport 250gb, phone wouldnt read it, it lights up spins but wont read it, any thoughts?

My drive does that. Spins and lights but the phone doesn't recognize it. Ill try a powered hub

If the drive is formatted ntfs you need to install Paragon on your phone in order to read it.

If it's an extension you're talking about the male end of the micro USB cable then just plug the other end into what ever you're trying to transfer to. Or are you asking about a USB flash drive?

What you're waiting for is usb host mode. Dont think you'll have much luck yet. Saw a few posts about it. Here's one..

I don't use Kies, but for some reason, the Note doesn't like my USB 3.0 port on my laptop.
If I plug it into the USB 2.0 port, it connects in MTP mode and shows up in Explorer.
If I plug it into the USB 3.0 port, it doesn't.
I tried reinstalled the Samsung USB driver, and it didn't help.
I just make sure I use the USB 2.0 port and it's OK.

Maybe its something to do with power usage of usb 3.0?? Usb 3.0 use 700mA compare to usb 2.0 which use 500mA can the data be transfer at 700mA?? Maybe someone here have experience using usb 3.0?? I like to know also..

can someone let me know what rom supports this feature?:victory:
Im on lightweight 3.0 and tv mirroring is working find..maybe its the cable or make sure the charging cable is plugged into the adapter...

Ive always wondered about mhl, am I mistaken in thinking both the phone and TV need to support it? So if I plug into a non mhl TV nothing will happen correct?

You'll need an OTG cable and be rooted to use "StickMount"......... You can use "Nexus Media Importer" it's $3.99 and then use it with the OTG cable and no root......... To mount an SDcard you'll need the adapter to plug it to the OTG cable but any USB flash drives will plug in to the OTG cable

That I'm not sure about........ Plug in the OTG plug your Y in, but of course if the Y doesn't have a micro USB port no way to change it while using the OTG cable.
EDIT: Maybe USB from the charger to USB to the Y

I have a T-Mobile note 3 and I just bought it 2 days ago and I've noticed that the phone stops charging when I move it even slightly, and the only way to make it start charging again is to bend the cable so it is straight, again from the end, also it(the cable) seems loose and look's As if it hasn't gone in fully into the charging port, because It wiggles a lot. Please help!!?

Sounds like a hardware issue. I would take it back to the store and get it replaced.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium HD app
Could it be an issue with the cable, because I charged it using a USB 2.0 charger and it worked perfectly?

Solution, just buy a new usb cable, could not be easier than that!
You can use either a usb 3.0 cable which came with
the phone or a usb 2.0 cable, it works fine either way.
Good luck!
OK thanks guys, it turns out the clip on The plug was broken, which is why it wasnt firm when I plugged it in, but I just bought a new one and that solved the problem.
