How do I stop my sms messages from auto backup into my Gmail account?
Go to w.e app you're using and turn it off?

Hi all;
I do prefer the "Mail" app that comes with the phone..the "Gmail" APP when offline do not keep the messages, and you cannot decide the size of the inbox you want to see! I don't like it!
On the other hand I cannot remove the GMail app from my phone.
And what is worst is that when you set up the google phone it asks for your gmail login details (used also for Google+) and the Gmail app automatically is activated and start working everytime phone has internet connection!
Any idea on how to disable Gmail app without deleting the google account?
Thanks
I have an issue with my phone showing me all GMAIL contacts, as we know gmail seems to add every single email you have sent emails to on your contact list, so I see all of these.
I want to see my gmail contacts, but really only phone numbers. Can I do this in the messages app?
The display option in the contacts app doesn't affect the messages app.
Is there any way to change this behavior?
Anyone use this app?
For some reason it is not auto backing up my sms or mms... Only call log.
How do I fix this?
Try using SMS Backup+. It will backup your SMS/MMS and has an option to put your call log into a calendar.
Text messages are being delivered as emails in my work email account. I get them fine as regular texts but they are duplicated in email form.
How did this happen? Can I prevent it?
Thanks
it's because when you setup your exchange account you left everything as default and one of the sync options is SMS. go back into the email account settings and uncheck Sync SMS
Thank you. That did it

Click to collapse
After root, it seems the default message as app is the only message app that can send SMS. I've tried mood, Pulse and messages (Google)
did you set your sms gateway number ?
