I Need To retore to Stock on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2.PLEASE HELP!! - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So Im definitely a noob and I rooted my Bell Samsung Galaxy Note 2 but later on I installed Jelly Bam to my phone hoping it would give me the 4.1.2 jelly bean firmware. After Installing Jelly Bam I realized that now I have no MOBILE NETWORK CONNECTION.. I really want to just uninstall Jelly Bam and go back to the way I first had my Note 2. Ive tried unrooting and returning to stock by Odin3 1.85 but whenever I put my phone into download mode and plug it into the computer it doesn't recognize it. PLEASE HELP.

what do you mean by "no MOBILE NETWORK CONNECTION"?
have you checked Settings->About device and Settings->About device->Status? what are the values there?
what's the JellyBam you've tried? the one in this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35054812&postcount=331 seems to indicate it's not for you... Unfortunately sammobile.com doesn't show any firmware for Bell or even Canada; I don't suppose you remember what was the original version on the phone?...

No one is really working with 2.1 anymore. There has only been limited success with the Gingerbreak. It does not work for everyone. Are you looking to just root your phone? The CWM 2.5.x should work.
Actually this was tested on 2.1:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076967
2.5 still gives me a phone is not connected and i have debug mode on and the samsung drivers instaled and restarted both my pc and phone so i will have to try the no pc method

The phone not connected is a USB problem. Either try another cable or another USB port. Only one port works on my laptop, none work on my main computer. Drivers try to install forever.
So try another port and another cable. You may have to reboot your computer after trying and getting that message.

If you mean the Gingerbreak, it barely works on 2.2 phones, but you certainly can try it. Is there any reason you don't want to go to 2.2? You can Odin to a EC05 prerooted ROM. There are videos for rooting without a PC if you want to see:

If you can use regular Sprint ROMs then yes. Odin, info and 2.2 tar are here:

And a good stock prerooted ROM is here that you can Odin in:

Another video on rooting here:

Not familiar with that aspect. Did you convert it to Boost or did someone do it for you? Because Odin'ing will make it like an out-of-the-box Sprint phone, so then you gotta do the Boost thing.

Don't think you should use Odin then. Check out the Boost rooting video I posted for you.
The conversion to make it work on Boost seems complicated. Found a post here:

Updating Bootloaders? Please read this first

Since the new Jelly Bean bootloaders have shown up, I see a lot of people talking about updating them. There are a few things I would recommend to do when flashing them. The first is the small, but present, danger that you can hard brick your phone. And I mean the "Need jtag to make it work" hard brick. Typically the cause of these bricks is an error or interruption of communications between the device and the computer. The other is mismatched or outright improper bootloaders.
Below is a list of things to decrease the possibility of permaborking. Keep in mind that following this list will not 100% remove the danger of flashing bootloaders, but will increase the chances of a successful flash.
Flashing bootloaders is dangerous. They are one of the few things that has the possibility of hard bricking your phone. For that reason, here are some good things to do to prepare for flashing them.
Have a good, reliable data cable. Interruption of communication between your phone and pc will most likely cause a hard brick with bootloaders.
Use a usb port on the back of your computer (or #1 on a laptop). Communication, again.
Have a jig. Not much help if you hard brick, but if you soft brick its very nice to have.
I personally flash bootloaders from a good laptop with a fully charged battery. If there is a power outage, the battery in the laptop will have saved my phone.
When flashing bootloaders,or anything with Odin, don't touch your phone after you connect it in dl mode until the phone reboots. Goes back to the communication issue.
For problems/tips on connection issues, look HERE
To determine which bootloader you have, check out this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freeandroidtools.root_checker
To check your bootloader version
(thanks to KorGuy123 for the link)
For those that like to use Terminal Emulator, just type this:

Hi,
I know this is close to impossible, but still want to bring it up to see if anyone here knows.
My s3's USB port seems damaged physically or something. It charges fine, but it always shows unrecognized USB device when connecting to PC. No matter it is in download mode or booted mode and how hard I try(install updated USB driver, change PC etc. )
No the question comes - can I upgrade boot loader without USB? If not I will be stuck with older version of cm10.1 for ever
TIA

No, you need a usb port to do it. You might try using Heimdall, as it uses a different driver. If you use heimdall, you will need to do a lot of research as it operates a little differently than Odin.
Flashing Bell Galaxy S3 Bootloader on AT&T phone
Would it be possible to flash a SGH-I747M (Bell) bootloader on a SGH-I747 (AT&T). I would like to have the option to toggle LTE off when I am in a non LTE area without going through the Network Control option discussed on xda, as I have been doing.
If it's not the exact bootloader for your phone, don't flash it.

Maybe use Mobile Odin?

It is not recommended to write bootloader with Mobile Odin. Furthermore, it just won't do it:
From Chainfire:
All partitions are supported, as are loose files, .tar files and .tar.md5 files. Mobile ODIN will even check the MD5 signatures before flashing. While in theory Mobile ODIN can repartition and flash EFS and bootloaders, it will cowardly refuse to do so, for your own safety.

I have no idea why you would have to do that. If you have your setting correct it will do it automatically. My does on Telus. Or did you follow some of the instuctions here and loaded a bad image to your phone. Best to flash a stock image to your phone that has been rooted and then use rom manger or goomanager to flash a recovery to your phone if you want one. I have a rooted stock rom and I no recovery as they are a waste of time. I used triangle to reset the trip and I can update OTA with no issues and it states my devise status is normal. I had used some other rom on my phone and it drained the battery all the time. Now it works like a charm. I can even use back track or other linux distro's on it,
As for the other guy having an issue, you can update your phone over Kies. Your issues sound like its a bad rom you put on your phone. And you can never brick your phone. Its what people to say to scare you to get you to use their methods.
Is it possible that installing a custom rom would have installed the latest bootloader. I didn't install myself and it looks like I have the latest per the device info app I downloaded from the play store

It's possible that the ota update to jelly bean pushed the latest bootloader to your phone.

The AT&T SGH-I747 does not offer the option to toggle LTE off under the Settings Menu, as do the Bell, Telus etc SGH - I747Ms. And although I can and have flashed all sorts of different ROMs, the AT&T modem is RAT locked and I so far have been unsuccessful flashing any modems other than AT&T modems. I am not sure whether this is a software issue or whether it is to do with the AT&T bootloader, hence the question about flashing a Bell bootloader. Any time that I try to flash a non-AT&t MODEM, I temporarily lose my IMEI number and the phone will not work at all. But there is a work around by entering into the Phone Control settings as discussed on xda, ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116346) which I have been using successfully.

I want to update to 10.1 RC4, but I've read warnings relating to the old version of the bootloader, but nothing saying how to tell what version bl I have ...

Head into http://sammobile.com or http://samsung-updates.com and look for your phone's model name. They have firmware for pretty much any device so hopefully they have some for yours.
So the only thing that freaks me out is all these region codes... I dont see one for USA...Now what lol

I have the exact same phone and the exact same problem. Kies (via USB) recognizes there is a SPH-L520 connected but won't actually connect to it. I asked Samsung for the appropriate drivers (none are listed on the webpage for the device) but Samsung says there aren't any drivers for the SPH-L520. Kies does connect my SPH-L520 and my PC via WiFi, though. And, despite having enabled Developer Mode and USB Debugging, Kingo fails every time. Any ideas?
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
It is also where Kingo originally got their method from, I wouldn't trust them too much if I were you. The best thing about the above method is, if it can't root the phone, it won't touch anything. If it can - it won't trigger the Knox. I tried on my JB 9190 and works. Unless you have a locked bootloader... that would complicate things.

Guys, please assist or I`ll go mad in a minute and smash this crap with a hammer Wife got SGS S3 Mini/GT-i8190N. Don`t know what network it came from, but was not locked and came from UK.
Her phone suddenly turned off today and won`t boot, stuck here:

How on earth I get it back to life? No hacks ever have been done to it. Google reveals huge amount of people having same problems - stuck at boot screen. Is that some kind of hardware issue with this model?
One of the solutions is to do factory reset - but how if I can`t get into the phone? I can get into ODIN mode, connect to ODIN, but I can`t download firmware as I don`t know what network phone came from or even it was sim ree(not locked to any).

Was there a box that the phone came in? Usually somewhere on that you can find something that looks like the software version that came on the phone originally. I know the standard S3 has that and I'll go out on a limb to assume that this one has it as well, if you have the box. Outside of that, not sure what else to tell you.
Good luck!

I know on my G III I can flash any I747M firmware and they all load and boot fine my concern us that you get the right radio and if I had to guess I would use I8190NXXAMG1, hope that helps, when u have Odin started on your desktop and plug in your phone in d/l mode it does not show your phone?

Should be able to use any one of the i8190N firmwares. Check the link I sent above. Do you have the box the phone came in?

I believe this counts as ODIN is seeing the phone?

Swapping simcards

I have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that was a Verizon Wireless variant. I went to swap the SIM cards from the Total Wireless SIM to active AT&T SIM card just to see if it would work and it did but I went to put the Total Wireless SIM card back in and I'm left with all of this AT&T bloat ware that won't let me uninstall along with the AT&T globe as boot logo... Any ideas?

You have to flash the unlocked firmware that's N950U1 because that doesn't have the bloatware like that.
I'm confused. The phone is not rooted it's just been carrier unlocked. It acts like bloatware and it wasn't there before I don't understand how a SIM card inserting it and replacing it with a different carriers what causes it to leave behind un-installable applications and a boot logo

Because it caused your CSC to change and the carriers love putting all their crappy bloatware in the phone because they want you to use their products.. Root has nothing to do with it. If you flash the unlocked firmware N950U1 you won't have to deal with that again!

Yeah bloatware is such a nuisance. Could you provide a link to some instructions on how to flash firmware? thanks

It's pretty easy actually.. You just download odin that's the application you flash with then you download the firmware you want to flash then unzip the downloaded firmware so you can see all the files in it.. Make sure the computer already has the cellphones drivers already installed or it won't see the phone connected then open odin and put each file in their respective places AP to AP BL to BL etc... Then flash. If you end up with an error just ask us.

Ok ive got all of it downloaded and unzipped and files added to all the corresponding boxes, my phone is recognized and in download mode.. Yet it still fails to start the process. Ive got the latest odin and im assuming it must be the firmware version?
Just out of curiosity, did you try doing a cache wipe and factory reset in recovery mode with the Total Wireless SIM card installed. Honestly dont know if that would work but might be worth a try.
Also with Odin, did you try to run as administrator? And assuming you are using a Windows based computer, what version of Windows are you using? And I believe there are also 2 versions of the latest Odin, 1 regular and 1 that is modded. Maybe try the other version as well. I dont have a link but I'm sure someone may come along and provide it.
I was trying to keep all of my info so I didn't do a wipe. In the odin version that I have on been using is the one on the Samsung firmware website.
I'm pretty sure this is the patched one here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572
Also if you use Samsung Smart Switch, that is an easy way to save pretty much all your data, customizations, and most of your programs right to your SD card. It will restore pretty much everything for you. It makes things a lot easier to restore when playing with different ROMs or versions of Android. When you use Smart Switch to restore, it will basically look and feel like it was before you wiped.

You're using the wrong odin you need to use the patched version or it will continue to fail.. I've attached the patched version of odin here.

Something isn't right.. Try a different USB port and a different wire!! Also make sure you right click on odin and run it as administrator.. Go through the firmware files that you extracted and delete just the .md5 part off of all of the files you're going to flash.

Pop the sim card tray out and then push it back in with the phone on and see if it sees it and asks to restart.. If it doesn't then I'm not sure and someone else will need to chime in.

A third-party seller on eBay but it was brand new never been opened or activated.
But I think that would be irrelevant since it was working just fine with the exception of some bloatware.
