Kind of obvious question, but: are the read/write settings correct? Some users get confused with apks such as root explorer where it shows a button saying 'read only' whereas it's a toggle to change it.

I finaly understood my error I just didn t asked the root permission for my explorer --' but thanks for your answer

File Explorer

anyone have any File Explorer suggestion? it must be as good as Root Explorer but only access Internal & External SDCard and without root permission.. it's very dangerous if my little brother play with the system file (who knows?)
because I'm using CM9 and the OI File Manager is so stupid and poor..
thx in advance..
Astro file manager, es file manager (do not enable root explorer mode) or the stock file manager from samsung should do you fine...
Solid Explorer!

+1 for ES. I have been using it since it first came out. It's very good, the 1st thing I restore after factory reset / reflash.

Try X-plore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5sb25lbHljYXRnYW1lcy5YcGxvcmUiXQ..
It has the option to allow or disallow SU root access.
I recomend ES too it's free and adless, and it looks very elegant (especially the icons)

my opinion... is x-plore.
iam using it since iam using symbian phone (n81-n95) its the best file explorer... it can open apk as zip, open rar file, create zip, superuser permission, hex viewer, show hidden, edit permissiom, create/edit teks, has dedicated audio, picture, video player. and yeah...

[Q] init.d script

Guys I've got a problem...I created init.d script using notepad++ and after I transferred it to my phone it got renamed to *nameofthefile with a suffix null. I couldnt change the permission as there was no such option. I transferred it using bluetooth...even usb didnt work
I could however create the script using root browser and set the permission. What could be the problem...

Sorry I don't quite understand your issue. You mentioned "I could however create the script using root browser and set the permission". So what problem are you trying to resolve? Or do you mean you are trying to remove "*nameofthefile with a suffix null"?

App Permission Manager

Hi M users, can anyone recommend a good permission manager? One that's easy to use, has a decent UI etc?
I used to use LBE privacy guard, but that reboots my phone. I think that is maybe related to root issues?
Searching for "permissions" in Google Play is a nightmare...half of the list is games, nothing to do with app permission management. Many of them list permissions and not edit them either.
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=permission&c=apps
Use root explorer or es file explorer...

I tried ES file explorer, it didn't have permission management, only uninstall ability.
There's one benefit of non-Google ROMs I suppose!
I tried a few but most were just explorers. I will post if I find a good one.
Have you tried root explorer...
Sent from my C2004 using Tapatalk
I find that Advanced Permission Manager can do that
For me the best option is installing Xposed Framework then using App Settings module...
Personally, i think root browser is no1

error while changing rom files like build.prop

whenever i tried to change any values in build.prop there comes an error... but i copy it in memory card then editing and replacing is possible in system files... attaching the screenshot

1st please use Q&A thread for questions rather than creating a thread !!
You have to go through File manager settings and grant Root permission !!
permissions are set as superuser already... still same error..
Sent from my HM 1SW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Use ES File Explorer and grant Root (By sliding Left and Switch ON Root Explorer )
And Grant ROOT forever and try editing with the App navigating build.prop
