Okay are you just making a statement or are you asking some type of question?
Moderating from my One Xl

Sorry. The question is: will install custom rom and kernel fix these 2 things?

It can and it will. But if you are not willing to root your device, hence loosing your warranty, then I suggest you should first send your phone to the repair center

I wanted to send to repair and then root an install customs... If it would fix than i root.

HTC Watch

I'm on RSK 7.2 by Mr Mefisto and thought I'd try out some cheap movies on HTC Watch. So I registered, paid a few euros and downloaded a few movies. Go to watch them and message comes up "unable to download the license: DRM engine is not initialized".
Can anyone help me out on this problem please?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
DRM is Digital rights management, basically like security to prevent you from copying it. It's possible that the custom ROM doesn't have the DRM engine, for one reason or another.
If you have an account it should be linked to that, so if you tried a different ROM it SHOULD be still available, and may work then.
Is there any way I can get the DRM engine? I haven't changed roms since I bought the films.

Don't know, but I'm only theorising this either way.
Just did full wipe and brand new flash of this Rom but Watch still not working. Anyone else got this problem or got a solution?

Does the ROM include the drmprovider.apk? Don't know of this will fix it or not.

It might because HTC Watch is only meant for newer sense versions I think. Have you seen any evidence of anyone else being able to install Watch on the desire and watch videos?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA
I would have thought this sense version would be ok (3.5) Haven't seen any mention of this problem in the ROM thread and I can't post my problem there cos of site regulations.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
The thing is that ROM is a port rather than an official build ,you only need two more posts to be able to post in the dev section so Id just see if you can get 2 more posts in somewhere by helping someone out or giving your suggestions.

[Q] Is it possible to restore CWM backup from another HOX?

Hello people,
This might be a very stupid question but I'm wondering if that would be ok?
I had a one x before and that one had a lot of issues.. I bought it in Russia so couldnt replace it since I won't go back in a while so I sold it in the UK and bought a new one (actually made carphone warehouse run out of stock by pointing out dead pixels in each one but finally got a perfect one and now I'm wondering if it will be ok to copy the latest backup from my old one and restore it on the new one ?

Yes as. Long as you have a cwm recovery installed and flashed the right boot.img for your custom rom you had on your old phone (check that they are the same version number of the rom).
Then you can restore it and you have it back running.

If your giving someone a backup make sure it doesn't contain any passwords on your data partition.

You're in the same situation as 99% of HOX users. Only unbranded Taiwan and some Elevate members (closed beta test) have it.

You have to have stock rom and lock it again to get the official OTA update. Or you could just install some nice JB custom rom.

Wait and see, if users around you are starting to receive the update and you are not getting it, then you could always re-lock and check for the update, until now we haven't seen an update yet, other then the x.xx.709.x devices or at some elevated users.

You can install apks by enabling unknown sources in settings without root.
If you unlock you can install custom roms and root.

You've done a mistake by posting on a HoX forum cos the majority here love their phones. Newly created account flaming? Original? No. Reported? Yes.

s-off isn't the real problem, however there used to be an app in the play store that allowed you to doul boot your android phone

Try installing this on your phone, and see if it'll work. Used to use it myself to dualboot on the Sensation.
Boot manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5kcngyLmJvb3RtYW5hZ2VyLmxpdGUiXQ
Does it work have you try it?
How would boot img be flashed?

Hi, I tried to make it work and failed so far. Was a great app on my desire hd and sensation but I think devs have stopped working on it.
I tried manual setup of settings but no luck. I'd love to know if you get it to work.
Fyi, I am s-off and have the paid version of bootmanager.

Great, I kept getting my emails bounced because their mail box had hit quota. If that's fixed then maybe they are back on the case.
Cheers
