I've updated my Kindle Fire to CM10 and it was quite smooth until I installed some apps from Play Store. Suddenly, I lost the sound on both speaker and earphone. Is this root issue or am I missing some thing ?
No it`s just you I guess I would be looking to uninstall what you installed from the play store. Look for apps that are specific to sound just a guess.
My ASOP 10-10 Kindle Fire was doing just fine, then just yesterday, my notification sounds starting being off.
Then all my audio started being off.
I tried to then use the Unofficial CM10 mod, but that didn't work, so I went back to the 10-10 build from Hashcode and after a clean install, the speakers are still not working right.
If anyone can come up with a reason for this, that would be great!
Get a stable rom. I am using AlienDroid 21.11.12 and it hasn't done anything bad on me. try twa_prv's roms or hashcodes latest. good luck.
title says it all, turned on my Fire Tv and all there is a blank screen. I'm at a loss what would cause this? full sd card perhaps? I have XBMC installed with Xbmc launcher installed. Funny enough i can still access voice control through the remote and access apps like netflix. Any help would be great
Samething happen to mines yesterday. Now it wont even make sound or play any content.
What firmware version did each of you last have?
If both are the same, then it might be related to the issue.
Or bad problems with XBMC and/or the location you got it from including how you got it.
The same problem happens to my unit today. No video signal from HDMI to TV. How can I reset the unit?
Iv got a dozen AFTV 1's and sticks!
However my first AFTV2, after opening and turning it on for the first time, it updated and then booted into a blank screen, nothing! Could not get into the resolution settings, nothing dead! Kaput! sent it back!
2nd AFTV2 I had issues with connecting to the wifi, and then when it was downloading the update, the wifi kept dropping out so I had to download it in bits, when it finally downloaded it installed but the new Wi-Fi remote keeps dropping off! Difficulty in pairing it up at times - so annoying! I tried everything in the end I just give up and used my fire tv stick remote!
I have found that apps I used on the AFTV1 like Advanced Task Killer no longer works as it does not show the correct RAM and does not show the processes that are currently running, so I can’t kill Kodi if Kodi crashes! Works perfectly on AFTV1.
On AFTV1 I use the standard amazon 4 USB amazon hub with a wireless mouse dongle and usb drive and both work, on the AFTV2, the hub doesn’t work, I haven’t tried to power it to see if that would work!
No optical, I guess no big deal as HDMI to TV then optical out to sound receiver! Will try this way! But I would of thought going directly would be better!
Apps like CCleaner and others the screen goes small like an android phone! Or stretched on some apps! On the AFTV1 the screen would at least get filled to the whole screen! It makes these side loaded apps look crap!
I can’t find the 4K content? Although I don’t have a 4K TV! Do you need to connect to a 4K TV for this content to suddenly become available?
The AGK FIRE app doesn’t work! My AFTV2’s don’t even appear on the list, so I can’t side load apps from say another AFTV or phone!

Hey all -
I still use my 1st gen Kindle Fire primarily for reading books with the Kindle App, and also a bit of web browsing.
I'm running the last available nightly otterx build of CyanogenMod 11 (from 2015-11-08), and despite turning off all animations and experiments in turning up the clock speed of the CPU, it's very slow and apps crash often and the system often reboots. Normally with the Kindle app, I need to launch it a few times before it actually works properly. (The first few times it usually stops responding and closes.)
All of this is to ask: would I be better off going back to the stock Kindle Fire OS if I'm going to use it mostly for reading? Or would perhaps a different ROM help? Thanks!
same question....
I have a 1st gen rooted Fire TV. Apps often take a WHILE to open. Does anyone else have this problem?
Bumping this. I did a factory reset. It didn't help. Running 5.2.6.0 rooted FireTV 1. Installing and running apps take a while. Most of the time you wait on a black screen with three animated dots in the lower right corner. Sometimes the whole FireTV freezes while it tries to open the app. All other functions are fast including running apps.
