I bought an xlr adapter for my 3.5mm jack. Then I plug in an sm58. The gain comes through pretty low,but you can compensate with tape machine from the playstore wuth distorting. I know it's an annoying problem.I hope it gets fixed with the next update... its called a trrs to xlr cord. You can make one if u have a couple extra cords laying around.

To get the full power of external speaker, you need to have a dock station for E4GT. What I mean is something like Samsung car holder for E4GT. It has the usb connect port and speaker jack. Connect your external speaker thru this jack and turn on the settings > System > Dock > use external speaker option.
When you connect your external speaker jack to your phone's jack, the sound quality is not good because the output power is not enough to support the external speaker. Also sound quality is not good because it's amplifying the low signal to external speaker.
If the sound quality is important, using dock station would be the best way and don't use the speaker jack on the phone. Use the speaker jack on the phone adapter.
Im taking about the speaker on the phone.

It's upto you. What I tried to talk about was, who's talking the amplifying task.
1. Car dock - both phone and speaker
2. Phone speaker - nothing
3. Phone jack to external speaker - external speaker
Im so confused. Im not using a dock or anything just the phones speaker

Sorry for that. The information above was just related to listen clear music. Never mind about the dock station.
Going back to your topic, it's not clear - which one is which from the volume control in settings.
The easiest way to control all kind of volume is by installing the volume control app.
There is one app can be used to control on-call volume, speaker phone volume, almost everything. Check this link -

Not my question either.

Yes, listening to music on high gain *for an extended amount of time* will eventually bend and extenuate the speaker cone or produce small imperfections and tears, but it should not happen from one song.
One possible answer is a defective speaker. Also not all music is going to play at the same levels, due to the differing encoding types and qualities of files.
A repair store can replace just your speaker, I did it many times a day. It never hurts to go have it looked at.

Yes. That is the basic premise of a speaker. What did this have to do with the conversation?

Thought he was talking about the phones volume as in the earpiece volume

PS I know what "the basic premise of a speaker" is, no need to be a condescending prick.

Does anyone have a fix or is this just something that can't be resolved

What you're hearing is more than likely alternator whine. This happens when a lot of things use the same ground point, or a ground point that is near each other. If you're up to the challenge, change the grounding point of your cigarette lighter adapter. All you have to do is run a wire from the negative battery terminal to ground cable of the socket.
Or, get something like this: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_26692_Axxess-AGL3.5.html
BTW, SonicElectronix is an awesome website for anything car audio related.

Audio chipset / also Usb line out.

I can use the headphone jack but its not a clean source.. like a line out.
I have audiophile headphones and want to connect the incredible to my fiio e17 portable dac/headphone amplifier... the best sound comes from a line out from the usb that will get amped from my dac/amp... then get sent to my headphones. Since i have my incredible sitting around.
a couple of companys make high end mp3/amplified portable players.. the Vamp from vmoda is a portable amp that allows an iphone 4 to doc in it is $600 so thats $600 plus an iphone 4.. Ibasso makes a high end android player with a awesome amp... is $800.. Hifiman makes an awesome portable mp3 player that can drive some pretty hard to drive headphones is $600..
So if i can use a clean line out audio signal from my free incredible and connect it to the line in from my pretty good Fiio dac/amp then i have a pretty darn inexpensive solution to my sensitive/subjective ears.
sorry to get too detailed.. but i am a audiophile with a severely limited budget.
Well, I did not know that. I would think the closest thing you will find is the video output cables to do this job. If memory serves, it is the standard left and right audio channels, and video. Of course you would need another cable to convert to 3.5mm jack, which is not a very clean or good looking method.

Bluetooth Headphones

Anyone been using them?
I have been using the Jabra Halo 2 bluetooth headset, and they work great on the Note 2.

I use WM600, it's good for listening to music, but the microphone sucks, sot it's bad for speaking, too noisy
I use a jabra bt3030, you can use any headphones you want with it. Sound quality is more than passable, battery and range are good too. Highly recommended.

Been using Plantronics ones on SG 2 and now Galaxy Note 2. No issues with sound quality. I have flexible cord ones. Just need to take of them as would throw in my bag and broke one of the connectors (fixed by super glue and now have had over a year).

I've got this http://www.futuresoundlab.co.uk/
Its got media buttons which i thought sends normal commands like a multimedia keyboard on windows does, but no!!!!!!!! found out it needs to be supported by the app which i find is silly. it works great on poweramp but nothing on deezer
The only grip i do have is when im connected although all the audio streams go through the headphones, the ringtones, notifications, system sounds go through the speakers. So if i mute them, which i have to cus im at work. I dont hear them through my headphones. Any suggestions?

Hissing over headphones.

Hi everyone, with my headphones I'm actually having this housing sound kind of like white noise until I crank the volume to the max. For a better example any audio over headphones sounds like when you have a cassette adapter in your car and you crank your decks volume but keep the volume on your device really low.
Currently I'm running Skynote 8.2 and when I first noticed it it was stock. Then I tried the AC!D sound mod. Although I don't think it did anything but now I'm at a complete loss. I get my music through 8tracks but I also have some music on my sd card and I've noticed the hissing in YouTube videos and when I stream stuff over my network on vlc.
Attached are pictures of the headphones I have, I'll also have screen shots of the AC!D mod.
TL; DR: I hear dead people. ...

Well it looks like you paid a lot of money for those JVCs so I hate to ask but did you rule out the headphones?

Yeah I have. I would have thought that would be the least I could try. One other thing I don't notice the white noise with my builtin speaker just from the 3.5 mm Jack output.

Well it's a bummer that it happens on stock and custom ROMs. You may have leftover files from other sound mods if you have used more than one. I know on some mods you have to make changes in your build prop and restart. I am completely stock and I tried two EQs both of those caused a white noise in Netflix. The stock EQ sounds pretty good in Google Music but does not seem to do anything for Netflix it does lack the white noise though.
Edit: Find a pair of headphones with a lower impedance like 8 or even 4 Ohms to see if that helps. I know you tried another set but maybe they had a higher impedance also.
Having the same issue with my Sony mdr headphones. Does yours also loose wifi when this happens?
