I have two questions , I know they are stupid :silly:
1- If I Root my phone then I update to original 4.1.2 , will I lose my root?
2-If I Flash to Custom ROM , Then could I Restore to Original ROM?
Thank you in advance
Yea if you flash the original firmware with Odin you I'll loose root.
Yea can any time flash back to stock firmware thru Odin provided u have a stock firmware for ur country(which u can download from immobile.com) but u I'll loose thru root thought.

Do I need to root my phone to flash Stock roms via Odin? I want to flash the Stock rom and I wonder if it gonna lose the IMEI? thanks guys
Nope. But you do need root to install a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM. There may be another method but im not familiar with it at the moment.
Anyway you can easily dl one of the stock firmwares from samfirmware.com and install using odin. Provided you just want pure stock.
And you shouldn't have to worry about losing your imei flashing stock with odin. I dont recall that ever hapoening. Besides, imei issues have been solved. Just check the dev section for info.

thanks for your reply
btw, I'm on stock with latest Tmo update now. Let say I want to flash stock without that update (stock before the update). how does it change my stock recovery? is the recovery still the stock with latest Tmo update?
I dont really understand how the stock recovery works. after I apply the update, is the update applied to the stock recovery too?
As far as I am aware it will rewrite your stock recovery back to whatever version you are installing as well. So long as you use odin and a full firmware file from Samsung.

You need stock recovery too. Anyway, you can always install new firmware with Odin directly.

Does the flashing a firmware with Odin include stock recovery? Or do i need to flash that separately? ?

The stock firmware a you can get from www.sammobile.com includes everything stock that you'll ever need. Flash those in Odin or Mobile Odin and you'll be fine.
Hello
Could you please help me with restoring my phone to factory settings and unroot?
I read DR.Ketan unroot guide, but i am not sure which kernel/stock recovery to flash.
Also will i need to flash a stock room after that and is there any stock ROM or any way for me to get Arabic language on my Galaxy note 2?
I have uploaded a link of the image with my phones current software details etc.

Thank you for you help.
Yes you will have to flash stock rom and that will take you back to stock kernel as well also use triangle away to reset your counter

Get latest firmware for your note 2 model and region
download it from here
http://samsung-updates.com/
get in downlaod mode and then flash it via odin
its all in one package so you will have to click on PDA tab and select the stock ROM you downloaded ..nothing else needed
If you want to backup your alliance ROM you can do it in recovery incase you would like to come back if anything goes wrong then you would have option to switch back to alliance ROM
