[Q] GPS on FK23 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hello all! Just curious if anyone else is having GPS issues with stock FK23? I was having problems in the past with my GPS but now it seems completely dead. Right after I updated to JB tonight the GPS worked perfectly. It locked on immediately and was able to load stuff extremely quick. Then after about an hour of fooling with the phone I went to update my weather and nothing... tried navigation and nothing... I downloaded GPS Status to check things out and it just keeps searching, it can't pick up anything.
Any suggestions/thoughts/ideas?
Thanks~!

settings > location access> gps source
see if "use internal gps" is ticked.. try ticking/unticking and force close any gps app and reopen app or reboot.
any luck?
oh shoot... stock, nvmd but go to location settings and give a shot to checking and unchecking everything anyway. Can't hurt.

[Q] Syndicate Frozen GPS Issue

Hey I just flashed Syndicate Frozen yesterday and have not been able to get GPS to lock. I've reflashed it a few times, and one of those times it worked just fine but then it kept turning itself off every time the screen went dark, and I would have to remove the battery to turn it back on again.
Needless to say I've reflashed it a few more times and am still dealing with the GPS lock issue. Is there a fix for this?
Great
Oh and I must say that other then the GPS issue, I think that this ROM is AWESOME!
Try flashing the GPS fix again, not the sync fix... I would link but I'm busy...
Im getting tired of changing this...
try downloading gps status and tools from the market and in tools clear a-gps status.

Google navigation searching for gps

Hey guys when I first bought my nexus my gps was working fine and locking in pretty quick now I have installed the HD rom and it takes for ever to get past the searching for GPS screen. The weird thing is it locks my position instantly but navigation just wont work, any ideas? Sygic works perfectly

same issue of transformer 101
i have same navigation issue with same rom
Hey,
load a different Kernel. I am using Franco's kernel and the gps speed is scary fast. Always connects within 10 seconds. Hope you get sorted.
Try downloading an app called GPS Status & Toolbox (by EclipSim).
Go into the app, press Menu, Tools, then Manage A-GPS state.
Press Reset,
Then go into that menu again and select Download.
Allow the phone to remain fairly still for a while to lock onto some satellites, then after all this it should be much quicker to lock on to your GPS in other apps, eg Google Maps.
I've found this fixes things when my GPS goes awry.

I have the solution to this, found at another forum!
1. Go to "Settings > Accounts > Google > Location Settings".
2. Flip the switch to "On" (I found this was off in my case).
3. Try Google Navigation again, it should work fine.
In JB the location settings need to be enabled in 2 different locations, this fix works flawlessly for me.

[Q] GPS does not lock at all

Yes one of those threads again, I do apologize in advance..
The GPS on my E973 is useless, I tried the GPS status app and its trying to lock for 30 minutes now, doesn't work outdoors, indoors, anywhere.. I checked the settings, everything seems correct, A-GPS data is downloaded..
I'm running stock 4.1.2 but rooted (GPS wasn't working before root either).. Tried this app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44113974#post44113974 but it didn't work..
My previous phone (GS3) had exact same problem whereby GPS would not lock at ALL. The only fix that worked was NAM REBUILD in one of those Samsung hidden menus, it fixed the problem and GPS would even lock in my basement!
Are there any similar fixes for LGOG, can someone please help me out to find solutions? Thanks
bump,
anyone else have GPS issues with this phone?

UPDATE: GPS WORKS. I just went to settings, opened/closed GPS and made sure everything was ticked off.. Reset phone.. Then went outside and waited for 10 minutes and it locked on.. I used GPS Status App, reset A-GPS and downloaded new data..
However, it took a while and isn't as consistent as I hoped it would be, only locks onto 6/15 satellites... Unlike my friends GS4 and Nexus 4 which gets 20/21 satellites locked on.. Its also not good indoors..
But I'm just glad it works..

[Q] GPS stucked

Dears,
anytime I want to use GPS I need to switch it OFF and ON from notification bar, otherwise it doesn't work.
It's enough to open Maps to experience the issue: no GPS notification is shown on the bar, but after switching OFF and ON it loads position within a few seconds.
I usually see GPS notification blinking when there's no GPS app running, so I suspect an application is continuously using GPS, maybe stucking it after some time.
To troubleeshoot I've been doing a full wipe and I've been reflashing ROM; I started with a blank device (only SDcard has not been formatted) and I installed all apps one by one checking anytime the problem.
Well, I installed all apps without the problem to occour, but it started to accour again in some hours.
I don't know what to do anymore, because I'n not able to check which application is using GPS or any GPS related log information.
Can anybody help me?
Phone specs are in my signature.
Thanks and best regards

I used to have that issue ..the best thing is just shut down GPS after usage and switch it on when you want
also maybe try TopNTP it's a GPS fix which allows you to lock to GPS quickly it works by patching the GPS files on your system maybe it may help...just a suggestion

GPS Please HELP!

Hi all,
GPS has stopped working on my M8. It's driving me mad trying to figure out how/why.
I've been on a few different ROM's in last couple months but it doesn't work on any of them.
It turns on it dropdown menu and so on but doesn't actually find satellites.
If i use google maps the marker jumps all over the place and doesn't actually follow me. Same in Sygic.
I'm lost for options. I've tried GPS find apps also. Nothing is working.
Download GPS TEST or GPS STATUS AND TOOLBOX from play.
