I've been using my Dash on the weekends at certain times instead of my tytn and I am desperately looking for an autotext or autocorrect applicaton. Basically, I do a tremendous amount of emails on my phone and this application allows me to type in three letters in an email like "mrq" and have it replaced with "meeting request" or "btw" and replace it with "by the way". I use Kai' autocorrect.net on my tytn and it lets me write emails so much faster.
the xt9 on the dash is an annoyance and does not perform the same function.
Qoolapps makes qcaps and qcorrect, but it only works on the motorola q.
Bumping this up to the top again. If anyone has any suggestions, please help. I really need this.
Bump here --- (AUTOTEXT solutions for WM5/6)
I have used Kai Autocorrect but recently it seems to have issues with some of the WM6 ROM's - can't pin it down so input on that would be great.
But also if there are any other options - it amazes me this is such a simple yet killer app for the BB .... example type bb = Blackberry .. type wm = WindowsMobile.... thxm = Thanks Much!
Not using mouse stylus and all that jazz just on the fly word conversion and completion with a self defined library of words. AutoCorrect again does most but has not been updated in a long time.
Thanks for anything ---
I am confused, too: used it on a Excalibur? I thought it runs only on PPC??

XT9 (DB edit) or Autocorrect alternative.....
Correct -
The issue is the WM6 Smartphone version and PPC versions differ in how they do Autocorrect - which for many is brutal pain..... the PPC version has in /windows a hidden file called autocorrect.0409.txt which can be manipulated to add/delete words from your dictionary and you can control it.
The Smartphone/WM6 since it uses ughhhl XT9 yada it uses a different DB which is apparently tough to edit - manipulate - to anything with.
As much as I wish the Smartphone worked like the PPC, I think I am hoping for a prayer here that won't happen - so I see only 2 options that would get us close to that:
1 - Some way to get control to add/edit change this XT9 DB
2 - An add-in app (which I have asked a Dev to look at but says its rough) to run resident and give us the same as what exists on the PPC/WM6 on the smartphone.
The sad part is all in all I could see the SmartPhone needing this even MORE since it's keyboards are usually smaller any anything to minimize keystrokes is key.
This is so sad --- Anyone that can help I would be so grateful. Even if there is some way to port some of the WM6/PPC ROM components over would be VERY NICE!!!

A call to all developers ... this is the only thing I miss from my BlackBerry ....
Someone must be able to amend either QCaps or MagicKBLite to work?
HI all;
When I bought the Artemis first time there was an app, like a notepad where I could just draw and save.It was very useful to jot down things very fast without typing. For ex I could use stylus and draw ,there was also a recognition after drawing. So could save a lot of time
But the new ROM's doesnt have it.I tried to find it from the forum. But couldn't find it.Any one knoe it?I also dnt know the name
the latest wm6 roms are using office mobile 2007.
there you will find "one note mobile", which is far better! even touchscreen notebooks are using onenote.

Hi friend;
I know one note. But u can't draw there right?I mean there was a possibility to draw words and save it.After drawing in the menu there was an option to recognize that too. That one is what I am looking for.
Thanks to any one who has it.

HI friend;
Thats a block recognizer option or letter recognizer.I mean is a software where u can write this and save as it is.So next time u can see it more like a picture.U understand?
Regards
Some of the cooked ROMs do not have the handwriting recognition feature, I don't know whether it is missing from the O2 WM6 ROM too, or just from Tom's cooked ROMs.
must have been that, it wasn't hard to stumble upon when i was having a quick play thats why i thought it was there.
Thanks

Sorry friends only yesterday did I find that the notes application can be used in the same way to write with stylus on screen.it had to be changed from type to write in the options menu.
Thanks to all those who contributed.
just a note -- if you want BETTER handwriting-type note apps, then maybe you should try out Phatpad. I tried it on my x51v before and the feel of the ink was a heckuva lot better than the default Notes. It can also handle your writing a lot better -- and apparently with Calligrapher (Phatware's version of Transcriber) you can draw in Phatpad and have drawing converted to text quite reliably.
I haven't had the cash to buy the app yet myself, but I might pick it up again one day when I have more cashola.

Another Possibility
Don't forget Pocket Informant - as well as being a very good PIM, it features a Note taking facility on which you can also set alarms...which is nice!
Thanks to all
Thanks every one,I will try out the ones u guys mentioned.

OneNote mobile
Actually, I'm also interested in expanding OneNotes Mobile possibilities in the way regular notes work (to draw a note with pictures and handwriting without recognition and being able to sync it with my desktop version of oneNote)
Do you know any add-ons that can help?
Hi all,
I was just wondering how you would go about making an attractive interface. I am using C# to write an application I hope to share with the people on this forum (as ive taken alot and think maybe i should give something back now ) but I cant figure how ot make an interface look good. For example transparent forms with graphical buttons etc. Are these just images or is there some 2d DX Programming involved? Because the UI I have in mind i could acheive it by playing GIFS but that just doesnt seem right to me. Also Im still learning C# so for my own ability id rather do it with the correct method from the beginning.
Can someone help me out? DX? Simple Graphics? Gifs? Whats the way to make a nice UI thats not just a windows form in different colours ( ).
Oh and btw im also looking to make the UI finger friendly.
EDIT:
Another question, how do you suppose the volume control (the finger friendly one you spin with your thumb) is made ? its very responsive and i dont think its just images also the way the white ball swivels around and changes the colour of the number its behind. This would also be interesting to learn. I just want to get an idea of the kind of programming involved in making a UI like that. Thanks again.
Thanks in advance for tips.
Hi wonderful developers,
I was disappointed with the pen writing application in the Note.. I used to use the stylus application with the Windows Mobile 6.1 - HTC Touch HD - phone and it had a -- Letter Recognition -- writing app built in which was brilliant when u got used to it after a few days.
I could write faster than typing and no need for extra pressing of buttons to get characters and punctuation. This was especially useful when using Spreadsheets and entering times with a colon separator as well as formulas. It was so good that I still carry it with me and use it to log all my jobs, times and notes for my work. It is very fast at Character recognition but it's so slow opening files etc and has a small screen compared to the Note 2 7105.
It had an Input area at bottom of screen with 3 sections. The first for Capitals (write as a normal lower case letter) The Middle section was for normal lower case letters and the Right hand side was for punctuation , numbers, and symbols etc.
IT WORKS GREAT ! (once you get used to it)
Is it possible to make this for the Note 2 ?????
The resultant size occupied at the bottom of the screen can be relatively small compared to a keyboard etc....
Please Please Please consider this - it really is the best Input method I have found yet !
Thanks
and thank you also developers for all your hard and ingenious work which is transforming my Note 2 into a fantastic necessity...

We got my Dad a Note 8.0 for Christmas because his old iPaq h2210 was really showing its age. He has OCD and writes down most everything he does every day. He really wanted a stylus input that has similar handwriting recognition to Windows CE. Is there an app that handles input in a similar way? What I mean is you write one letter at a time and it recognizes that letter and types it on the screen. As opposed to just writing the whole word at once. Any help would be appreciated.
There's quite a few apps that do this. Some are the old school she writing much like Windows block recognizer.
The built in writing app on the note 8 I believe can do individual stroke recognition. I've not tried it.
Other wise check out an app (via google) called grafitti. It is much like the windows version of old.
Hope this helps.
