Maybe Arcknight kernel?

I think the sega or rush kernels have this also. Wouldn't recommend it, to be honest. The difference between 1.6 and 2.0 is almost unnoticeable performance-wise but your battery life will suffer.
Thanks man

Overclocking to that frequency is close to deadly for our phones. Better just sell your phone, you get money, instead of just a brick.

havent tried Ocing in my arc,im curious is it really a big difference
from 1ghz Ocing to 1.4 or higher?and the only way to O/C is to unlocked bootloader and use different kernel?is there a stable and safe frequency?tested in a daily usage..
Well, I'm currently running at 806Mhz, I was previously at 1.2Ghz and to be honest, I don't see any difference.

You may try to flash the DoomKernel on your device. It will give you rootaccess, the possibility to over and underclock. But first you need to unlock your bootloader.
I overclocked my Arc to 1,9ghz Max running for days without any problems. I dont recommend much higher or it will run stuck and you may damage your device.
Only overclock your device when you have a good feeling about it
so does that mean i can't over clock to let's say 1.4 GHz and let it be like that for daily use ? either with DoomLord ROM or CM7 ROM..

You can overclock, but ARE YOU REALLY need 1,8Ghz??? All day.
Stock you had 1Ghz and its already fast.
When you doing some grazy OC lets say 1.9ghz your device may be unstable after that.
Most people using 1,2 or 1,4ghz because its stable and not draining battery a lot.
I use 800-900mhz and very happy.
Whay we always talking overclocking, but not "downclocking"
Edit: doomlord kernel max is 2.0Ghz but dont forget about stock is 1ghz....so 2 times faster BUT not all devices are stable with this insane speed.
CM7 and FXP kernel max 1,6Ghz and its rock solid stable all day and night.
Cheers

From what I've experienced,
If u set the OC in min 1GHz and max 1.8GHz like what I've done, you will notice that ur phone is going smoother.
Well, this is my opinion..

Yes it drains battery

@tyrand3
how much Ghz have you been using?
you using it daily?is it really a big difference?
I overclocked mine to 1.4GHz and use it as daily setup, works smoother and faster.
Min/max 122/1401MHz

Tbh I wouldn't really know, just go to the dev sections and read the information on the Roms in the thread's. I've seen some that say better battery life
Currently using;
Rom: CM9
Kernel: Free Xperia Project
Supercharger at 100%
It is fast as sh*t!

I try many roms but all gives me the same result..when i check in the battery setting, it is android os that heavily use my battery..

Works with stock ICS kernel? If yes, Ill try it
Which ROM you are using??....
Is it good for games performance like Modern Combat 4 or Need for Speed?
For gaming always use CM10 or PA straightaway!plus overclock the kernel to about 1.5ghz and see the smoothness!in stock, eternity warriors was laggy, used to lag every time the creatures appeared,at 1.5ghz hellboy and PA,that was as smooth as butter

Not ALWAYS go for CM10.
I use stock with no overclock, and I don't lag what so ever.
You overclocked for smoothness.
There is no gaming Rom, but SuperSickKernel is the fastest out right now. The ICS kernels aren't updated
Sent from my HTC One V using Tapatalk 2
since there is a general opinion that stock is laggy, and it is for most people, hence suggested a JB rom as they are smooth even without OCing.currently yes sick is suggested as its good for gaming.if ur phone is not lagging on stock without overclocking, you are damn lucky

Same as you I have came here for a lag free phone and for gaming also but hov is not good with games at all these ROMs n kernel might make your phone a rocking hell but not fir gaming even subway surfer not running smoothly. On my device PA 2.99 hellboy kernel
Sent from my One V using xda app-developers app
Now I'm trying slim Rom...it feels good, modern combat 4 runs good restarting the phone(for few apps running), and need for speed runs good without restarting...also I'm on Hellboy kernel

U can only now if u try it
Overlocking its different from phone to phone ! Some w can take big oc and some just crash
U have to test for yourself since every w has unique hardware

Just purchased another xperia play, currently waiting for it to be delivered. Can anyone tell me the best kernel used with Gin2Jellybean rom based on your experience? Hoping to OC to around 1.4-1.6MHz, I have had a browse around the forum to see what I like but hoping for something stable/reliable for everyday use.
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks Pizza_Dox, does this kernel also support usb fast charge? And what oc value do you recommend?
Cheers.
I dont think it supports that,
I recommend only 1.2 GHz max and 180 MHz min and the govenor on lulzactive for best performance/battery,
