I used HTC unlock beofre i went S off and mainly used ADB on my computer everytimeI flashed a new ROM, and believe me I think I was addicted. I had semi similiar issues, and had to use similiar routines to get it started up. Best afvice go S off. If I could do it anyone can.
first problem I see is that you have s-on,revalutionary worked to get s-off .it was to easy...give it a try
There's a fix!
You can boot into Recovery mode and then flash a backup. if you didn't do a backup then you can you to this very first thread in 'HTC Droid Incredible 2 General' and follow those directions. I've had this happen to me and I fixed it but it wasn't easy.
Yes s-off is a life changing experience. I'm so flash happy that I'm trying to get my friends to let me root there phones so I can flash them too.

This isn't possible.
Yesterday i managed to give my phone a nice bootloop since i flashed the wrong boot image. So i locked my device again in order to perform the RUU-solution. After locking it i tried to flash the files manually (quicker) but run into privilege-errors. The RUU failed too so i unlocked the bootloader again. After that RUU worked fine.
You have to unlock it.
It's nice of you to try but the others are correct
Fast boot is the only way to make a permenant change to the boot. Img . If you are able to write a new one it will just be reverted after a reboot because of the protection

Hi there I followed the steps of the below exactly
1. Download the ROM and place it on your virtual SD card.
2. Relock your bootloader via HTCDev. fastboot oem lock
3. Go into fastboot mode and type 'fastboot oem rebootRUU'.
4. Flash new firmware using this commend: 'fastboot flash zip PJ46IMG.zip' or using Y cable.
4a.On first time running the commend you will see FAILED, don't panic and just run the commend again.
5. Reunlock your bootloader via HTCDev.
6. Flash custom recovery using this commend: 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'.
7. Download boot.img and flash it using this commend: ‘fastboot flash boot boot.img’.
8. Use 'fastboot erase cache' to avoid boot issues.
9. Go into recovery and install the ROM.
10. Reboot your device and enjoy from JB!
When I do step 4 in command prompt it does come back with sending .... (FAILED) FINISHED TOTAL TIME
so I am not sure if that is my route cause of it not loading ? the installer went to 100% with no errors or anything so ? helps please
Obviously it's not going to work if it says failed. What you need to do is repeat that step again until it succeeds.

Hi all,
I've tried to install newer InsertCoin ROM, during HBOOT update, the phone booted to his current ROM with no Wi-Fi or Mobile access, recovery stuck with red triangle, Trying to install some custom recovery using fastboot v1.2 - got "writing recovery - failed not allowed" message. What is the fastest way to get phone back to work?
Did you re-unlock the bootloader after updating the hboot?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Not allowed error is when the bootloader is locked or relocked. Unlock it via the htcdev site and flash a custom rexovery. Then flash the boot img from the new rom, make a FULL wipe in the recovery and install the new rom !

The phone os S-ON , is it ok? Should I flash new image using flashboot or other interface? Thanks In Advance
I'm not talking about S-On ....I'm talking about a locked or relocked bootloader.
Is it unlocked ?
When you succesfully updated your hboot with a firmware flash you MUST unlock the bootloader, flash a new custom recovery, install a new JB rom and flash its boot.img
A custom gets broken when you update the hboot because locking/unlocking will set the phone to factory state. So it will delete the current custom rom.
Also could you, guys, elaborate why my original ROM started to act spooky - no Wi-FI and so on.
Probably because you updated the hboot. You have to start from scratch after that. It gets messed up
I did as you proposed, unlocked bootloader, installed CWM recovery, wiped data, dalvik cache and installed the InsertCoin ROM, the issue - that I got same problems - Wi -Fi displayed error and not started, SIM is not recognized, no network. Could you please advise what to do now?
Flash the boot.img from the insertcoin rom !

Hey guys. So I was trying to install a stock RUU zip and for that I relocked my bootloader. The thing is I'm not being able to install the RUU zip and the phone is bricked, and I just want to unlock the bootloader again and install a custom rom to have this over with. The other thing is that I have many files in there, I had only 3 gb free of memory, and I don't have a backup of those since my computer broke down and I lost my files. Is there a way to backup my files while the phone is bricked? Or a way to unlock the bootloader without wiping my files?
I hope you have good news for me, I'm getting kinda nervous... Thanks in advance

Let me know
You can try to make a backup via the app called Carbon. It does not need root acces or anything.
Thanks everybody! I unlocked the bootloader expecting to lose everything I had but in some crazy way everything is fine, my files are untouched, the phone is boot looping but that I know how to fix without a problem. Thanks for spending your time with me, problem solved
Ah if i recall it right its like this, the very first time you unlock the bootloader
Locked to unlocked
It deletes everything.....when going from
Relocked to unlocked
All is fine as you have experienced now.

Sense your unlocked you can flash a custom recovery using fastboot as i would use twrp. An then download supersu.zip an flash it in your newly installed twrp recovery. An now you are rooted.
Maybe I didn't explain properly my bootloader is not unlocked yet, just wanted to know since the update is there a new root method....? Thanks for replying

nbd. You should be able to use htcdev.com to unlock your bootloader Or you can go the s-off way(which I recommend) use the sunshine app for s-off(if your device is capable of s-off now) an if it is sunshine will s-off an unlock for you an then do what I said above post. Those r really your only 2 choices.
FYI you will need to be on either of the latest two twrp versions to install su binaries properly if you have issues. Sunshine wouldn't work for me but its really easy to unlock bootloader and install twrp and su
If i'm s-off already I should be able to run the latest RUU to get me up to date with the firmware and then flash TWRP and then a rom correct?

You could do that yes. Or just flash the firmware zip an then flash twrp an flash updated ROM an you r up to date....if you run ruu it will wipe your device so backup your stuff to a PC or external an then proceed with ruu an flashing twrp then ROM. After you flash twrp I recommend strongly to make a backup of stock before you wipe to flash new ROM.

I guess i'm confused because of my Hboot being on 3.19. I've been wondering if there is a need to run a higher Hboot that probably came out with the new OTA, but the VenonRom 4.2 has been running with no problems. So i guess what I am really trying to achieve is upgrading HBoot and Radio.
