Have this annoying problem that when I when I make a voice call the person on the other side hears my voice but I can't hear theirs. When this happens I also can't hear the dial tone before the one way conversation starts. 1 out of 4/5 calls this happens
Does anyone experience the same problem?

hi i have been having this problem on various 4.2 and 4.3 aosp roms. after a lot of trial and error i found that the in call sound worked if some sound was played before dialing or receiving for the first time. it could be touch pad sound or unlock sound or dial pad sound. as i dont enable any of these i used tasker to play a short sound immediately after every boot and the in call sound has become consistent after using this method
hope this helps

I observed the same issue with incoming calls, but never noticed it for outgoing calls. I know when a call is about to come in, because my phone will just go black first, then I hear the ringtone about 3 seconds after, then the screen appears after 3-5 seconds so I get to pick up the call.

Ditto. Incoming calls are difficult at best to answer, but outgoing is no problem whatsoever.
I am experiencing the same behavior, i gussed it is performance issue with the phone app, but this is exeteremly annoying, however, wont stop me from using this rom as my main phone. Wish there was a fix though

I had incoming call lag in winmo, wouldn't ring until the other person had heard like 3 rings. To be honest, I haven't really checked the delay since switching to xdandroid.
FWIW, I reduced the delay back in winmo days by lowering the slot cycle index. No idea if that change would carry over into android or not. Or even if the change is still intact for me since I've installed a vzw update since I did that. Don't care much lately either, some calls I prefer to miss
Does anyone else have problems with their mic when answering incoming calls? I answer the call but the person on the other end can't hear me regardless if the speakerphone is on. I'm forced to en the call and then call them back. The person has no problems hearing me at that point.
I've used voice recorder to test the mic and it picks up my voice no problem.
Thoughts?

That's odd. Sounds like a hardware problem. You can try a few simple things like try flashing a different rom and see if you have the same problem.
Or you can take it in to the Sprint Store and see if they can repair it
Since I ported my number into Google Voice, I have been using Hangouts Dialer as my go-to voice service on my S3. My calls will usually connect after a 3-5 second pause. I can then hear the other person crystal clear, but they can only hear my voice garbled and extremely low volume. It doesn't matter if I'm on WiFi or mobile data. It doesn't matter if I make the call or receive the call. I am currently using PAC-man ROM 4.4.4.RC-3. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to solve it? Is there anyone who has been using Hangouts Dialer regularly that does not have this issue that can maybe help? Thank you!
OK, so after further testing I have discovered that Hangouts is using the wrong microphone for audio. It seems to be using the speakerphone microphone (at the top of the phone) instead of the handset microphone at the bottom. Is there any way to switch the microphone that is being used for just this application?
Does anyone have any experience with using the call recorders? I've been using the same call recorder and maybe 2 or 3 updates ago the person on the other line is so loud that it distorts their voice to the point where you can't make out a word they are saying. I use this for work and really would like to get it working again, I've had no help from the developer. Does anyone know if there is a way to go into the build of the app and tweak the volume settings for the incoming caller so it's not distorted?

turning off "ok google" will not work. I am having the same issue and struggling to find a solution. below are my findings so far:
- after placing a voice call through a third party app such as whatsapp or viber, a normal call will have a one way audio.
- to solve the issue temporary without hanging up: pressing the loud speaker will make the phone work normally.
- after using the temporary solution, you will not be able to have a two way voice call through a third party app unless you press the speaker phone twice... and again the normal call will not work until you press the loud speaker button...
any ideas to solve the issue?
