I am new to the custom rom thing but I am loving it because I was about to throw this phone away "Xperia S" but after playing around with roms and kernels I am back to liking my phone again. My question is related to the battery, I added the PAC rom V18 and I also added the Nova kernel V5 but my only complaint is the battery is drained very fast that it doesn't go through the day, I am an average user so I don't listen to music or watch movies. Is there a solution or a kernel that can improve the battery life.
Thanks

Follow these steps:
1. Use your battery to 0%
2. Charge it to 100%
3. Go to CWM > Advance
4. Wipe Battery Stats.
5. Fix Permissions (This may take sometimes).
6. Again use your battery to 0%
7. Again charge it to 100%
I looked for wipe battery data in the advanced tab in CWM recovery but I didn't find it

Alright, I'm a noob, I was with you up to reboot your device. "Go to recover and delete battery stats" was where you lost me. Maybe some more detail or a hint on where I can look to learn about it would be super helpful. Thanks.

Are you rooted at all? Installed any custom recovery? i.e. CWM or TWRP. You need to have installed a custom recovery to delete battery stats.
As for the android OS usage, that's very weird. Try searching it up on google and see if any results pop up. You could delete battery stats but not sure if that'll help. If you'd like to know how though, let me know.
If u r rooted and dnt have a recovery, download a app called 'sdmaid' frm store, and u wil get an option of delete bat stats!

Not rooted, yet, but plan to add I learn more. Well full charge tonight and see if it clears. If not, will search for similar issues as you suggested. Thanks.

I had that happen to me when I first bought the phone. Was terrified I would have to return it. Just charge it to 100% and reset it. No reason to put it in recovery or anything. That fixed it for me.

Might be a battery calibration issue. I know there is a calibration app in the play store but you need root in order to use it. Ive used it on my burst to calibrate bat info, so it should work on the ion.

And if that doesnt help you could try flashing the firmware again. If all fails then you have a hardware issue.

Get the back up and restore app from the sticky thread in the dev section (I think that's where it is) instal it on your phone they get flash tool click the little padlock icon it will help you root when it says click restore in the app push it and wait. It will restart then say it's done and you're all done.

Hello guys,
I'm having issues with my battery when using the same ROM more than 2 days. I explain myself, my problem is after a complete battery cycle (from 100% to 1% then charging...) my battery drains drasticaly (look at the screenchot). I did a reboot and it dropped from 95% to 30%. It happens to me on these ROMs (Rootbox, Carbon, SlimBean, Illusion...) I use KT kernel and sometimes BMS but same result. So i dunno if the problem comes from the ROMs or the kernels... I will look further into better battery stats to see which app is causing this.
Thanks for helping and sharing your stats !

I would try a full cycle or two with the stock kernel.
Or if you want to go one step further. Backup everything, nandroid and Odin back to stock and try a full cycle on that.

You could install Wakelock detector, [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en] maybe its some crazy thing that eating battery.
Try using intellidemand as your governor on kt kernel, i was having problems like you until I used that governor.
Hope this gets resolved

Battery calibration is a myth.

After two or three charge cycles if your battery problem persists, it's most likely an app draining your battery. Or worse yet, your battery is shot.

Hi, this is a probably already answered. I am new with root and flashing rom. After i rooted my galaxy note 2 N7105 and using jedi x16 rom. Start to drain my battery fast. I already read many post about cpu governor and tweaks. I tried different governor but it has no help. Still my battery drain fast. Any suggestion why i encounter this battery drain? Sorry for my bad english.
Thanks!

My advice, better stay close to ROMS close to stock. Plus, turn off sync, google back up, motion if you don't use/need any of those features. And explore the settings, there are things that you can turn on/off to save your battery.
Thanks!another question. Is it true that i need to wait a couple of days to so that my noye 2 can adjust to the new rom? Because. I rooted and flash jedi x16 last thursday only.

Since it is recommended by the devs, yes.
Also try charging your phone til 100% then wait for a half an hour at least then unplug it, then go to recovery mode(CWM recovery) and under advance, wipe battery stats.
And you can try DisableService app from playstore, it can disable unnecessary services of any app. Less services running, less battery drain. Be careful though with what services you disable. Here's the link for the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice

Yes charge it until 100% and wait for it to charge a little more, at least half an hour. Cause sometimes 100% isn't really 100%, that's why this procedure is needed for the phone to know what's really a 100% charge. It's like a calibration. I think you can do it only on one battery since every battery is not exactly the same.

Are you using a white theme on your rom? Better change it to black or stock theme. White colors makes the pixel on your screen light up and drain battery.

No offense but you know, I used to do all this battery stat wipe stuff. Calib...etc. Then I started seeing articles about battery crash and low burn in. On top of that I read increasingly more about how chain fire himself said wiping battery stats is placebo if you think it is healthy or has any positive effect ...I really wanted not to believe it. Lol but hey that was couple years or so ago. I Dont mess with the stats unless I'm testing my work.
