Hey guys, I force updated to jellybean however I kept superSU and my phone's boot loader is still unlocked is there anyway to unroot and re lock my bootloader.
Root and a unlocked bootloader should not give problems to update (did it myself)......
Does the update fail ?

Don't matter now just need to re install clockwork recovery any tutorials
AH I understood it wrong i guess.....
So you are on JB now, and you want stock recovery and lock the bootloader
1 : if you did the update to JB you should already be on stock recovery (otherwise the update would have failed)
2 : you can re-lock the bootloader with a fastboot command
3 : if you want to unroot just delete the SU app
Fastboot OEM lock
Hope this answers your questions

RE-Lock your bootloader.
Easiest.
Just enter fastboot on your phone then use command prompt and write:
cd..
cd..
cd \fastboot
Then connect phone to cable then type:
'fastboot oem lock'
Edit: Phone must be in fastboot mode before connecting.
And then you will be able to update easily.
Pl guide us in step by step. Pl.

ya followed this guide when rooting and installing clockwork recovery...not installed any custom rom yet..just rooted in phone after unlock.
now not able to do ota which has just arrived in india
Help anyone. have relocked thephone now what. tried to do a factory reset from bootloader menu nothing happens .how do I get the phone back in condition newly bght. even clockwork recovery seems to have gone..this is so disappointing
You didn't need to lock the boot loader. Unlock it using the method you used when you unlocked your phone.
All you need to install the ota depends on what state your device is in before you start.
Are you on the stock from or a custom from?
If stock with unlocked boot loader and clockwork mod recovery then all you needed to do was flash the stock recovery reboot and do the ota.
If you were in a custom rom you will have needed to get back to stock from the nandroid backup you took, flashed stock recovery, and stock boot.img. Then reboot to stock and do OTA.

Hi guys,
I have a rooted one X and want to install he latest update. I tried to relock my bootloader by starting fastboot and then type:
" fastboot oem relock"
Now my phone should be relocked and it does show relocked in pink in the bootloader, but under that stands security warning I don't kno if thats normal or important or something. I rebooted my phone and downloaded the update but when i try to install it i still get into the bootloader.
What am I doing wrong and how do I unlock my bootloader again after the update?
Sascha
You unlock by flashing the unlock_code.bin file again like you first did.
To apply an ota update you also need to reflash the stock recovery

Okay I unlocked my bootloader flashed my recovery.img and relocked my bootloader again. But still it reboots into the bootloader. Could it be my backup of the recovery.img is already wrong?? and if so where can i get the right one

It returns me to bootloader))
You can try to following download stock recovery and download the RUU of your phone ( the same version as your latest official update ) then go to fastboot
Type
Fastboot flash recovery "your stock recovery " .img
Hit enter
Fastboot flash OEM lock
This might give an error but when you type it again it wil work
Now put your phone in fastboot again and then start your RUU from your pc if it gives an error just search for another One it will take about 10 min but after your phone will work fine
Hope it helps

My HOX is currently on HBOOT 1.12 I am waiting for the official Jellybean update. My phone is currently rooted and the boot loader is unlocked, My CID is HTC_001 and unlocked to any network. I have some question for when i do receive the update.
Question's
Do I need to update my HBOOT to receive this official update
if my boot loader is unlocked and my phone is rooted will i need to unroot and re lock the boot loader before updating
Search people ....search. there are al so many posts with the same question over and over !!!
You need 100% stock rom, stock kernel and stock recovery ! Root can stay also ...you will lose it with the update
Bootloader can stay unlocked !

Thank you.
So I had a custom ROM and saw that my CID finally!!! got an update, so I recovered to Stock ROM and then the only update available was 4.0.4; after I Installed it, I searched for updates again and downloaded JB update. Then I tried to install it, but whenever I did that, it has entered the recovery mode automatically and said something like "unknown volume for path internal sd card"; so I Googled it and someone said it's because the phone is rooted, so I relocked my phone but still can't install the update, everytime I try it says "This development bla bla bla" and then goes enters bootloader. What do I do next? Thank you.
R: I have an JB update but can't install it.
When you have restored your backup, have you flashed the stock boot.img??

I don't remember.. this was the process order:
1. I took the boot.img file from the backup folder and flashed it.
2. I entered Recovery and recovered the whole folder from the SD.
3. Then I already had the Stock ROM installed so I turned on my phone and installed 4.0.4
4. Then I downloaded JB but couldn't install it so I ran "fastboot oem lock".
5. Now I'm here, what's now?
R: I have an JB update but can't install it.
you should be able to upgrade to JB...
Now which error you have??
P.s before relocking bootloader have tou flashed the stock recovery??

No error, as I said, everytime I try to install the update it reboots my phone and then I see a message "this development bla bla bla" for like a second and then it automatically enters bootloader. My bootloader says "Relocked, security warning" at the top and I can't enter Recovery because it shows that "this development" message again and sends me back to bootloader.
Edit: I've flashed only once and it was in the beginning, I showed you the whole process order. How do I flash my stock recovery?
R: I have an JB update but can't install it.
Before relocking bootloader, you have to flash stock recovery, for this you are in security warning...
Now, unlock bootloader, flash the stock recovery, relock and try

Help me with that please, step by step:
1. How do I unlock the bootloader?
2. How do I flash the stock recovery [where is it and what's the name of the file]?
First of all there is no need to relock or unlock the bootloader ! ..... Just flash back the stock recovery
http://db.tt/U5CK4noo
The only thing you need now is a unlocked bootloader

What the hell??????????
I realized what was the problem, the problem was I didn't flash the recovery file, but now I did everything perfectly including the recovery file, I downloaded the JB update and it installed it!!!!!!!!! but now when I turn on the phone it's still the same goddamn 4.0.4 version!!!!!! What the hell?!
Edit: nevermind guys! For some reason, it showed me the bar of the installation but wasn't really installing, so I tried installing again and now I have JB Thank you so much, both of you!
