rooting on mac osx

guys ive never rooted anyones phone before ,however, my friend is willing to lend me his phone for root lol i have no idea if thats such of a good idea but i really want to try . ive flashed roms and kernels but want to know if you guys can tell me steps on what i need to download so i can complete this task .any info would be greatly appreciated .and if you guys can send me links even better =) thanks

If its on 2.3 gingerbread the above method will not work you'll have to use revolutionary.io to root it

what is the newest odin one click rom?

Hi guys i need a little help here, i gave my ET4G to the wife and her phone started to act up when i had the phone i was rooted and everything know she keeps getting that update notification thing and the phone is freazing and everything, i am just wonder last time i used the odin one click install but that was months sinse i had even looked at the et4g thread. so i looked at the developer section and got a little lost on what rom to use.
if somebody can point me to the right thread i would really apprecicated.
i am looking for the odin one click newest stock rooted. thanks guys i really appreciate the help.

There's a new thread over in android dev section with someone who is testing. Hoping it's true and patiently waiting. I have tried googling as well but all links lead to the same dead place as filipin said. I even soft bricked trying one of those bs one click script methods for ics and jb phones. Luckily RUU was here! Anyway let us know if anyone finds anything else please, I'll do the same!

Root Chinese 820 Android 4.1.1 phone

Hi Guys,
I need a help with rooting my new Chinese Phone. Official name is 820.
It's a 1 GHz Rheastone processor with Android 4.1.1. More details here in attachment.
Any ideas which app should I use to root this non-branded phone?
Also can you advise a custom ROM?
Any help appreciated.

No, not yet. I was waiting for some advise. Actually the reason why I want to root it is mainly the poor battery life. I'm hoping to freeze some unnecessary apps and processes. Anyway thanks for the hint. I was planning on trying One Click Root.

From my experience one click root does not work on chiniese phones (at least those which i got). GL - i hope you have some succes!

Please let me know if you manage to root the phone. I tried both, xray and one click root, but it didn't work

I have ordered this phone also. First of all I am interested in backing up the ROM and the Firmware of it. I had a w007 MTK6575 very nice and all these fynctions was easy by mtk tools. Does it has something similar?

I'm NOT created this software, but it's ONLY WORK for me. Think before posting..

System recovery needed.
Hi Guys,
Does anybody have a system recovery file for this phone? I didn't make one for myself and now my system is broken and I have no options for recovery.

1. PJ46IMG.zip on the secure microSD the Java card or Micro SD card
and insert it into a USB SD card reader
. reader insert the USB OTG-Y-type cable female ends
. OTG-Y cable into the USB port on the phone
. cables into the power
reboot into the bootloader
7 Once the the Bootloader file will phone load, you will land in the S58 menu. Clean S58 data, you have successfully device is set to S-OFF.

2. USB SD card reader
3.Micro SD Java card or Micro SD card
4.5V + power supply (standard wall charger or the official HTC charger)
5.PJ46DIAG.zip - Clean S58 data program-specific S720E/S728e. Correct the DIAG tot have a size of 964KB or 941KB, and must contain the string "clean S58 ..." can be checked with hexedit or any similar hex editor.

Tried on my wifes with no luck at all :crying:

I'm not sure, but as I received my HOX from South Korea through eBay, Iwasn't that much into HOX, rooting, etc..
but I'm pretty sure that I had the SuperUser CID 11111111111111.
Is it possible that I made something wrong so that my CID's now HTC__001?

This wouldnt work...if s-off was easy enough and so easily possible, everyone around here would have had s-off already...the developers are trying their best and we can always count on xda maybe we'll get in a few months , who knows? Or maybe never...because the issue here is nvidia and tegra...that is why it is soooo hard...if it was snapdragon, we would have had s-off already like One S, XL etc...

So lets see how it goes.
*Doubt it will work, but worth a try
