How fast can your device count to a Billion? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey guys. Found this interesting app called Billion Counter that uses CPU power to count to a billion (or any other number you want). I think it would be interesting to see what other people are getting on different roms and what not. It's crazy to see how superior our device is compared to the others listed in the app.
Be patient with the app, it'll be stuck on the "Counting, please wait" screen for the duration of the test.
I'm running rooted stock JB 4.1.1. Ran the test about 5 times and took a screen of the fastest one (18.164).
Here is a link to the app in Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jcbgrnr.billioncounterv2

Made a test Batch file for my home computer ..
Took 16.85 seconds ! LOL And that was only 1 million !
So I am not sure how accurate that program is!!
I mean it counted to: 1,000,000,000,000 and it came up with 16 secs!
Now I know DOS uses a 1-thread processes
I would assume his uses multi-treading processing.
But .. IDK .. seems kinda weird.

Tic tac, clock sync problem, Watson!

I get to the point: every time I boot Android the clock is setted 2 hours later... if I chance it there, it'll change also in winmo... I know it's not necessary, but can you suggest me anything to solve this little problem?

I actually use an application in Android called clock sync. Keeps the clock... in sync.
2 hours tho, mine NEVER goes that far off. The time just starts drifting as soon as I boot Android, so to keep it from drifting I have it sync with the pool.ntp.org servers every 30 mins or 1 hr... Or however frequently you wish.
Drifts for me too. IIRC it's a known "feature" and there was a fix. Search for it.

It depends on what time zone you are in how much winmo will be off when you boot back into it, its 7 hours off for me, MST. (Which makes sense i'm 7 hours off of GMT.)
Athe time on android is always right, but going back to windows its 5 hours ahead, the touch pro 2 wm6.5 doesn't have a time server sync feature.......

Sent from my Vision using XDA Premium App
Erm... this would be a question. They come down on you pretty hard if you don't read/follow the forum rules. Anyway, there is a (discontinued) thread in development on how to beat data throttling. Unfortunately, it was discontinued because the carrier(s) are throttling on their side; so, pretty much nothing you can do but appeal to your carrier. My other advice would be to find a favorite free wifi spot for the next 4 weeks (McDonalds or coffee shops usually have them). Good luck.
wait......... so the 5Gb soft cap affects when youre UPLOADING aswell?!
I seriously did not know this
I didn't think about the cap being on the upload side either. I saw the thread on the workaround but after seeing that it was out of date I wasn't sure what my options were.
Thanks

On uploads, huh? That's weird... have you gone on tmobile's site and checked the usage details? I guess it does make sense though... I mean upload speed is important and is mainly forgotten by consumers, carriers, and isp providers alike. The only thing I know that works is deleting the throttle files in /data/system/throttle folder and that's very temporary. I'm sorry not thing else really works anymore since it's pretty much controlled ota now.

If deleting the throttle files is temporary, couldn't we set the throttle file as read-only so it can't be written?

I think we did try that in the past but since some things have changed in the way tmobile throttles... its worth a try, for sure.
Any users who are currently throttled... try it out for us and let us know, please.
I'm throttled right now thanks to ATT turning off my internet even though I paid and left me with no internet for 2 days, but i don't where the throttle files are. Could someone point me in the right direction?

umm wut... I recently moved to a new apartment an don't have a isp so I'm doing tethering and currently at 1.3gb of my monthly usage. I get really good speeds here (1mb/s+) I would like to be able to have REAL unlimited data so I don't have to settle for a land line. I'm sure plenty of others are in the same boat, any new info or thoughts on how to accomplish this would be awesome.

The only thing you can do is delete it everytime you get slow speeds. That might be every reboot or after several hours. I figured that setting it to read only won't do anything but it was worth a try, I guess. Just use wifi as much as possible next month. That's the only way to avoid it if you stream a lot of music or video. Oh well...
Thanks bro

First there is a step by step thread so pull a search. Second, I'm capped atm since I downloaded all the Rom making tools.. and I have done the walkthrough with removing the cap files, and they don't work for me. Thirdly, use WiFi and lastly, as an idea try getting on one of their old servers, so check for an older APN setting. Hope that works.

We know... it's my old thread But yeah, it doesn't work anymore, nor the alternate apn, or any other hacks. The only thing to do is delete the throttle file after ever reboot (or as needed), watch your data usage with the tmobile app or via their website, and use wifi as much as possible.

Lol. Sorry - I hadn't taken Ornithoscelidaphobians into account!
I shall add the following message:
WARNING : May Contain Dinosaurs
I've installed it and - while personally I won't change my wallpaper for it permanently - it works perfectly. It started lagging significantly at around a score of 180 though.
Edit: While testing the 'no game' mode, I found a bug: if you keep tapping the screen the framerate drops drastically. I still like the dino animation though .

Thanks bee55 (and have 'thank'ed).
I'll was thinking of putting some sort of graphic quality throttle in place for higher levels - that would certainly help with the lag.
I hadn't noticed that 'no game' bug and I'll get right on it.
Glad you liked the T-Rex - I'm working on some more to add some variety. Raptors anyone?

[APP] Tasker - Take smartness of your phone to the next level .

Hi friends, already most of you might know this app but I thought of sharing it anyway. Gotta say, if there is one app on the play store that is worth all your money, it's gotta be tasker. Tasker helps you automate things. It saves a lot of time and makes your phone a stand out. Typically, it can do almost anything that you can think of. I will share the beginners' guide video links from YouTube shortly so that this OP doesn't heap into a giant. The video tutorials will convey you what exactly tasker is and what it can really do. Believe me, it's freaking awesome ! After watching the videos, I would want you guys to post the different profiles that you've created using this amazing app. So, let's make our phone " SMART " !!!
Find tasker here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...google&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=tasker+app

It doesn't consume battery at all if you know how to use it in the right way. We all actually can't imagine how automated can Android be with the tasker app. Check out the part three of the video series. You can see how tasker can do things & you'll be amazed.

I have set up three profiles. One is the music profile that launches the music app + keeps the volume at full blast on plugging in the ear phone and brings the volume back to zero & kills the app on unplugging it. The other two profiles help me keep my phone silent during the college hours automatically. Phone remains silent from 9:20 in the morning to 1:50 in the noon & then goes back to normal mode all by itself after the scheduled time except for Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I have to attend my labs and my phone goes silent and then back on to the normal mode like before but on these days, it is silent from 9:20 in the morning to 5:40 in the evening. So I needn't worry about switching between silent and normal modes all along !! Everything happens automatically ! How awesome is that !!!

I think no one is ever interested in amazing stuffs like these. Everyone's busy switching from ROM to ROM a day. But let me remind you, by doing this, some where we are not at all making use of our phone. I don't mean any offence towards using roms as I use them myself, but let's face it, it's some how true. The phone is for us, we are not for the phone. By doing all this, I ain't trying to gain any attention/being famous on xda but just the lack of HOW AMAZING THIS THREAD COULD BE IF EVERY ONE MINGLES let's me down. Please share your profiles and other tasker stuffs and help the thread grow friends...

Too big of a hassle to do that just for testing sake haha, and no doubt my many tweaks and xposed modules don't actually help reducing ram usage

Thanks man enough for me seems like your m9 work like charm under 600 mg system ram is normal
A quick tip for you.
If your phones rooted, then use a file explorer with root permissions and go into /system/app & delete system apps that are pre-installed that you dont need... Only delete whats safe, for example Google Search, Zoe, etc
Is this normal ? After update to 5.1 system ram usage around 1 gig !!!!!! on 5.0.2 was 500 m
