yea its basically another spare, but u plug into to. so it bumps the battery up to over 2900 depending on what battery you currently use. and the other reasons this is nice is because its also case, and with the other extended batteries look ugly and have no cases.
I want to get it but I had bought the seido extended battery surface case that blocked the kickstand and didn't like how it sounded and this one blocks it too so let us know if its worth it or how it sounds
sent from DA BOLT
It seems that covering up the back case containing the antenna with another battery could result in signal loss. Do they do anything special to avoid this?
seriously only reason i haven't got the active extended case is dew to the fact that it will cover up my speaker. I don't care what anyone says It has to affect it in some manner. And why take away my kickstand ?
not to get to defensive but you can still use the kickstand, it can act as a "stand" for the phone, theres a video for it, its probably a lot nice then with it regular back/extended because at least this is getting a charge while using the kickstand, where as regular charge, not possible without some help from towels etc.

Just look at how much the kickstand itself muffles the speaker. This'll probably make it unhearable in a pocket for notification beeps.

Hey guys,
Just got the mugen extended battery in the mail. Their regular shipping somehow took longer than 3 weeks and I still have not received the item, so I asked them to reship using FedEx. Guess what, it took 2 days to get to Richmond Hill, Canada, which is just north of Toronto.
Anyways, just though I'd upload some high quality pics with measurements so if any of you guys are planning on buying it, you guys have a sense of how things ll look when you get it.
Feel free to update this with your own pictures.
Update 1: More pictures of battery on phone. Post #10
________________________________________________________________________________
After using this for some times, I believe I can give a rather full rounded review of this case
Make and Looks:
After looking at the pics below, it is definitely safe to conclude that if you cannot stand additional bulk to the galaxy nexus, this extended is definitely not a recommended, as it does double the thickness of the phone. Also, this battery is not for those who are seriously concious of the way their phones look, as this is, to be honest, not the best looking extended battery pack out there.
HOWEVER, if you are like me, and enjoy funtion over form, it would be my pleasure to say that this battery is definitely recommended. The back casing of the Mugen Power battery mimicks the back of the galaxy nexus to provide users with enough grip so as to reduce the slipperiness and possibilities of drops. Also, the battery which is rated at 4000mah does add some weight to the phone, which to me is a great addition as it just feels that the phone is more secure in my hands with the added weight. The battery, when installed on the phone, depicts the resemblence of a humpback whale, which not to say is ugly in anyway, it is simply Unique. The kickstand is a bit flimsy, but that is just an additional use of the new backing to watching movies and videos, so can't complain there.Lastly, the camera holes are perfectly cut out for the 5MP camera, it does not affect picture quality in anyway, but does take away from the original good looks of the phone.
Usage
To be honest, the GNEX isn't among the top performing android handsets in the battery department. Getting through a full day with my full usage has always been a problem, no matter what brightness setting I set. Battery times for me has always been 13-16 hours with 3-4 hours standby, and that is already after using franco kernel and aokp.
Now, with the Mugen Power battery, I can say this: I have a GMAXXXXXXXXXX. The battery after 3 - 5 charge cycles is AMAZING! Unlike other cheap extended batteries, I would say that mugen lived up to their name, as this battery is more than what they described as double my battery life. With it, I get by two days with super super super heavy usage including a ton a gaming, videos, and auto-sync and wifi on 24/7. That is around 2 days 3 hours with 7-9 hours screen on with the screen at around 50% brightness!!
Would I recommend?
Yes, I would definitely recommend this extended battery to anyone out there. If the price of said Mugen Battery is within your acceptable budget limit, there is no other battery that compares to what Mugen is delivering. And as the old saying goes, "You get what you payed for".
Thanks for this, please post back your results

The seido doesnt even look good on it. try the SGP Neo Hybrid, cut the back flap off, so the battery sticks through , and that way, it looks sexy and it provides the functionality you need
Also, a fellow xda member has posted a picture about how it would look

What's with the lip around the back? is it because of your cut? BTW, whats the material on the back of the seido? it doesnt look plastic..is it matte or something?
Yes it's because of the cut. I could probably cut a little more to make it more streamlined.
The seidio with NFC has a soft touch battery cover. It matches the case and feels great in the hand.

Thanks for bringing this product to my attention. They also have a deal on a free case with a order. I just placed my order. Thanks again man.

I cant believe people are paying $30 for that.

I wanted to see the free case that comes with it. However, I really like the idea. I could purchase an extra back for my phone so I could just swap backs when I am leaving the house. I WISH I could see this in stores first as I have watched the video on how to tell which size to use, but I am not sure as to how far down on my fingers I would hold the phone. I also would like to see how easy it would be to pull the adhesive of; I would hate to substitute this as a case and then be out in the Texas heat with this thing on and the adhesive wear off, sending my $600 phone plummeting to its death. However, pretty good review I will keep my eyes on this accessory.
Oh, and I am also curious as to much thicker the small and medium
TL;DR: I need to see this in person first before I spend $30.

Put that good phone to use and give them a ring to make sure it is in stock before you go.
Just got this today. The thing looks quite functional, but I wonder how durable it is in the long run?
The case seems like generic black TPU, feels a bit rubbery. Although, I haven't owned a phone case in a while so I can't say. I'm on the fence about it, but will put it through its paces before passing judgment.

Training us to hold the phone is not the point. I can't even reach the Menu button or a lot of real estate on this phone much less hold it without the threat of dropping it while trying to operate one handed. With one of these my thumb will be able to reach all areas of the screen with no danger of me dropping the phone. There are many times when one-handed usage is ideal, but this phone is so large for most it's not possible. I bought one just the other day and only wish I had happened upon this thread first to get the free shipping. Did get a free case, though.

Just wondering if once on is there any method to loosen the adhesive to take it off. Due to dropping my first phone I have an extra case as well as an extra battery. I'm planning on using both cases-will place Flygrip on one and leave the other original. I'm just thinking I might not like the color (I ordered white for my blue S3) and may order another color and take the first one off.
I picked one of these up a couple months ago when they were on sale for $20, now they're on clearance for $0.01 plus shipping. One caveat is that they make the phone a little too bulky to comfortably keep in your front pocket if you're wearing jeans, but if you live in a temperate area, you're probably keeping your phone in a coat pocket this time of year, anyway. You also lose the ability to use the kickstand in portrait orientation without removing the phone from the case, but for me that doesn't come up too often, and if I really want to do it, doesn't really take very long to pop the phone out and disconnect the charging cable. The edge has a nice tight fit, doesn't seem to trap dirt around the edges like some cases do, the back has a big battery that just about doubles the life of the phone (mine already had pretty good battery life after upgrading to a Rezound battery) and also gives your camera lens some protection. A pretty nice accessory for anyone on a two-year contract who's going to be rocking the Thunderbolt for at least a few more months!

Thank you. Just ordered one.
Thanks to the OP. I ordered one and already received it, charged it, and briefly tried it on for size. I will warn folks that the case is pretty large and adds considerable size and weight to the already bulky and heavy Tbolt. The materials used and look of the case is fine (though I guess the rubber will act as a lint magnet if you keep your phone in your pocket), and getting close to twice battery life is a really good thing. But I am not so sure I would want to use it daily.... perhaps it is really well-suited for trips where you may not have ready access to a plug. I also have a Trent external battery which I bring in my backpack on trips. This case probably would be a good solution when I know I will be traveling but don't want to carry the backpack or Trent external battery.
For $5, it gets a :good: but a qualified one...
Wow thanks for the heads up! I jumped out of bed and ordered 2, one for me and one for my dad. Our ThunderBolt is old but now is the best time to buy for it lol.

Mine just got here. Build quality seems really good. Pretty thick though...I think this is as better option than an extended battery since you can easily take it off without fooling with covers, etc. And it is easy to charge separately in your hotel room (no need to carry a battery charger or swap batteries at night etc). I figure I can put it on and support the battery during the day in my bag and take it off and put just the phone in my pocket at night.

Pull up the picture of the case.
Where it bulks out on the side of the case, there is a charging plug built in that plugs into the charging port of your phone... just like your normal charger. The case charges just as your phone battery does and holds a charge. Once your phone is ready to be charged, you simply just turn on the case and the charge that is being held in the case is transferred into your phones battery.

I must admit, its a very useful case. Very bulky but its worth it.
However, if your phone dies completely and you have this case to charge it back up, it will not charge it to the full 100%, but you'll get a good 60%-75% charge from it. Still awesome though.

As the previous poster said, the PowerSkin wouldn't work with the extended battery (wouldn't fit over the hump, but works with the Rezound and other replacement batteries that fit in the stock battery cover). It would be scary fat if such a PowerSkin was made that could work with the extended battery ("Is that a brick in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?").

This power-skin company pissed me off today. One of the power-skins that I ordered went bad and does not charge, come on or do anything.
Anyways, I sent a message to do the warranty return on it because it has a 1 year warranty on it... right? Wrong! Apparently when a product they have is on sale, it only is covered for 30 days and they truly failed to mention that, didn't they?!
Yeah, so that company officially blows... in my opinion.
Beware of their "sale" items because if they go bad after 30 days, you're screwed.

Lol, I have used all versions of the morphie with the iPhone at work. Didn't realize I had to post my resume .
I got my limefuel case in ~2 days ago and have been using it pretty steadily. It adds not as much bulk as you would think and feels incredibly solid. No movement at all of the phone when it is in the case.
Turned the case on today around 30% battery. With light to medium use it charged it up to 90%.

The thing is, we want to know your experience with the cases listed. We don't care about your experience with past cases. Thus saying the case is on its way doesn't add any value when we are trying to decide which case to buy.
I noticed the limefuel only has a 3 star rating on amazon which concerns me slightly. Is it easy to add / remove your phone? I would use this case when I won't have access for to a charger for vacations or days I am out and about. I can't see using it for an everyday case.

The case is very easy to remove. I bought this case for the same reason, I go to Disney several times a year and generally am spending the whole day away from a charger.
I am actually surprised by that raitijg and could have sworn when I ordered it was still at 4 stars. The case has a nice finish very similar to the nexus 5 itself. Unfortunately I did not bring the case to work today as I was annoyed with going to charge my phone last night and seeing it at 90% battery.

I noticed the limefuel only has a 3 star rating on amazon which concerns me slightly. Is it easy to add / remove your phone? I would use this case when I won't have access for to a charger for vacations or days I am out and about. I can't see using it for an everyday case.

What kind of company delays the product this much?
Also, how did some of you receive the case already?
