Hey guy, i am afraid of unlocking the bootloader and installing CWM then using rooted ROMS and Kernals because i would like to revert back to fully stock as when i 1st got the device so i can install official OTA's when they are available. Is there anyway to revert back to stock recovery and relock the bootloader? I have tried to search this alot on XDA but nothing seems to help exactly. Can someone please provide instructions to get back to full stock?
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794800 Here you will find how to relock bootloader. To get to stock you need to install via SEUS while recognizing your device as xperia S. later you can root it and edit build.prop file to recognize as SL.

Thanks so much! :good: but will this method remove CWM as well and get back to stock recovery?

maybe you have usb driver issues. please try on a different OS and make sure you have the fastboot drivers installed. also, does your phone have unlocked bootloader?

hello guys pls help me , before flashing i forgot to check usb debugging and my connectivity was in MTP , when flashing it said please check usb debbuging , and u was in MTP mode bla bla , i dnt remmber what it said .. and i plug off usb cable and my xperia play bricked T.T..
As fas as I know - you dont have to be in Mass storage mode, or have USB debugging on - to flash firmwares.
You simply use flashtool, push ftf file you want to it with phone connectet via USB (care which mode or debugging on/off), and do as you are told -> let flashtool prepare, phone off, cable off, hit and hold back button on play, and plug in usb cable... flashing of the ftf should then start and work.
Get a Stock Rom version (they are on xda just search) and flash again, your phone should work fine again
realy , hmm so why my play bricked after flashing , oh get a stock rom , you mean 2.3.4 , im at 2.3.3 when i flashing , can i just flast to 2.3.4 to fix my bricked play ? sory my english is very bad
Nono ...
Can't really tell you why your phone "bricked" (it is not really bricked) maybe you chose a wrong firmware... when you have r800x, go with r800x firmware, if you have r800i, use that firmware
Stock rom is available in 2.3.4 : 2.3.3 : 2.3.2 ..... you choose, what you want.

I msged you. The drivers are in your flashtool folder and then go to ... drivers

Since I want to root my phone and I´m on .69 I´ll have to downgrade to .42 to obtain root and do OTA update to .69. Anyway, downloded tools (flashtool 0.7.1.0, .42ftf file generic, superoneclick) and installed them. Installed the right drivers etc..
Bootloader unlock allowed yes
->bootloader closed, don´t need unlock for this right?
Problem:
1) When selecting ftf file i have no options to click(wipe cache, wipe userdata are not existent) Anyone else experiences this?
2)When going into flash mode(back button pressed and USB cable plugged in) flashtool doesn´t flash the ftf file. Instead it gives me this error

Hello,
i try today for first time to flash my xperia arc. I have unlocked bootloader (by Alejandrissimo), rooted and all the drivers installed and flashtool recognizes my phone.
I flash .62 firmware for my first try and it's flashed ok but then i turn on the phone and it still is in the same .42 firmware and i don't understand nothing.
I paste the flashtool log :

Please help! Disconnect phone and try again?
Try this UK firmware: Baseband 64
https://rapidshare.com/files/698194045/R800i_4.0.2.A.0.62__1253-4437_.ftf
Works for me all the time! No errors and a good firmware
Also are you sure it's unlocked as in bootloader unlocked and not just rooted?
Go to the directory of flashtool and in drivers make sure Flashtool-drivers.exe is installed fully
Good luck
Bootloader is unlocked via Official SE page.
Finally managed to flash Enchanced .58 v2, but im trying to get back to stock .42 UK Generic.
When i try to load .ftf in flashtool, clicking at file in flashmode window. There are no files shown up at right side, drag&drop gives message : Flashing Aborted
Do u get any kinda error ...or it just freezes....???
try checking the notification light...if its still on or it goes off...
And have u tried any other firmware...?
try changing the kernel....perform a factory reset and clean all the cache ...and then try flashing again....
I have this issue usually reboot, change usb socket or close firewall help for me atleast.
I am going to write a noob friendly flashtool guide for XDA and my website soon.

Hi All,
I am new here & for these technical things also, but 1st of all I would like to appriciate all who made these difficult things look so easy.
Now my problem :
I have Xperia Arc, I flashed & rooted the device post that I was trying to install CM10. I also installed ClockWork Mod Ver 5.XXX.
I took backup & then I tried to install from SD card (CM10 Zip) but it gave me "Status7" error so I restored my backed up data & clicked on restart device...... from then now whenever I start the device it hangs on Sony logo, even I can not switcg it off, I have to take out battery to switch it off.
If memory serves me best I had Android 4.0.XX installed earlier.... Please suggest what to do to get my device up & running....
I again want to appriciate the people who pull out time to help others in such simpler ways ....
Boot into cwm wipe data, cache, (advanced )dalvic cache go to mounts storage format data, cache, system, next flash cm10 again. If that not work fastboot another JB kernel with cwm built in repeat above instructions. If all fails flash back to stock with a fft rom, hope that helps:fingers-crossed:

Because you have flashtool working you can either flash back to a stock rom with a ftf file found in arc forum.Or connect phone to flashtool let phone recognize phone might take two three minutes wait till flashtool says root access allowed. Then go to tools /reboot /recovery/reboot default version this should take you into cwm recovery then follow instructions in my first post.

As I told earlier also, I am very new for all this. I am not able to find a ftf file by which I can flash back. Please see if you can provide me with the exact link & the way how to do it through flosh tool. I know I am sounding dumb but actually this is my condition right now. Thanks in advance for all support

It seems to me you are already on .587
you might need to do the cache and dalvik
in general doing the back button should bring you to the menu
put back the battery of your phone and press the back button and see if that diplays the recovery mode from your tel from there delete cache and dalvik reboot it again wait a few minuteswhile booting and should come back to life
