Does anyone know if nfc works on this rom?....I remember seeing it under settings when I was using the inception rom but I was unable to activate it.
And if so where do I find it as it isn't under the wifi/data settings
Sent from my SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Afaik, the glide doesn't have an nfc chip. Although i'd be delighted to be wrong.
Yeah I believe it does.....it just wasn't able to be activated before but supposedly under ics its supposed to work...I just can't seem to find it anymore since I just flashed the new stock ics rom

I do not believe the glide has nfc.

The at&t and rogers glides are identical hardware. Wikipedia does not list the glide as having nfc and niether did a couple other spec lists that I encountered on my quick google. In this situation, i'd chalk it up to an oversight in the creation of inception. Once again, i'd love to be wrong though.
Weird because I saw it in a few places.....

Yeah our Glide definitely doesn't have it, I've seen some sites list it, but it's incorrect. I don't have any source to back this up but will look.
Isn't that little square thing behind the battery for nfc?

We dont know, and more then likely Samsung and Tmobile has no clue when its going to drop. People who give you a month or date are guessing and or going off rumors like the person who posted above me.

Basically I'm looking to see if this phone has the ability to see the extra Russian satellites. Like this picture, the square ones are glonass. Gps is so great getting locks with the extra sats. Person already has issues with her current phone (gs2) so that's my main reason for checking. If not I guess gs3 it is =(

Nearly positive it does since it uses the S4 Pro, everything after the S4 should have it built in.

So far the biggest issue for Sprint has been to get the CDMA network working on the Korean port. But that was using the F180K.
Maybe now since the F180L source has been released as well it mayor make a difference.
LG Optimus G E971
I still find it funny that we aren't even on the launch software for most of the gsm phones. Most we launched with v10 and we got two updates taking us to v9 let's hope that changes
I don't care if this is old news or just for accessibility, isn't everyone excited about this?? I sure am!!!! I'm so excited that I am overusing punctuation!!!

We have known this was coming. It sucks now that its here, but there definitely are CDMA carriers, although GSM is the standard, in Europe that might have what we need to get JB on our device.

There are CDMA carriers in Sweden, Russia, Belarus, Poland and many others. While GSM is definitely the standard and overwhelming favorite of the majority of nations, and exclusive in many as well, I personally have used a CDMA phone in Europe.

That is possible, but I'm fairly certain that Sweden is.
I did read once that certain frequencies are reserved by law for GSM which in some countries would probably make it illegal.
ALSO... Once I thought about it, I realized it has been like four years since I used said CDMA phone. Maybe it has since gone the way of cigarette commercials and I'm just behind the times.
