iTunes movies - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys
Is there any way to play(or remotely play) iTunes movies on Note 2 ? I purchased few movies from iTunes(which I wish I didn't).
I did a lot of search and found nothing. Default players won't play it because of the DRM and remote players can't play it either.
I also haven't had any luck removing DRM using any kind of converters.

Guess there is no way to do so :/
I should never buy any movie from iTunes again lol

Splashtop or androidvnc viewer won't work? It's not ideal but if you're on local network it works great.

Splashtop works but I was looking for an app like Flex/Zumocast which allows to view files controlling the whole PC

I dont understand, why I can play on my rooted (Jellybean) HTC Desire HD itunes movies and on my HP Touchpad and also on my Note II I cant play exactly
same videos ?
It is related to processor or graficunit ?

If you still need a solution, I use Requiem to remove DRM from any and all iTunes content whenever I help someone jump ship from iOS to Android. It worked great when I made the jump too!! It works on videos, music, and eBooks.

I was troubled with this problem. I suggest you can try M4V Converter Plus, it can remove itunes drm easily.

Movies best way to convert them and player to play em?

Just wondering Ive been trying to watch movies but I cant figure out how to watch them good on the evo. I've tried arc media with my avi's but the audio doesn't sync good with the movies. I also tried converting them to mpeg4 cause I read that is the best format for the HTC player but then the file is enormous and I have to empty my memory card just to put it on. So my question is how does everyone here watch movies on there evos what is the best video app or converter and format for my pc and if there are any apps like media hub that the galaxy phones have?

HOLY RUN-ON SENTENCE BATMAN
I just use Handbrake to convert to mp4, at the same time shrinking it to about 300mb and use the stock video player- works great.
lol there are some periods in there. Thx ill try that sounds a lot better than a 7gb movie. Now besides for that are there any programs similar to media hub I can rent movies or buy em right on my phone

[Q] what to play AVIs with instead of rockplayer?

i have an old copy of rockplayer which (now that i'm trying to use it) wants to be activeted for free playback - it can't activate so is useless.
anything else that can play avis? re-encoding isn't an option
I use arc media player.

using vplayer as of yest
arc media wouldnt open any files. even mp4s that the stock media player would. weird.
moboplayer its not in marketplace http://moboplayer.com/moboplayer_en.html
QQplayer is also worth a look, auto scans your SD, and only presents you with video files to play, also saves your position on multiple files, so resuming playback, even across multiple videos, is easy.
w w w.appbrain.com/app/qqplayer/com.tencent.research.drop
Rockplayer is the fastest player with the best neon optimizations support as far as I know but now I'm not so sure anymore since I've read about Moboplayer... I definitely gotta give it a try, thank you infamous6622 for the tip
i'm using vPlayer too - not had any issues with it so far
vplayer only found 2 of the 5 videos on my card. when i tried to get it to rescan, it crashed! Am currently trying meridian, seems ok at the moment.
Zimly is an awesome Player!!
Another vote for QQplayer, it also does not need any special permissions whereas if you care to look at Zimly it wants to
"read phone state and identity
Allows the application to access the phone features of the device. An application with this permission can determine the phone number and serial number of this phone, whether a call is active, the number that call is connected to and the like."
as well as
"change Wi-Fi state
Allows an application to connect to and disconnect from Wi-Fi access points, and to make changes to configured Wi-Fi networks."
Call me a cynic but without knowing any more details of the above there's no way I'd install Zimly.

Streaming media

I don't use Netflix which I know is good. What streaming media (apps or browser links) look good on the N7? A few that I like that seem to work well (and look good):
syfy.com/rewind
usanetwork.com/videos (must subscribe to cable or Sat service)
dish.epixhd.com (must subscribe to cable or Sat service)
dish remote access (app)
crackle (app)
tv.com (app)
None are perfect, but I would rate all a "4"; they look very good full screen. I tried TNT, it kind of sucks.

Crunchyroll works great. Shame they dumped the tablet interface in the redesign though...
What about streaming from a Home NAS? I use FreeNAS and have like, 8TB of movies, in storage, that I stream to my PS3 using PS3 Media Server, but want to do the same with my tablet....
I use bsplayer to stream video from nas which I think is very easy setup
Plex is a really good answer for streaming from a pc to the nexus if you have lots of movies,
it automatically gets all the tag info from the web, like cover art etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5wbGV4YXBwLmFuZHJvaWQiXQ..
I use MovieBrowser UPnP to browse my nas and dice to play the videos. Best solution for me so far, but I'm going to check out some of the other options mentioned in this thread.

I can't add to the OP's list, but for streaming movies on my home network, I use TVersity on a Windows PC because it's compatible with a gazillion devices, particularly my Xbox 360. I have MediaHouse on the Nexus and I watch the movies with MX Player. TVersity does take a little bit of configuring. MediaHouse discovers it within a second or so and its integration with MX Player is seamless.
XBMC?
I just looked at xbmc. Looks interesting. Does it find shows on a dvr? I see the screen examples of like 1000 movies and 8 seasons of 24... do people actually have that much stored on a pc, or does this find stuff on your dvr or on line? No way all that can be stored on an n7.

I have to put a plug in for MediaHouse combined with Mx. Seamless streaming from a new DLNA drive on my Netgear router.
I have 40GB of movies (that I purchased) and a few GB of music on it.
The moves are as ripped, .avi, and they look great. I like not having to convert.

Another vote for Plex here, I love the way it catalogues and finds all the cover artwork for my library. The remote is a very nice touch too!
I just use ES File Explorer to browse my server's Samba share and have it open to MX Media Player. Most media is encoded to 720p mkv and using software decoding it plays back fine.

Found the best streaming media for n7, mediahouse-pro with MX player-pro video player. I wasted a couple bucks on other apps including plex and it was kind of frustrating at first. But I got it now and thought I would share.

Exactly what I do! ES File Explorer is extremely user friendly and it's just a matter of marking folders as shared and they pop up on my N7. Couple that with MX Player and it's a home run

App for Streaming Video

I have looked around, and can't find any information in threads that are not at least a year old. I use airplayit on my ipad to stream videos stored on my desktop to the tablet and it works fairly well. However, their android app crashes on my phone when I try to add a computer for it to stream from. I also tried an app called skifta from the play store, however it crashes when I open it. I am trying to find, Ideally, one program that will work for both my ipad and my phone, but if that is not possible, just a good one for my phone would suffice.
Any ideas?
I like BS player. It has a LAN mode that you can use to stream media. It so far Plays all of my .mkv files without stutters.
I use Plex media server

This seems to be exactly what I was looking for. 5 bucks is the most I've paid for an android app, but I just might have to do it.
I for one would love to see Google do for video files what they did for music (Google Play Music). Streaming videos via your pc to phone while on the same network is a nice feature but having it in the cloud would be a plus.
I use bs player as a player, but have set up an ftp server on my home pc and navigate to it through es file explorer.

Okay in the process of trying to find an app that could stream video files as well as music & document files I came across an app called ZumoCast. This app is specifically made to run on certain Motorola devices but doing some searches here on XDA I found a patched version, installed it on my phone and thus far it works flawlessly (well almost), no widget support & album art doesn't always show up.
I haven't tried it while I'm away from home so I can't really tell you how well things would stream outside the network but in house it works great.
Attached you will find the apk & here is the link to the windows install file (sorry iOS users no support for you guys at this time)
Enjoy

Thanks. I'll have to give this a try. I was getting weird errors with plex and it didn't want to play back most of my video files for some reason
I use ES file explorer to access all my files: system, network, ftp, and cloud. They all stream flawlessly and I just play them on DICE player. Love the new popup player.

[Q] Popular alternative to iTunes?

I've been meaning to put some music onto my Note 2 running JellyBomb, but I don't really know what music program to use on my phone and PC (windows 8). For example, the google music app, the default music players, or possibly a music player in the play store. So just wondering, what program is everyone using on their Desktop that's similar to iTunes in organization to sync music to their phones? I tried using android apps that sync iTunes to android devices, but they don't really show the album artwork in the apps. Thanks in advance for any input/advice.

I'm using media monkey. Looks like iTunes but works with Android. Installs on windows, creates libraries, play lists, imports just about all music formats as well as converting to most popular formats. Manages your video, rips and burns CDs. Can act as a media manager both local or across a loan. Too much to mention. Just Google media monkey.

I used Google Music. It's may not be quite feature rich as others such as iTunes or Zune. It works well on the phone. You can listen to music just on the device or everything on the device and uploaded to the cloud. They will even play songs not on either, if set for all songs. It also has a subscription service.
The music player is pretty plain, which is fine with me. Most people who like stuff like Beats just like how it increases the bass, which also increases distortion. But one can find music by artist, album, genre and so forth.
If you're just looking to play on the device and want more features, PowerAmp is very good choice and cheap.

+1 for Media Monkey. If you Google and install a developmental release, you can WiFi sync with the app in the play store. No media manager is as robust as media monkey and I have tried them all.

I also want to endorse Media Monkey. It's great for all of the things mentioned above and all of the great plugins you can customize it the way you like. The Discogs tagger is my fave.
