Newbie ?: I apologize if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't figure out the answer clearly after doing a search. I currently have the S3 with Sprint and am using a custom ROM. I want to switch to T-mobile and I know that I will have to get a new S3 that works on their network. My question is will the same ROMs that worked on my Sprint S3 work on my Tmobile S3, or are roms carrier specific? Thanks
No

I don't think you can just flash a sprint ROM on T-Mobile, I mean all the GS3's almost identical, but
The radio is only the difference.

That's the official JB sprint ported to our T-Mobile GS3. And don't
forget to thank him for his hard work
Hello,
I have the ability to purchase a T-Mobile Note 2 right now. The problem is my carrier is AT&T. I'm not interested in getting LTE to work only HSPA+, but will that even work? To do it, would I have to unlock it, how would I do that? Also once it is unlocked and working with AT&T, would I flash AT&T Note 2 ROMs or the T-Mobile Note 2?
Thanks,
Chughes13x
Man, how many of these TMobile on ATT posts do there have to be? Search before posting!
Yes it works, I get 8Mbps down on good days, worst I have seen is 2 Mbps. You will have to unlock your phone, SEARCH for the free unlock. I've seen it posted here, in the N7100 forums and S3 forums. You should be able to find easily. For roms, stick with the TMobile roms on a TMobile phone.
If you don't have plans on going to TMobile or LTE, I would suggest the N7100 international version. More rom development, faster firmware leaks and releases. I also got better battery life out of my N7100. I kind of wish I would not have traded my N7100 for the TMobile Note2. The TMobile version is easier to hack if you want to put it on an ATT dumb phone plan.
[Q] Possibly stupid question regarding the difference between AT&T version and N7100
Hey guys, just wondering if there are any differences between the N7100 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1790) and the AT&T one? Is the Rogers one the same as the AT&T one or the N7100? Aren't they supposed to be the same phone? On GSM Arena, for example, it says the N7100 has LTE.
Would Rom's from the AT&T version work on the N7100?
Thanks a lot!!!!
Rogers/Fido, Telus/Koodo, Bell/Virgin are all deemed the i317m, same factory Rom different carrier apps/bloatware, if I remember reading correctly. At&t is the i317. The difference is just the "m" and the carrier bloatware I believe and At&t's stock Rom. If you have a Rogers Note 2 ...i317m then you're in the right place, the At&t Note 2 section.
A great starting place is here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987541 The second question about the International Note 2 look at this mod here of the n7100 Roms being ported to i 317/(m). http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018411
I have a Bell i317m unlocked dialing on the Rogers network rocking Novella an At&t based Rom so welcome home. Well once you get a Rogers Note 2 upon seeing your sig.
Hey everyone, I have a simple question. I currently have the I467, which is horrible because ATT apparently locks down the bootloaders on their tablets, so I am thinking about moving to the N5100 instead. Does anyone know if that tablet version would work on ATT's network?
I like the Note 8, but not the version I bought from ATT since it has a locked bootloader.

You probably mean the 3G version (GT-N5100). Yes it will work. No, AT&T does not have a fast HSPA+ network.
I use an N5100 as my primary phone on AT&T. It's not LTE, and in my area I see download speeds in the 5-7 Mbps. I have no complaints. The phone will also work on T-Mobile's network.
Is it possible to use the t-mobile note 3 on a cdma network? I don't intend to use it with verizon or sprint but I recently heard of ting and it looks promising. I was curious if, through flashing, it would work.

No. This question has been answered MANY MANY times in the past.
The reason Verizon and Sprint (maybe) models can be used on TMO or ATT is because those CDMA models use GSM for LTE, thus having BOTH radios. The TMO variant DOES NOT HAVE A CDMA MODEM. PERIOD.
is Google down?
