My compass is off by 45 degrees. It was fine in stock ICS, when I switched to CM10 the compass went off. When I switched back to stock the problem went away so I thought it was cyanogen. When I did the bell upgrade to jelly bean it came back.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Yep... Don't know how to fix it either...

Where do you live? While 45° is extreme it is still possible, depending on your location, that the difference can be explained by magnetic north vs. True North. Perhaps your custom ROM is toggled for true north and touchwiz is vice versa?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
No it's true north off by 45.

Does anyone know if nfc works on this rom?....I remember seeing it under settings when I was using the inception rom but I was unable to activate it.
And if so where do I find it as it isn't under the wifi/data settings
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Afaik, the glide doesn't have an nfc chip. Although i'd be delighted to be wrong.
Yeah I believe it does.....it just wasn't able to be activated before but supposedly under ics its supposed to work...I just can't seem to find it anymore since I just flashed the new stock ics rom
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
I do not believe the glide has nfc.

The at&t and rogers glides are identical hardware. Wikipedia does not list the glide as having nfc and niether did a couple other spec lists that I encountered on my quick google. In this situation, i'd chalk it up to an oversight in the creation of inception. Once again, i'd love to be wrong though.
Weird because I saw it in a few places.....

Don't know if it's just my imagination, but it seems like the switchover between WiFi and 3G is quicker. No problems with WiFi here.

Anyone notice a difference with new baseband? Not sure if I need to flash it or not. I'm running 4.2 just didn't change bb.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I will do so real life testing tomorrow and I will report back.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I've noticed a huge difference in signal strength. With the old baseband I used to get 2 bars around home and the office.
I switched to DVLF1 from the i9250T for 850Mhz networks and got a slight boost.
But with the 4.2 one I've got full reception at home and office. Also noticed an increase in voice quality.

Thanks guys. I haven't changed baseband since I got my nexus. With my g2x there were always problems when changing.

With the new baseband I am getting an additional two bars where I never had any. Seems to be a lot more power efficient as well.

My Gnex used to not be able to pick up any signal in the basement, now it at least keeps one bar in the worst scenario.

I flashed last night. So far it seems to be doing great. Don't know that my signal is any stronger but it didn't seem to hurt anything.

Best response ever
When a Galaxy Nexus updates OTA from 4.1.2 to 4.2, this baseband update is also included, right?
Nuno
Is the new baseband part of the 4.2 OTA we are starting to receive or is it something that has to be flashed separately ?
If not within OTA, is it not official? How are average users ment to benefit from the improvements ?
thanks
Of course it is part of the OTA. Chill out.
Signal strength on par with all recent basebands.
One huge difference: I keep getting 10 to 13 mbit/s download with XXLH1, whereas I barely got past 5mbit/s on all previous basebands.

Is that on AT&T?
What takes the biggest roll in WiFi signal from a router per say... Cause idk if its me but my WiFi signal is worse with certain ROMs vs other one... Am I crazy?
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
I think it can be related to certain roms. for example I had much better wifi signal with GB than with ICS. Now I have better signal with JB than with ICS, but I'm not sure if it's better than with GB.. I think it's worse a lil bit
i confirm wifi works better with jb... first time i used dmans pacman rom i was picking up shaw open wifi when i drove passed bars..
I think it has to do with the kernel acutally
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Cause I'm literally 2 ft from my router and have just the dot saying I have connection but its gonna be slow as hell... I guess its all in the coding
