Guys,
Recently I found out that Timescape exists (I know it sounds ridiculous). I connected my Twitter and Facebook accounts without any problems. Sadly though I tried to refresh the feed, when I get a notification of Facebook saying: "Could not update from Facebook, please tap here to retry." I don't know but am I the only one getting this error?

Facebook changed their SDK, and ICS is still using the old one. It won't work until Sony updates to JB.

I find that hard to believe seeing how so many devices are running old versions of Android. Most SDKs have some backward compatibility surely?

It isn't related to the Android, but to Facebook SDK itself. I read it on Android Police or Engadget, don't remember. It just means everyone who uses Facebook SDK in their apps will have to update them. As Sony doesn't provide the Timescape on Play Store, you need to wait until they update the Android. I don't think a new ICS version will come fixing that.

I have the Same problem , i Reset my phone , reinstalled Stock Rom , still doesent work , i just downloaded the timescape from one of the other Xperias and it worked fine for a few months and now i have the same problem
Same, and I agree with Felimenta97, it's app related...
I just deactivated the FB account , cleared the data in FB and related apps. Then reactivated and login FB in app and enabled FB inside Xperia , Timescape FB feed is working properly am in Xperia ultimate HD ROM

Mine is unlocked and I can share apps.
Only syncing contacts with pics etc doesn't work after unkocking. It only syncs birthday and email now - not 100% about email

Prob solved by reinstalling weather widget, n need games and apps application too, or else it wont post on fb even though u can post it..
Btw, anyone knows why there is connection error on games and apps application? Mine having that problem...

This problem is related to my gf's Gio, and she's driving me crazy to solve this
Well, a few days ago I flashed a CM ROM on her Gio, everything ok, Gio is great and so on, but her facebook app stopped updating the feed and she can't comment or send messages to anyone, she can only put "Likes" on the first feed page.
I thought it could be a problem related to the rom, flashed the adrenaline ROM and the problem remains, I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens.
Can anyone give me an idea?

Uninstall the facebook application. Reinstall, try if it works.
If that was the case, my apologies to him. No disrispect was intended.
Anyway, on my first post I mentioned that I already did that: "I unistaled, cleared data and unistaled, nothing happens."
use an alternative facebook app, the normal one is slow, buggy.

+1 - Facebook apps sucks big time. Look at the comments on market, most of them are negative. I'm using FriendCaster, it's pretty fast...
Well, I tried the older version of facebook app and it is working.

None of them works for me in cyanogen Rom.

Damn, the problem returned even on the older facebook app. Suddenly its impossible to coment and doesnt update...

Is there any facebook app with chat? (without the official) I know that there's a facebook chat app, but she would have to use 2 apps intead of one.
I'm using CM9 Beta 8 and I do receive FB updates and feeds, but when I click on a post, the post is blank.

This is irritating me beyond belief.
I'm on stock .55 and the widget was working yesterday even. I have not done anything since then to my phone. It's constantly giving me Location not found. I tried adding a new widget, I get the same thing.
I tried restoring with TB nothing. I tried clearing data and nothing. I even tried doing a CWM from one week ago and still nothing. It's like it's completely broken.
My Wifi is working fine, mobile data fine, GPS fine...under Location Services everything is turned on. I don't get it.
Same here. I am sick and tired of these problems with stock Sony apps. First Timescape, now this. They really should start pulling their sh*t together!

wow, and i was just about to do the factory reset! thank god i am not the only one having this problem, it also stopped working today! SONY WHAT THE HELL, I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE! SO MANY PROBLEMS, ITS LIKE THEY GAVE US THE PRODUCT TO MOD AND UPDATE IT BY OURSELVES! THEY ARE NOT HELPING AT ALL! I WANT TO MURDER THEIR FACES!

Accuweather Widget
Sony Accuweather widget has stopped working for me as well. I wonder if it has something to do with the calendar new year and all. "Location not found" is the error I get. Then when I put a know location (like a state) I get "network error". Hope they fix it. Other weather apps take up too much memory for me.
Same here! I found this topic by typing into google "xperia weather widget location not found" and hoping that the problem is not just me. What a lucky bastard I am! I also thought it's accuwarther servers' fault, but why google widget shows weather properly then (as google doesn't support weather forecast facility anymore)?

I'm sorry but at this point it isn't certain that the problem stands at the accuweather servers. The built-in weather service in HTC Sense (Desire X) prevails and works flawlessly today (hip hip hooray) and it's still accuweather. What concerns the Timescape issue, Sony should be able to address it far more promptly. Neither is Facebook some unpopular app/service, nor is Sony some cheap garage reseller company. Currently they just don't respond properly to users' expectations and that's that. Simply not good enough!
So it doesn't matter how sick my opinion makes you feel, not even a tiny little bit. Sony's current approach of "not my fault, not my problem" is stupid, irresponsible and won't bring them any good. Nor the ridiculously delayed JB update will.

As Sony is using accuweather for their widget, there must be some issues between them. About facebook, they recently changed their privacy and security rules and you can't update timescape untill new version of firmware so this version of timescape having issues with updating from facebook (you have a solution for this in mods and apps section if you are using timescape). For jb, i really don't care when it will be updated, as i don't buy phones for updates and i'm satisfied with .45 firmware and couple of mods that i'm using.

So, here is my issue:
Since the last 3 updates I can't log in to the app. No matter what I do i just CAN'T. I have an HTC One X (Tegra 3) woth the SkyDragon ROM (the first time that I got the error I was on stock JB). No matter if I use WiFi or Data, I just can't. I've tried differente roms and all of them had the same issue (i'm starting to think that the issue is inside my phone)
So... If anyone out there is able to help I'll apreciate it.

Ok, I must add: I've tried installing the last working APK for me (2.3.1 version) and it didn't worked!!I got the same error message.
PS: Even I've tried the ROM that you are using now and it did not worked.
Could be something with the registry or something like that?
I've just been trying different things to try and replicate the problem but it doesn't matter what I do, facebook and messenger sign in every time without problem. What versions do you have? I Have Facebook 3.1 and messenger 2.4.3. Also I looked at reviews of the new version of messenger and couldn't see any users having sign in problems

I have the same versions! Well, I found some comments in spanish but they were from a month or two ago... Could be something with my FB config? I mean, I've never touched it before so I guess that it's not. The 2.3.2 version brought me to this point t.t Now if I install an older one it wont sing in that's why I think that it must be something with my phone or the internal storage i dont know!
I'd be shocked if it was your phone/hardware related. storage maybe, but more likely some cached data somewhere. Have you got more than one apk version in storage?

I mean, I believe its something with the storage! Not the hardware!! Must be some sort of cached data like you said! And yes, its the only APK file of the app that I have!
I've googled for almost 2 hours now and can't find anyone with the same problem, l will look again later today. its 4 am here now and time for bed

I can tell you, that your not alone. When i look at the danish reviews of the app i can go back to around november last year when people started having problems with not being able to log in.
I myself and a friend both have the HOX and niether of us is able to log in.
I have tried several times finding a way to repport to bug to facebook, but it seems like all their help sections are just loops refering to each others and never ending in something useful.

I knew I was not alone... Did you tried to format your internal storage? What have you done?
Yea, i have tried that and it did not help.
At the moment i have a little fix to the isue (i like getting notifications whem people write), so i removed all facebook software from my phone and only installed the facebook app (not messenger) and then you will start to get notifications agian.
I would ask you to try and instal the facebook pages app and se if you are able to login there, because I think the same error is in both the messenger and and the pages app.

Nope, I was not able to log in to the facebook pages app too! Could be something with our CID's and our locatons? Have you tried a ROM without "sense" like cyanogen or something?

For example I updated Facebook messenger and now I have latest version same what my brother use on another m8 phone but I don't see these updated things what came with new messenger like these little bubble when u see ppl is reading ur text... Also was same thing with Facebook app ...I have installed latest version but when I opened app I saw older Facebook app... At least now I have latest Facebook app but not messenger ... If u guys understand what I'm talking about and can tell me what to do I'm very thankful...

Actually, I have experienced this strange behaviour before. Unfortunately, I don't know the cause. The solution for me was to remove the app and re-install it.

I tried that but no luck... Also wiped cache and so on ... Before I had same thing with Facebook app but then I did nandroid backup and restored it and then I got new Facebook app but not messenger.... Do u know how big is ur phone cache partition? Mine is over 300 mb... Checked m7 cache partition and there is over 600 mb
