I picked one of these up a couple months ago when they were on sale for $20, now they're on clearance for $0.01 plus shipping. One caveat is that they make the phone a little too bulky to comfortably keep in your front pocket if you're wearing jeans, but if you live in a temperate area, you're probably keeping your phone in a coat pocket this time of year, anyway. You also lose the ability to use the kickstand in portrait orientation without removing the phone from the case, but for me that doesn't come up too often, and if I really want to do it, doesn't really take very long to pop the phone out and disconnect the charging cable. The edge has a nice tight fit, doesn't seem to trap dirt around the edges like some cases do, the back has a big battery that just about doubles the life of the phone (mine already had pretty good battery life after upgrading to a Rezound battery) and also gives your camera lens some protection. A pretty nice accessory for anyone on a two-year contract who's going to be rocking the Thunderbolt for at least a few more months!

Thank you. Just ordered one.
Thanks to the OP. I ordered one and already received it, charged it, and briefly tried it on for size. I will warn folks that the case is pretty large and adds considerable size and weight to the already bulky and heavy Tbolt. The materials used and look of the case is fine (though I guess the rubber will act as a lint magnet if you keep your phone in your pocket), and getting close to twice battery life is a really good thing. But I am not so sure I would want to use it daily.... perhaps it is really well-suited for trips where you may not have ready access to a plug. I also have a Trent external battery which I bring in my backpack on trips. This case probably would be a good solution when I know I will be traveling but don't want to carry the backpack or Trent external battery.
For $5, it gets a :good: but a qualified one...
Wow thanks for the heads up! I jumped out of bed and ordered 2, one for me and one for my dad. Our ThunderBolt is old but now is the best time to buy for it lol.

Mine just got here. Build quality seems really good. Pretty thick though...I think this is as better option than an extended battery since you can easily take it off without fooling with covers, etc. And it is easy to charge separately in your hotel room (no need to carry a battery charger or swap batteries at night etc). I figure I can put it on and support the battery during the day in my bag and take it off and put just the phone in my pocket at night.

Pull up the picture of the case.
Where it bulks out on the side of the case, there is a charging plug built in that plugs into the charging port of your phone... just like your normal charger. The case charges just as your phone battery does and holds a charge. Once your phone is ready to be charged, you simply just turn on the case and the charge that is being held in the case is transferred into your phones battery.

I must admit, its a very useful case. Very bulky but its worth it.
However, if your phone dies completely and you have this case to charge it back up, it will not charge it to the full 100%, but you'll get a good 60%-75% charge from it. Still awesome though.

As the previous poster said, the PowerSkin wouldn't work with the extended battery (wouldn't fit over the hump, but works with the Rezound and other replacement batteries that fit in the stock battery cover). It would be scary fat if such a PowerSkin was made that could work with the extended battery ("Is that a brick in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?").

This power-skin company pissed me off today. One of the power-skins that I ordered went bad and does not charge, come on or do anything.
Anyways, I sent a message to do the warranty return on it because it has a 1 year warranty on it... right? Wrong! Apparently when a product they have is on sale, it only is covered for 30 days and they truly failed to mention that, didn't they?!
Yeah, so that company officially blows... in my opinion.
Beware of their "sale" items because if they go bad after 30 days, you're screwed.

How much extra life do you get with this Ebay Chinese extended battery? I am wanting one bad, because when I use my phone the battery drains so quickly. When just sitting there in standby it last a long time, but sometimes I like to just lay back on the couch and play games, music, surf the internet or do many other things with my phone. If anyone will post their experience with these Chinese batteries, I would very much appreciate it. I don't trust any of the reviews on the site from OP.
I got it!
I got 2 batteries, 2 back covers and wall/usb charger of this same battery off of Ebay a couple of weeks ago for $29.99 plus $7 shipping. They were working good on Myn release #3 pretty well as they reached max conditioning. I have got almost 30 hours with 4 to 5 hours of uptime. Now trying to finalize my setup of Myn #4 so I can get same performance.

They work great!! They really are just as good as the Seidio. There is a LONG thread on AndroidForums. Some people have both the Seidio battery and the ebay battery, and say that they last an equal amount of time. As far as how long it will last you, that all depends on how you use it (as I'm sure you know). With light use mine will easily go over 30 hours up time and with heavy use I can still get 15 hours up time with 7 hours awake time. FWIW, GPS and mobile data are on 100% of the time on my phone and bluetooth and wifi also run a good bit with the occasional 4G. YMMV

These Chinese batteries they are selling on eBay are actually two batteries stuck together and wrapped up...
http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-Extended-Ba...ccessories&hash=item564538af3b#ht_1842wt_1371
Already got mine from VZW, but if these are real (he states OEM, so if it's not he is violating eBay policy) it's a deal you can't really pass up if you want the extra battery life.
**NOTICE** Users have found out that, while the actualy battery in this auction is the OEM HTC 2750, the battery door is a cheap knockoff. It is a solid black battery door that does not fit on easily. The seller is offering a $4 refund to anyone who purchased.
I would get the refund, try demanding for more, and then be sure to report the listing to eBay also.
EDIT #2 The listing has been taken down.
Wow, good find. I just ordered one. Thanks
Just bought one, any easy way to verify authentic vs knockoffs?
If you already own an extended you can get one for really cheap without the door!

God damnit I bought mine from Verizon like two months ago for $50.
Wow, price has really come down. I can't see myself without an extended battery nowadays. Def worth the money.
have been considering an extended battery..price's are more reasonable now. will probably make the plunge soon. any big time differences with all the mah's out there?
Pretty good deal.
Anyone get one yet? I need one but want to make sure this is legit
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I got one. Don't get it, the battery is legitimate but the door is a plain black door and not the HTC door. It works but it doesn't for my active extended case.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
My battery door doesn't even snap in place. The seller offered me a $4 refund but my request was for a replacement door. I couldn't even find a replacement door online for less than $10.
Same here. It feels like it will break but put the bottom 3 tabs in first and gently push down around the sides and it should go on.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
After a few email exchanges between myself and the seller, I opened a case on eBay. He/she refused to refund more than $4 and refused a return. The cheapest authentic cover I could find was $18.00.
At this point I will just go to the Verizon store and pick one up.
Just how much of a difference does the extended battery makes? I mean it is worth $50?
It is to me, on a normal workday my phones go from fully charged to nearly dead within 3-4 hours. I carry around a spare battery for my Galaxy S but with my Thunderbolt this extended battery has gone all day and then some.
Granted my usage isn't the norm by any means but it greatly extended my time between charges.

damn, turns one of the nicest slim phones around into a brick.
can't they up the mAh without making it so huge?
I'll wait for a Mugen that doesn't require a bigger back. I had a Mugen for my palm pre and it was fantastic. It wasn't a huge boost but it lasted a few hours longer.
I'd rather keep a charged and ready to go 2nd battery on me for when or if it's needed rather than deal with that kind of added bulk. That's one of the 3 primary reasons we all bought this phone other than the fact its Android based.
1. The screen is big and drop dead gorgeous
2. Its fast as hell
3. Its THIN as hell
I wouldn't give up reasons 1 or 2 any more than I would 3.
P.S. Re reading this I don't mean it to sound like a thread crap. I'm sure there are some users out there who are jumping on this, so thanks for bringing it to their attention.
I don't need the extra bulk. This is the solution I would consider. Comes with a Samsung battery:

why not just use the Mugen 2000 mAh battery?
i only trust OEM batteries when it comes to Extended
besides 2000 - 1850 = 150 mAh gain, not really worth the upgrade
however 2100 - 1850 = 250 mAh gain, that is at least a decent quater pound over the original
it should at least give you another hour with 250 mAh
but 150 wont even last you 30min
according to the mAh consumption history of my phone, it averages around 213 to 555 mAh when in use, game or web surfing
iddle is 2 mAh

About the same price, OEM it is.
OEM Sammy has higher capacity, which is usually what they state. 3rd party batteries are generous with their numbers and tend to lie.

Agreed. OEM or not, it doesn't fit. I could rig a laptop battery up to my phone, that doesn't mean it's better. "but all you have to do is leave the battery door off and duct tape it to the back..." Um....no thanks. I don't care what kind of battery it is, if it doesn't fit, it's a waste of time.
Here's the extended Galaxy Nexus battery in my SGS2.
Can't tell you the battery life yet, gimme a day or two.
I'm not using the back cover, the Seidio Active takes care of it. Not a big deal since the case never comes off anyway.
peel off the label on the battery and take a Dremel to the back cover to make space. The case is thin, but a few thousands of an inch shouldnt hurt. you could possibly have the battery case down too if you're brave.

It seems to give about an hour more roughly. I did a little over 15hrs the other day (auto sync, BT, 4G, yadayada). I usually finish with about 14 normally.
YMMV, you may or may not see any difference.

Update
Update on my experience with this case. I already tore the leather for the flip front cover, so to me that part is poorly made. I simply cut it off since I didn't want to see that tear all the time. On Saturday upon receiving this case I fully charged both my phone and the case and started using them both around 4 PM. With normal use for me the case died today around 10 AM and I have been running off of the phone battery every since.
I can't say that I'm going to use this case every day as it makes the phone a little bulkier than I would like, but for me, this case will come in handy more often than not. Overall, I am happy with my purchase thus far with the exception of the tear. We will see how it does after several charging cycles.
I'm not too much of a fan of flip cases. They conform you to use the device as a book or in landscape orientation. If they made a version that would flip upward like a traditional paper note pad as opposed to off to the side. definitely buy it if one was made like that. I wish mophie would make their charging cases for the note 2.
