Can someone with stock AT&T download this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.android.mobile.attmessages and then send me the APK? I can't download it on my AT&T Note 2 running on International ROM. I'm hoping I can still install it. Currently, my "Install" button is grayed out whenever I visit that website on Google.com, or it doesn't even show up when I visit Google Play from my device. It says it's incompatible but I'd still like to try and "side load" it. Thanks.
EDIT: NEVERMIND. I GOT IT.

I can't download that one either. I think we need help from our friends on the other carrier (t-mobile, sprint, verizon). I know, it's weird, but I couldn't download this other AT&T app too, but when I tried it on a t-mobile phone it worked fine, so weird that my AT&T phone can't download an AT&T app but other carriers can, and my was stock too.
If anyone can help me out too, this was the one I was trying to get.

I'm glad I did a Nandroid backup on my stock, rooted AT&T ROM before switching over to International N7105. I went back to i317 and took the APK from the system folder (I think. I forgot). But anyway, here it is. Copy it to a folder, tap and set it up. At first I had trouble setting up but after 2 or 3 tries, I was able to successfully install it by entering my voicemail's password. Plus, now play.google.com says it's compatible with my device! Go figure.
Nice!
Any chance I can grab the AT&T U-verse apk from anyone?
AT&T Messages APK ver. 2.10.2.61?
Please can someone that have the lates AT&T Messages APK ver. 2.10.2.61 make it available for download or send it to me?

Jan
is it any different than stock messages?

Yes it's a lot different from the stock messages app... see link to the play store in the first post. But it only works on the AT&T network.
I upgraded my international Galaxy Note GT-N7000 to android 4.1.2 and now the app is blocked for me in the play store. But I was able to get the latest apk from a Galaxy S3... so I'm up and running again

Isn't there a T-Mobile GS3 section on here?
Aren't we on the tmobile s3 forum?
Isn't this the right section of the forum? I need this, as well, and have just searched the site, specifically, and spent another 3 hours on google. No stock ROM.

Wondering if anyone was daring enough to try flashing the International N9005 firmware on the Tmo Note3?
Looking at buying a Tmo Note 3 soon to run on ATT and would love to have it run the International N9005 Firmware (no carrier bloat)
If you have can you provide the details info? also will you get the updates like a normal N9005? any chance of an update containing a radio update that will brick the phone?
excuse the noobness of the questions, I don't normally tinker with good working phones. (currently running a genuine S4 google play edition) looking at a note 3 now....

i see no reason for it not to work ..
I flashed it, working fine. However, I cannot get wifi, or nfc to work in omega. He's releasing an update soon, so we'll see if that fixes the issue.

I would think Flashing any n9005 ROM (which usually is modem-less), would work since the hardware is the same.

I have flashed a few N9005 rom on my T-mobile note 3. Probam Rom..X-Note Rom and BobCat Rom. Also i just flashed knoxraid(AT&T Rom). I flashed all of the roms through TWRP. Make sure you use the T-mobile compulsion kernel or the Wildchild kernel.
There is a wifi fix I use on every i9005 build I do, I am at work, do not have it handy, but it fixes these issues....go to the i9005 forum, and go to the earlier posts, the wifi fix is there......
good luck
So My friend had network issues in his note 2 so i took it to help him. Now in the about phone in settings, it says n7100, however in download mode, it shows SGH T889 which is the t-mobile version... in the widgets it shows a few t-mobile widgets as well...he bought it second hand, so it is possible that the person flashed the t-mobile rom in the international version, or is it the t-mobile version. Thanks!

Its the SIM unlock I'm having biggest problems with. Its running 4.1.2 but the method on here *#1973 etc doesn't seem to work. I managed to get it rooted. Put CWM touch on and downgraded the ROM as it said but still can't unlock it.
Thanks.
Did you talk with your current mobile operator? Usually you can get the unlock code from your provider. If not let me know

Ahh now heres the problem
I can't phone them as the phone won't work
catch 22 again.
I can't get 4.1.1 (stock or Cooked) as its all hotfile links and all are dead.
Try first this: (downgrading BTW doesn't help here a quote from CyanogenMod:
CyanogenMod, however, does not "unlock" the device. Most carriers "lock" their handsets to prevent customers from buying a handset and moving to a different carrier. Carriers depend on these "exclusivity" agreements to bolster revenue. For example: if you buy an iPhone in the US, you are stuck with AT&T or Verizon, whichever you bought from. To use the handset on another carrier's network it would be necessary to "unlock" the handset. This is done with a code based on the IMEI of the handset that can be provided by your carrier or firms on the internet that are slightly more reliable than a Nigerian Prince.
Unlocking cannot be done by installing CyanogenMod, or any other firmware for that matter.

Yes I understand that
The instructions to SIM unlock are
Downgrade to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 and use a *~ code to access the network lock menu. But it seems 'some' 4.1.2 don't give full access to the menu.
4.1.1 does, but I can't find it anywhere , hotfile problem
I'm not trying to SIM unlock with the firmware but trying to find a firmware that allows SIM unlocking though the dev menu.
I should imagine thats what the input code option when it boots does.
Look at this site.

Again though no 4.1.1
Forget that, top link is all hotfiles again
Samsung has a "Region-Lock" some custom ROMs remove this lock, so I think you must use a UK version. Else it won't work!
[…] For example, a SIM-free Galaxy Note 3 is purchased in Europe, the first SIM card inserted in the device must be from a carrier that operates in the particular region. It doesn’t matter if the carrier doesn’t operate in the particular country where the device is bought from, it just need to operate in one of the countries in the entire region. […] Those who end up with a region locked device in a different region and can’t use a SIM to deactivate region lock, they can go to a Samsung care center and get it deactivated, it is not known if there are any costs associated with this or if it would have to be proved where the device has been purchased from. The phone wasn't branded so no idea on that. I'm now waiting the 1 hour to download the UK Vodafone 4.1.2 rom to see if that might help as I have no idea what the one on there now is based on.

Try with the app Galaxsim Unlock from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.galaxsimunlock
I had your same issue on a Note2 from 3 UK: when I went to Italy I wasn't able to use italian SIM cards on it.
The software says 4.1.1 is required but my phone came out with 4.1.2 and it worked fine for me.
I've found a working UK 4.1.1 ROM. Probably that last working one in the world
I'm going to see how I go about downgrading the ROM now. If I put CWM touch on and can I do it through that. I'm not sure if you can downgrade with a higher recovery system.
I'm trying to help a friend with his N7105 and I am lost.
He has been rooted running custom roms for a long time so that he could get group messaging. Now that the Hangouts app is available for download I'm trying to get him back to stock unrooted and he can do his own thing from here out. In doing so I realized that 4.3 was released for his model. I have looked for FW files on http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for the right file, but don't see anything for the US or AT&T. But, there are sites all over saying it was released in a roll-out back in December like Android Police.
I've read from the forums on sammobile that you can flash another countries firmware package, but then you'll only get OTAs from that country. Also, if the package you use is carrier specific you'll have to unlock to phone again. Is there no AT&T US package available? If not, what are my best options?
Any help?

The US ATT version of the Note II is the SGH-I317, does your friend have an ATT branded phone or an imported N7105?. Sawdoctor's link will work if it is an I317. Flashing a rom from a different country won't SIM lock the phone, but will install the default apps from whatever phone company's build is used. I have an N7105, live in Belgium but use the German TMobile build on my phone, I had no issues going from CM11 back to 4.3 (I actually did this on Tuesday).

That's the hard part. The phone is branded as AT&T and the sticker under the battery says SGH-I317 but if you boot it into bootloader it says it's a N7105. He bought the phone used from a local classifieds site to use with AT&T, he broke his screen after a few months and sent it into Samsung to repair it. I'm not sure if he was returned the same phone he sent if or if they just sent out a phone a different phone. Not sure if it's a N7105 that was imported (or in this case, refurbed and sent to him).
