Battery partial wake lock draining my battery - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello,
Is there a way to stop the battery drain by disabling networklocationlocator wakelock? The location settings in Maps app are all disabled but it's still happening. Thanks!

Try reinstalling maps. Never seen this before if automatic location reporting is disabled

I have the same problem and I haven't found away to get rid of it even reinstalling it.

In location services turn off "use wireless networks" setting and see if it help.

wlan is your wifi.
Backup is your phone backing up to Google's servers.
those look about right considering your phone was last charged 17hours ago.
Thanks, I knew that wlan was wifi but what is the *power manager* lock from?

Probably the kernel's built in power management.. kernel wake locks aren't a big deal. Partial wake locks are what you should be looking at.

Maps seems to be eating alot of my battery

The only thing I had on which I recently turned off was update location automatically. Anything else I might be overlooking.

Google Now uses maps. So if you have it enabled, that could be why. Mine uses a little, but I do not use it much for commutes so that might be why it does not use much battery.

I had the same issue but keeping GPS off (when not needed) fixed it.

This is what my battery usage for maps looks like. It used to not drain this much. I haven't even turned on Google Now on a fresh ROM install.

I get this constantly (as in every 60 seconds at times). I like the phone, but not if this continues.
thanks much

Yeah, I'm still stock and I get that error as well. Without getting a logcat as it happens it's difficult to tell. I wouldn't worry about it that much.
Try flashing a newer version of the Google apps

In settings > app manager, find Google Services Framework and clear cache and data.
If that doesn't work boot recovery and wipe dalvik.

How do I disable, or for the better, get rid of this? *pic inside*

I get this annoying popup each and every time I reboot.
I am running Rushing's Galaxy ROM 4.99.

If its only when you reboot....I'd live with it. Or disable wifi calling if you don't use it and see if that stops it. I'm unfamiliar with wifi calling....disable it in settings maybe? Or freeze it with titanium backup? If you go thru the learn more will it stop??

Maybe a rouge app that can modify system settings?
Settings > Apps > Settings cog (top right) > Modify system settings
Also look at the apps that can access your location.
Turn off the permission for apps that don't need it.
Apps like GSam Battery Monitor might actually tell you what app is using you location.

Thanks ill give that a try and see if it ever happens again

I discovered the other day same thing was happening to me, got a notification from clean master n took care of it with greenify...my strange battery drain is finally gone! Standby time is so much better, phew!

Same issue here when I installed MapMyRide. It's been 'secretly' polling my location even though GPS is off!
