I installed the latest official 4.1.1 update jelly bean for our beloved Samsung Galaxy S3 i747 AT &T; I want is to control the GPU from my cell through a kernel that allows; i tested the kt747 of ktoonsez kernel which has some horrific bugs and I had to re-flash my phone because of that kernel garbage;
if someone who recently upgraded their S3 i747 with official 4.1.1 JB has a modified kernel to control the GPU, I mean I mean the "overclock", please ask them to rise to the forum that kernel to the most of my S3 aprobechar i747.
otherwise, the kernel is compatible with the official version 4.1.1 JB which only came to this teéfono.
I thank you for this great help.

Actually the kt747 kernel works flawlessly with stock jb. You must have done something wrong.

Kt747 works fine on mine as well. No bugs. Before you call something garbage, you should probably understand that these phones are special. Not all phones can handle all kernels. If you are going to stay on TW ROMs, I suggest also looking in the TMo forum. Morfic has a kernel that oc's CPU and Gpu. Maybe express more tact in the future.

Your choices are KT kernel, morific's (Trinity) or the latest from Faux (the latter two have the most recent JB TW updates maintained on the TMo SGS3 forums).
Each one has it's own quirks, so just need to play with whichever is right for you.
AND for the guys recommending Task's underwear kernel -- you DO realize that's a AOKP/CM-based one and would be looking for trouble on a TW-based ROM right?
I think either your install process or your download process might be what contains some horrific bugs. I would try KT747 again because it looks as though you are almost alone in this claim to the "horrific bugs." I like what gunz.jones said. Tact is good. try it next time when asking for help. I know nothing about it though.
I was wondering what these "horrific bugs" were lol

I recommend AOKP or CM9. Both are AOSP based with AOKP being closer to pure Android 4.0. That said, it helps to just try out what is available and see what works for you.

Is stock ROM official ICS update or GB?
I got this phone 2 months and bounced around between Darkside, stock ICS rooted, and AOKP. I've flashed Eugene's streamlined kernel to AOKP. And I think that's where I'm staying. I love the ui changes and inbuilt cpu control. And with Groove IP I can do without native wifi calling. My advice is to try them each for a few days, even ones I didn't mention like cm9, and decide what fits your needs.

That's because 0623-03 IS Build 39, assuming you are referring to Whitehawkx's AOKP. Hercules is officially supported by Team Kang now, so you can get Build 40 from here:

Kernel overclocking
I'm using Darkside TLLE4.V1 and the 3.0.8-perf-T989DTTLE4-CL579656 kernel. Way good. One question though: I come the cpu is not overclockable over 1.5 ? I thought this kernel was open to overclocking, I would like to boost it up to 1.8. Any ideas?
stay away from the Resurrection remix rom flashed it yesterday and it installed but when i rebooted my phone never came back on and it still wont do anything

it looks like there are a bunch of darkside roms/kernels. which one are you using?
This may have been addressed before but for some reason I can not find an answer. I have tried AOKP and CM9 and I am having problems with the external SD card not being recognized by several apps (beyondpod is the main one). There is a setting for using the external only but then most of my games (EA titles) will not open. Is there anything that can be done? I am currently using Chicago rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602332 and it seems to work correctly but I would like to start using the CM9 nightly builds. Thanks in advance.

AT&T SGS 3 running Team baked black bean 5
Any kernel for aosp ROM. Unless your ROM is based off the leak job. But if I checked correctly baked is aosp. So you can flash kt747, faux123 kernel, cm10 kernel and the other one I don't remember.
You will have to try them to see which works better on your phone. Not all phones are the same.

Thank you for posting a reply so fast. I'm really digging this site. I was on an iphone 4 jailbroken before I bought my gf a gs3. once I saw what it could do I got one right away. Now that I'm getting into this rooting thing it's starting to make a whole lot of sense, how it all comes together, everyone working together to figure things out.
Thanks again
Also, if I'm running ktoonsez's d2att jb 10.3.2012c am I already using kt747? Seems like I would be. I only asked about "sammy" kernel because ktoonsez posted about it working better.

I testted this kernel with Cyanogenmod 10 Stable and PACman Rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974280 and other few roms based on Android 4.1.2

I believe so too, i even tested with and old version of cerux kernel with various clean install of AOSP Android 4.1.2 roms.
What kernel do you recommend for AOSP Android 4.1.2 ?
I even installed ASDK 1.0 All-Star 4.1.2 Final Fixer kernel posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2111871 but the problem here its that various CPU Governor such as BADASS doesnt behave like its sopposed to. BADASS governor behaves like ONDEMAND governor.
BADASS goes all up to the MAX frequency of the CPU and that its not supposed to be like that. It is supposed to go to 972000 mhz.
The PACman rom that i installed from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1974280 has BADASS governor but it also behaves like ONDEMAND,
The reason that I stick with Android 4.1.2 its because of the HDMI MHL,
With Android 4.2.2 HDMI MHL doest work yet.
I getting bad call quality on mine.. No drop calls.. Just bad call quality... Unless I wear a headset... Oh yea i can hear them perfectly tho

Cerux Kernel on AOKP Android 4.2.2 run perfect on my device, but i no longer with Android 4.2.2 because it doesnt support MHL HDMI.
So far Android 4.1.2 satisfied my needs . Well I now i have the Samsung Galaxy S3. So i guest im moving to the XDA-DEV SGH-T999 Forums.
By the way. My deep thanks and respects to all the dev out there. I flashed so many roms and kernels. it was very fun learning so many things in devices. I havent root it my Galaxy S3 yet. it been a couple of hours since o bought it.
Im not gonna give up on flashing stuff.
Here's an idea. Have you thought about not flashing another kernel? The one that comes with CM is a custom built kernel specifically for cm.
Yes it doesn't have a long list of governors. But it produces decent battery life without compromising stability.

Cerux Kernel for 4.1.2 would be the best kernel for Android 4.1.2 but it seems it still have serious issues.

4.1.2 kernels
since the only rom i have used is hyperdrive, i use a 4.1.2 kernel too. i really like the ziggy kernel, deviant kernel and kinetic pulse. all of these kernels have oc enabled. these are the 3 i recommend.
Kinetic Pulse runs well for me on Axis. On a sided note though, most all the 4.1.2 roms I have tired give me less battery than the 4.1.1 roms I have used.
